The first time I watched your video was when I was having a hard time choosing what gimbal to use for my thesis. I can say
that you greatly influence my decision. For that I did enjoy my trial data gathering with the indigenous peoples living in Occidental Mindoro, Philippines. There were selected students who shared their stories on how they perceived the world as Mangyan students. I let them used my smartphone and gimbal. Most of them were surprised to see from the screen how their place and their looked like. I am going back in Mindoro for my field work, this time I am bringing 2 gimbals: one for my smartphone and another for my action camera. I wanted to give opportunity to all the students in Grade 6 and 7 to share their stories through photos and videos. This time I wanted them to capture how they interact with the creatures on land and rivers within their ancestral domain. Hoping that with this activity they will realize the need to fight for their rights and the future of their community. In case you give me your gimbal, I will donate it to the school of the Mangyans, so they could continue sharing their stories through photos and videos, and most of all remember and continue to respect the elders who shared their indigenous knowledge.

I got one but I lost it. I couldn’t afford another after that and kinda lost my interest in making videos, but your videos keep me encouraging and I still try to make videos with my phone handheld. In February 2018 I started my TH-cam channel. I was 65 at the time. Originally it was to share some adventures I was to have with my Australian grandson when he stayed in Nederland with me. Apart from encouragement initially from a TH-cam friend, I'm mainly self taught. Videos like yours are an enormous help. Understanding all you said about the seaside up and down motion while walking. I'd be OH SO PROUD to receive this Gimbal and impress not only my grandchildren, but myself included, with even beter videos. I feel more confident with every video I post although I know the quality and expertise varies each time. Fingers crossed! None the less I'm pleased to have discovered your channel and will continue to check out tips, and for me, new technics. One is never too old to learn. Oh and please don't let my address be a negative. The postie knows where to find me. ;-)

Great tips mate cheers I like the selfie stick boom moves. I had the earlier zyiun loved it until it got hit by a rogue wave and fried. Then instead of replacing like for like I went for the osmo 2 and a couple of months in I’m not sold on it yet need to practice more with it. One thing I like about the new zyiun is the compact size. 📷❤️✊️

I am very interested in Q2 mainly because of not restricted 360 degrees rotation. I use the Smooth-4 where rotation is restricted to max 310 degrees because of mechanical structure. May I ask two questions:
    1. Remote control: Is possible to drive Q2 rotation using an external joystick from additional Android device with ZY-Play running in joystick mode? Any restrictions in horizontal 360 degrees rotation?
    2. Slowing down gimbal reactions to get very smooth cinematic look in reveal, panorama or orbit: I use Smooth-4 and sometime I modify the PTZ parameters to slow down gimbal reactions. Does the Smooth Q2 with ZY-Play app have the same possibility regarding tuning PTZ parameters?

This is one of the best tutorials for gimbals for smartphone.!!
I myself use the Osmo Mobile with iPhone, now iPhone 11 Pro Max. Both with normal lens and Ultra Wide. Filming in confined spaces is very successful with Ultra Wide.
I've also been filming with the Osmo Pocket for more than a year. But in narrow spaces, the iPhone with Ultra Wide and Osmo Mobile is more suitable.
I think the Zhiyun SMOOTH Q2 is even better than the older Osmo Mobile.

Hi Jeven, first of all, thank you for all your reviews and videos! Please, can you compare Zhyiun Smooth Q2 with other gimbals - especially FreeVision Vilta M PRO, Snoppa Atom and DJI Osmo mobile 3. These four gimbals are in my list now and dont know which one can be a right one... Thank you!

  • @TheGeoDaddy
    @TheGeoDaddy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I disagree with the premise...
I’ve been shooting the Nikon Z6 on Moza Air 2 for a couple months and the gimbal shots I’ve been making with my iPhone 7Plus off the Osmo Mobile 3 are MUCH smoother!!!
    One, is the fatigue factor...
But I think the lighter weight - all else being equal - means LESS mass to stablize... not more. Less means less that can be effected by imperfections in handling the gimbal.
Finally, the software in the camera phones is simply - less challenging - than a camera body trying to stablize it’s own body AND the separate lens.

Nice video! When you are speaking. What camera did you vlog to?
I have ordered this gimbal. Hope it is good. I ordered the smooth 4 a year ago. not good. I also have the M2 good gimbal but this company does not do a great job in keeping up with supporting cameras. I ordered the Crane M2 and the Sony RX100 VII but they don't support that Camera with the software. I also Have the A6400 that does work well the M2 and is supported.

Great advice for better gimbal footage. My favorite bit was the "duck walk" for a couple reasons. One, my name is Donald so.. Donald the duckwalkin' videographer fits perfectly. Second, I've noticed the bobble you talk about in my own footage shot with a different gimbal. Another good tip was the movement of your body.. side to side. Thanks for great tips. Why would I like to win this gimbal, other than free? Mine is too big to simply put in my pocket. I do a fair amount of bicycle riding too, and I could use a more easily packable gimbal for the hydration pack. Thanks for great tips either way.

I'm currently (temporarily, though it's been almost a year, so how temporary is that, really?) on disability and spend most of my days at a 30 degree angle, watching TH-cam videos. I'm hoping a gimbal will actually help get me out of the house :)

I'm new to photography and film making and I'm trying to build up my arsenal of tools. The Zhiyun would be very helpful as I'm trying to learn this craft.

This is the best presentation I have seen in connection with gimbals. Probably because it confirms my own experiences very well. I wish I had found her sooner. I have a lot of practice with Zhiyun Smoot 4 and figured out for myself how to avoid the BOBBLE effect and how best to get a smooth cinematic film. I call it "ninja steps". It is difficult for me because I am 71 years old, but the effort pays off, the effect is great. Of course I tried to reduce the BOBBLE effect with the software but without success.
