This is a nice laptop, light and portable with a great screen and price! The camera video and audio quality seems really good for an ultra portable. Good review as well, thanks!
I have this laptop with the "Force Pad" Haptic pad. It is a generic in house made haptic pad, its not great feeling & is noisy. It is not the Sensel Brand Haptic Pad used on XPS, Z13, Macbooks, etc.... Also they designed the RAM chips to use the top bar of the chasis (above the FN keys) as a heat sink. Direct contact. Hey Andrew, it looks like the price for this laptop has increased? Clicking on your link shows me $1580 for the base model with no upgrades and $2220 for the Ultra 9/32 GB RAM/1 TB SSD config. I don't think this is worth it at that pricing :(
Very impressive ultra portable laptop that certainly will not disappoint! It's got an excellent IPS display, ultra fast soldered RAM, excellent 1080p webcam, excellent internal mics, excellent quad speakers for a Windows laptop, and decent battery life. It is a dream of a computer and I highly recommend it!! Brilliant review Andrew as always!!! 👏😁

Got this laptop as reviewed (I did have the haptic trackpad upgrade at no charge) for $870 bucks a couple weeks back with a beneplace discount. The best laptop I’ve had. Far exceeds the thinkpad z13 gen 1 I have and barely beating the MacBook Air m2 I traded in. I only wished windows was a smoother and more aesthetically pleasing OS like Mac OS.
It would be cool if you could compare all the time the battery life between the MacBook air as well with every laptop since that’s the gold standard of laptops right now
Dang, in the market for new compact laptop, just purchased an HP ENVY 17in, just as simple EDD for home use, to replace 7 year AW 17 R4, this Lenovo, makes me reconsider my idea of the Surface 9, but Hell, I can buy both.

The haptic forcepad is quite hell to work with (if you didn't worked with that before) - please, does anybody know if the haptic forcepad can be disabled and use the pad more like classical touchpad/clickpad? Witrh a software or hardware interference, doesn't matter. Thank you very much!
You can deactivate vibration of the haptic forcepad in the windows touchpad settings. I was also very disappointed. The vibration sound is weird noisy (like rattle) and its different loud whereever you push it on the touchpad area. Therefore I sent it back.
@@andrewmarcdavidniceeee :D please please review for playing games, while showing the CPU, GPU temps while also showing the wattage on MSI afterburning... thanks 😅
I brought this one, return because: 1. It feels heavy in hand. 2 design is worse than z13 and xps13, the groove at the back break the smooth feel when holding. 3. The keyboard feels way more cheap than z13. 4. I love haptic of my z13 but hate the haptic touch pad on this one. The Z13 feels much more premium.
I will get the Core Ultra 9 Model with 32GB of Ram in about a month - coming from a Thinkpad Z13 gen1. What I will be missing is an Oled but everything else, especially Thermals, seem to be way better. Since I use mine only for light browsing, Netflix and Office (office mostly with an external Display), I think I should be fine with the higher temperatures. But then again, my Z13 was also running very hot and loud all the time.
Could you take a look at the ROG Flow X13 2023 edition (w/ only the iGPU)? It is sometimes on sale for $699 at Best Buy, and somewhat as a competitor machine with the ThinkBook 13x Gen 4. It gets a lower resolution display, and definitely worse speaker system, but seem to have better performance on multi core due to a much higher power and thermal budget.

Doesn't this have a new 'stainless' magnesium alloy material for the chassis? If so, does it improve on the 'feel' of recent magnesium alloy materials? e.g. ThinkPad 13x.
If it fixes the complaints about the feel of mag-alloy compared to aluminium, then Lenovo should go all in and ditch the endless variations of plastic, carbon fibre, etc.
Very nice pc. Camera and mics are good. Sound on this unit is very good. One thing to be aware is Microsoft is putting with their AI capability with the newer iterations of Windows 11 is this thing called "Recall" which appears to inject possible privacy issues using windows. From what I have read about it it takes snapshots of your keystrokes and what you are doing every 3 seconds. Supposedly data from this is stored locally but Microsoft has the ability to capture this data. Keep an eye out about this if there are potential privacy issues using this down the line then these Windows laptops might not be the best way to go in the future. Who knows?
