    Awesome! I'm not quite a beginner, but I am constantly learning. I never thought about puting primer on the tip before base coat. Definitely going to try that next time!

    Great video! I love your tutorials. Question for you about applying gel topcoat on the underside of the nail. I'm doing GelX style full coverage tips, and along the free edge underneath is where I get the quickest lifting. Does putting the top coat underneath help with that at all? Thanks again!

    I got the painted desert extra short coffin and the almond shape tips but they are still waaaay too long for me. Do you have any tips for the best way to cut down the length and get them back to the shape they should be? I did ok with the coffin ones but they were still a little lopsided.. I think the almond might be more.. involved. Thanks for the videos!

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend hand filing those down because the shape is soo tapered and unique. You may find they will look more oval after reshaping because almonds and stilettos really need that extra added length in order to be considered true almonds and stilettos.

    VERY INFORMATIVE...Im late I know, just wondering if "cactus jelly" is just what Painted Desert calls thier adhesive(other names for it??)🤔🤔 Thanks a whole lot cuz now I don't feel so intimidated to try 'gelly nails' diy!(HAVE HAD ALL SUPPLIES FOR OVER A MONTH BUT NERVOUS I WILL MUCK IT UP OR WORSE-ie.Injure myself or forget something important that leads to infection!😮)

    • @CaroleAnnette

      Yes it’s definitely their name for the attachment gel that’s commonly used to adhere gel tip extensions. ✨
      Give it a try on just one nail, don’t commit to the whole hand, and see how you like it!

    Can tips be applied using hybrid gel? It’s thicker so it seems like it wouldn’t seep out while pressing the tips on? I don’t have cactus gelly but do have some builder gel. Fills with what product?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! Before this Cactus Gelly, I was using builder gels to apply and fill. Love it!

    Do you apply your tip all the way to your cuticle or right before the cuticle , to make it easier for fills?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve tried both ways and find that right before the cuticle is best if you’re blending the edges

    Just about to watch but thought of a question. Can you use gelly tips in a dual form with poly gel? I applied some tips with it and they stayed on of course. Just curious what your thoughts are on how to use like a dual form. Apply peel base to tip? Now of to view video!

    I’ve been applying the tip a little further away from the cuticle and then applying the base gel over the tip and exposed cuticle area to prevent the “ledge” as the nail grows out. It works but often enough the tip goes on varying degrees of crooked and I then have to take it off and do it again. Does blending the cuticle area your way help eliminate the “ledge” as well?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it does help eliminate the ledge.

    Hello! Does the primer have to be gel primer or can it be regular primer ?

    • @CaroleAnnette
      @CaroleAnnette  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve never used other primers not specifically meant for use with gel, so I’m not 100% sure. I’d use a gel primer to be safe.
