I was thinking the same thing. He always researched the product and made everyone aware of what it was. He would say they were going to have a natural finish if that’s what the products were marketed as. She just came off like she was trying too hard to hate the brand.
Yeah the guy is awful, but my god does he know makeup. We have a couple of his palettes at home for costume makeup and my god does it work! It’s nice on the skin (doesn’t sting or break out your skin) and it’s so easy to apply and usually with costume makeup it’s harsh on your skin and you have to apply a lot to make it stay or highly visible, with his makeup it takes at most 2 or 3 applications His reviews are usually pro and researched as well

I have that Wayne Goss palette. It’s not a highlight and bronzer palette; it’s a contour and bronzer palette, so of course the cool tone is going to be cooler- that’s what contour is for. Also, yeah, for a lighter shade, it is supposed to be buildable (it’s a really pretty product, btw).

Not everyone wants to fully cake it on every day like Mikclowna. This is the kind of make up I'd wear to the office to my regular job (bc some people have those that arent super duper hawd influencer jobs). I can't stand Jeffree but when he reviews products its his real opinion and he knows how to do a natural look as well as a glam look.

I think something that frustrates me is beauty gurus trying on make up but not learning about the owner and product. Not all makeup is the same.
I love Wayne Goss. His makeup brushes are amazing. I’ve never used his makeup brand, but I enjoy his videos. I’ve been following him for years. He’s a class act.
Not everyone wants to fully cake it on every day like Mikclowna. This is the kind of make up I'd wear to the office to my regular job (bc some people have those that arent super duper hawd influencer jobs). I can't stand Jeffree but when he reviews products its his real opinion and he knows how to do a natural look as well as a glam look.
I get why people are upset. Not all of us are full coverage person like her. Her make up looked good, just not her heavy handed makeup looks/full glam
What we’re not gonna do is compare Mikayla to Jeffree. He researches on each single product he’s reviewing as well as the brand. Plus he has always been brutally honest.

I think the huge difference between Jeffree's bluntness and Mikayla is that at least Jeffree is credible
I think the difference is that jeffree has been open and honest about his opinions and will not bash a product just because it doesn’t “work for him”, if it’s a good product he will admit that, whereas mikaela was bashing it simply because it wasn’t a product that worked well for her, when it still could’ve been good for someone else
I feel like the thing with Jeffree is that whether or not he rips the brand apart, either way he would actually take into account what the brand is saying that they offer, unlike Mikayla
At least when she dissed the mascara, she says "This used to be one of my favorites, but now I just know better." It's not much, and lord knows I don't trust her, but at least she's saying she used to like it, and now doesn't. Opinions are allowed to change.
I saw another youtuber try out this makeup and she used it the way it was meant to be used and she loved it and it looked good too.

It’s her unreliability. She’s obviously gonna say good things about a brand that pays her, then go back on it when the money stops rolling in.
Don’t forget for a single second, that all her makeup looks are filtered and were under bright lights that alter what it really looks in real life or in person.

As a very much former Jeffree fan I would like to counter that he would actively look up the descriptions and instructions for what he would use and then drag them if they failed to follow through. He looked into and researched products.
I honestly don't care about the beauty makeup world but come on I've heard SO much shit about this girl like cool you're being honest now but should we even believe you cause you lied about stuff before

I feel like she might of intentionally reviewed products that she knew were not her style so that she could get credit for being honest. Especially because her followers know what type of makeup she likes and that she likes more full coverage and so they would be able to then use this as “evidence” that she is honest.

It’s a ploy for her, I think. She knows that she’s using a brand for her “honest” review that doesn’t actually fit her preferred aesthetic. Since she’s getting flack for faking, she’s being honest about a product that she knows she wasn’t gonna like.

I love how everyone hates jeffree but everyone knows that ecen if hes not a good person, his reviews were trustworthy and he didn't lie about his opinion on anything when it came to makeup. No matter if it was expensive products or cheap drugstore products.
I think people confuse honesty with cruelty. You can be honest in a kind way. I also think the dichotomy between her paid reviews and this review is what made it so startling to people. Jeffery is always harsh so people are used to it with him and expect it at this point but in this case, I don't remember her ever being so harsh?
