  • The Kosovo War was an armed conflict in Kosovo that started in late February 1998 and lasted until 11 June 1999. It was fought by the forces of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (i.e., Serbia and Montenegro), which controlled Kosovo before the war, and the Kosovo Albanian rebel group known as the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), with air support from the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) www.vidypedia.com/post/nato-n... from 24 March 1999, and ground support from the Albanian army.
The KLA, formed in the early 1990s to fight against Serbian persecution of Kosovo Albanians, initiated its first campaign in 1995 when it launched attacks against Serbian law enforcement in Kosovo. In June 1996 the group claimed responsibility for acts of sabotage targeting Kosovo police stations. In 1997, the organization acquired a large number of arms through weapons smuggling from Albania, following a rebellion in which weapons were looted from the country's police and army posts. In early 1998, KLA attacks targeting Yugoslav authorities in Kosovo resulted in increased Serb paramilitaries and regular forces who subsequently began pursuing a retribution campaign targeting KLA sympathizers and political opponents; this campaign killed 1,500 to 2,000 civilians and KLA combatants.
After attempts at a diplomatic solution failed, NATO intervened, justifying the Kosovo campaign as a "humanitarian war". This precipitated a mass expulsion of Kosovar Albanians as the Yugoslav forces continued to fight during the aerial bombardment of Yugoslavia (March-June 1999). By 2000, investigations had recovered the remains of almost three thousand victims of all ethnicities, and in 2001 a United Nations administered Supreme Court, based in Kosovo, found that there had been "a systematic campaign of terror, including murders, rapes, arsons and severe maltreatments", but that Yugoslav troops had tried to remove rather than eradicate the Albanian population.
The war ended with the Kumanovo Treaty, with Yugoslav and Serb forces agreeing to withdraw from Kosovo to make way for an international presence. The Kosovo Liberation Army disbanded soon after this, with some of its members going on to fight for the UÇPMB in the Preševo Valley and others joining the National Liberation Army (NLA) and Albanian National Army (ANA) during the armed ethnic conflict in Macedonia, while others went on to form the Kosovo Police. After the war, a list was compiled which documented that over 13,500 people were killed or went missing during the two year conflict. The Yugoslav and Serb forces caused the displacement of between 1.2 million to 1.45 million Kosovo Albanians. After the war, around 200,000 Serbs, Romani, and other non-Albanians fled Kosovo and many of the remaining civilians were victims of abuse. Serbia became home to the highest number of refugees and internally displaced persons in Europe.
The NATO bombing campaign has remained controversial, as it did not gain the approval of the UN www.vidypedia.com/post/un-uni... Security Council and because it caused at least 488 Yugoslav civilian deaths, including substantial numbers of Kosovar refugees.

And Albanians wanted to be independent way before the creation of Austria-Hungary in 1866, for example in the 17th and 18th century, when catholic Albanians didn't want to be a part of the Ottoman Empire and started a rebellion against them, even asking Christians for Help, without any success.
After the Balkan Wars, Serbia Greece and Montenegro were heavily favoured by the European Super Powers Great Britain, France, Russia, wo gave them territory, which was inhabited by Albanians, later on they even made plans to partition Albania between Serbia Greece and Italy, with the only objection to this plan coming from the USA, and border wars between Albania and Serbia & Italy, which ensured Albanian independence.

You forgot to mention that NATO used depleted uranium in 1999 which violated every rule and regulation there is about international warfare. Uranium, as a toxic chemical, has a half-life of 4.5 billion years, meaning a large portion of Serbs and Albanians will become victims of cancer and other diseases much further into the future. As for the amount of "Yugoslav" civilians killed, this number is estimated to be more than 1500 as NATO mainly targetted civilian areas, such as schools, hospitals, trains and homes. Yugoslav was not an ethnicity, they were Serbians who were massacred by NATO and US "intervention".

After many years of attacks on the Serbian population by KLA terrorists and after the beginning of terrorist attacks on the Serbian population and the Serbian police in '99, a group of Albanian terrorists who were presented as innocent civilians were killed in a police operation, which was later denied after the autopsy. But that was used to start an illegal action against Serbia. until then, the KLA was on the American list of terrorist organizations and was suddenly deleted, and in that illegal action they were used and presented as freedom fighters. To this day, that part of Serbia is still under the occupation of NATO troops.

First off the reason Albanians inhabited the region is because they immigrated there during the Ottoman empire era, when Serbia was freed from the Ottomans, and the Serbs came back they wanted to coexist peacefully, but the Albanians wanted otherwise.
Second Albanians had been terrorizing and massacring Serbs and Kosovo for decades, even when Tito was still alive, they even protested for independence, so you can’t tell me that Albanians are in the right
