Her career revival stopped as soon as it got started. About 10 years ago, she sang at a casino and was warmly received. At the end of the concert, she started talking about her love of left wing politics and the crowd turned against her. That was the last I've heard about her.
There is no doubt, Linda Ronstadt is and always will be the best female singer ever. If this planet continues for a million years, she will always ride at the top.
The Columbia Records really made a huge mistake not recording ANY of these Johnny Cash duets on pro-equipment during this time. "Duets" with Johnny Cash (recorded live on stage..) would have been one of the largest selling albums of all time..

Linda Ronstadt could sing anything in any genre. Country, blues, pop, rock, bluegrass,show tunes, Tejano, folk, you name it, she could, and did, sing it and sound sensational. One of my favorite singers of the 60's and 70's. Likewise Johnny Cash. Either solo or duet up with Roy Clark, The Highwaymen, June Carter and her kin, Linda Ronstadt, Johnny magnified every song he sang!
Speaking of Roy Clark, He played once with the Boston Pops, and was obviously so nervous, But I observed that the musicians there were obviously great fans of that country boy. So un appreciative of his own great talent. He and Glen Campbell,

That the innocence and sweetness of Linda at age 23 takes us all back to the seasons of our youth huh...she still has beauty and grace in her 70s now....Linda did her own recording of this song it’s different but in this duet she does it lower she, has such an amazing range and harmonies are superb. Romantic sad song so glad neither of them thought that way except to sing it as a sad 😔 song...life is enough of a challenge with age comes losses, friends health parents...what a legacy and a treasure.
