I'm wondering if there will be a Snapdragon X Elite version of this laptop - would be an absolute banger - I would like to update my comment as a result of reading the actual reviews of laptops equipped with Snapdragon SOCs: at the moment I would be more interested in the Lunar lake version of this Thinkbook 13x gen 4, especially in regards of thermals. Snapdragon laptop's battery life is not that much longer to worth to deal with compatibility issues, at least for me.

Thanks Andrew! They should've remade this with the Qualcomm chip. Also, I have a request for you: in my search for a quality laptop for work and light play, I have tested many laptops and noticed a lot of them have minor but annoying issues. One thing I want to ask of you is do a thorough sleep and wake test, shutting the lid and coming back to it later, checking if the laptop wakes itself when its closed and sleeping (major issue on some), etc. Basically a user experience test.

I have this laptop with the "Force Pad" Haptic pad. It is a generic in house made haptic pad, its not great feeling & is noisy. It is not the Sensel Brand Haptic Pad used on XPS, Z13, Macbooks, etc.... Also they designed the RAM chips to use the top bar of the chasis (above the FN keys) as a heat sink. Direct contact. Thats why That area gets super hot as shown in the video.

The keyboard feels way more cheap than z13. 4. I love haptic of my z13 but hate the haptic touch pad on this one. The Z13 feels much more premium.

I will get the Core Ultra 9 Model with 32GB of Ram in about a month - coming from a Thinkpad Z13 gen1. What I will be missing is an Oled but everything else, especially Thermals, seem to be way better.
Since I use mine only for light browsing, Netflix and Office (office mostly with an external Display), I think I should be fine with the higher temperatures.

Very nice pc. Camera and mics are good. Sound on this unit is very good. One thing to be aware is Microsoft is putting with their AI capability with the newer iterations of Windows 11 is this thing called "Recall" which appears to inject possible privacy issues using windows. From what I have read about it it takes snapshots of your keystrokes and what you are doing every 3 seconds. Supposedly data from this is stored locally but Microsoft has the ability to capture this data. Keep an eye out about this if there are potential privacy issues using this down the line then these Windows laptops might not be the best way to go in the future. Who knows? Meteor Lake was such a let down. I kinda feel bad for people who paid full retail for Meteor Lake now that Lunar Lake is shipping.

If this thing had AMD processor instead of Intel, it would be as performant while being more efficient, cool and cheap. Intel powered laptop in 2024 is just overpriced heater-fan.
