  • Army of Anyone was a rock supergroup formed by Filter frontman Richard Patrick with two members of rock band Stone Temple Pilots. In addition to Patrick on vocals, the band featured brothers Dean DeLeo and Robert DeLeo (on guitar and bass respectively), and Ray Luzier, formerly of David Lee Roth's band, on drums. The band released one self-titled album in November 2006, which was well-received, but sold well short of the members' multi-platinum selling releases of their other bands, even despite the success of their first single, "Goodbye", which peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart. After releasing a second charting single, "Father Figure", and touring in support of the album, the band went into hiatus in mid-2007, with members returning to their respective bands, except Luzier, who joined Korn. Despite being relatively inactive since 2007, all members have stayed in contact, and have independently shown interest in working on a second album if the logistics and scheduling of their commitments to other bands ever aligned.

How in the hell did this band not hit the heights?? Just a shame. This record is as good as this genre ever produced.

I’ve been waiting on the reunion for 17 years! This was the best rock album of the early 2000s.

I saw them on this tour and it was an amazing show. I was bummed they didn’t continue. I still spin the record today. It’s so good.

This band would have been huge if they were about a few years before...they are better together than either band currently...should reform and just play Filter,STP and their own songs...

Wow! I thought I’d seen everything AOA but this was new to me. I wish we HAD gotten 5 albums from them! Thanks for uploading, really interesting watch.

"Great 'meat and potatoes' rock album" - did anyone notice the band suddenly shift and it got awkward from the outset??

I didn't sense that. Not E. Trunk's best assessment (and he said it twice), bu the AoA guys were/are all pros, and I felt that they remained engaged and excited to talk about their new band. I only wish that they HAD created five albums.

Still listen to this album once every few weeks. The album EASILY trumped over half of the STP catalog.
The DeLeo brothers should have kept this one up and let S Weiland go, long ago.
