Ice Machines are cool. This one has a leaking evaporator. In the next video, that I'm editing today, I do the leak searching, and actually add refrigerant to it to make sure it'll work if we go through ordering and replacing the evaporator. I explain more about how it works in that one.
@@commercial_service Yeah I mean I've those. I had the Yellow Jacket SMAN460, or SMAN360... you're right though I need to go ahead and get something like that for sure, especially since I'm making these videos LOL. Okay I'm convinced...
I’m pretty good with ice makers work o them a lot The suction pressure should start 55-60 psi and be down to 45 psi within a few minutes after start up That machine has pressure switch and a timer that will initiates harvest didn’t see the brand though Looking at the ice formation on the plate it definitely has a refrigeration issue Low charge Restriction Txv issues Hot gas valve leaking by The way that condenser coil looked you may be dealing with a restriction from the oil getting overheated Hope that helps Oh yeah it’s only 95 deg today in the H
Yeah I know today is a very nice day. LOL. I appreciate all the feedback yeah it's low charge leaking in the evaporator. I should have the rest of that video or part 2 of it up today. I'm already done working on it we're just waiting on a coil to get quoted. That and a new water trough and water filters...
They ripped off the old-school Iceomatic design with no shame. This is the level of workmanship they purchased when they bought that unit, believing that they were saving money over buying an actual Ice-O-Matic.
@@randomrefrigeration4564 oh believe me I know. I did a video while back about another Maxx ice machine, I'll link it in the description of the next one. I swear it looks just like one of them TRUE units except the cheap as hell
I didn’t like working on ice machines to sensitive and time consuming just plain boring. The last company I worked for is where I got refrigeration experience. I’ve always done hvac prior. He didn’t advertise refrigeration it was accounts he had that if you do our hvac you must do our refrigeration. I didn’t mind the walk ins and reach ins. But the ice machines were a lot cleaner than this one because we installed in-line filters on them and cleaned and sanitized them quarterly that was the only way he would do ice machines and we didn’t have to many problems with them with the contract written that way.
👍💪🇺🇸❄️ Nice vid I feel confident on walkins n reach-ins but ice machines I have very very little experience with. Thanks for sharing

Get probes if you do ice machines. Those 6' hoses are losing charge every time you connect.
