🤯 I had no idea you could extract elements for reference like that, I thought people just used SPAN on the whole track and EQ's to pinpoint the individual sounds. It was very messy working like that, I'll try your way because it gives a 1000 times more control and accuracy
Hey man, great advice. I'll be sure to check this feature out. Something to be considered here however is that what you are comparing to has already been mastered, and therefore should be reduced by some db before directly comparing with your unmastered track. Perhaps around -6db. The kick should be reduced even more. Do you have any experience around this area? I have been producing for several years now and I found this tick to be one of the best out there for my mixing. It also ensured that I had plenty of headroom for my own mastering at the end! That was my biggest mistake for so many years!
If it's mastered even better because you'll try to reach a better end result before mastering. But of course, something I forgot to mention is that both volumes need to be the same when comparing
It's the same section (drop), but I used 2 different songs of mine (1st is like 6-7 years old) because thanks to this (and other things) now my quality is better since the beginning, choosing the sounds, etc. It's not just about doing some EQs

I also use EQ in a reference song to check areas and see how the different elements work there
@@wildcrowmusic yes but it helps a lot in sound design if you can extract a specific sound for reference instead of a whole song
Take it down a notch

Why is the comparison using different songs or sections?
It's the same section (drop), but I used 2 different songs of mine (1st is like 6-7 years old) because thanks to this (and other things) now my quality is better since the beginning, choosing the sounds, etc.

YO! Recently I'm watching and again you uploaded new one. God it's help!
