Battletruck was filmed on the Central Otago plains in New Zealand. Despite being produced by a Hollywood studio and being considered a Hollywood release, the film largely used New Zealand crew and actors. Very scary movie. I am scared at the first scene. Shooting at the truck from the horse wagon. Truck overtakes and stopped the horse wagon. Would the horse wagoners be spared if they didn't shoot at the truck?
Last seen mid 80s as a teenager. I appreciate them more now as a kid i used to compare them to blockbusters and consider them B grade flicks now as an Adult we understand they can't all be blockbusters because of cost in making them 🤣🤣❤❤ Good times

I don't like these kind of movie because what you are doing is discriminating against men. Because these kind of movies only shows men killing men but it never shows that men killing women. And that's exactly what's going on in this world. They need to take these types of movies off.
It depends on how much you found or suspected you would find in the case of storage facilities. I'd rather hunt for diesel when the alternatives were to climb on a horse or walk everywhere.
That's the conceit behind these movies. It mirrors human evolution in one way, first hunter gatherers, them farmers, then specialists. The fuel hunters eventually can't get enough fuel, other needs like food take precedent so we settle down. After we guarantee our basic needs, we specialise and find alternate ways of living like we did before.
diesel, peanut oil, kerosene, lightweight motor oil, oil from transformers, automatic transmission fluid, diesel engine will run on any of that with no problem except for smoke.
Even though it was a pretty cheap and nasty film, that final sequence where the truck goes over the cliff is really well done. Clearly inspired by the end of Duel, but I like this one even better.
They couldn't really make two since the truck was the main start of the show and they destroyed the actual vehicle (and not some mock-up) for the finale.

One of the very few decent Mad Max rip-offs.. Did I say few, maybe the only one... And whats up with the Hannibal A-team main villian. They couldn't come up with something a little more sinister creative 😕 Would of been a more interesting tale being a spin-off of Michael Beck's character Swan from Warriors. At least that was an interesting pre- dystopian film that had some what calibration of original Mad Max both coming out the same year in 1979..

Wow! The FX guys in this “movie” really didn’t spare the diesel for the two major explosions in this weird flick. Huge petrol flames!
Deisel doesn't light on fire. It's very hard to get deisel to ignite. That's why a deisel engine is compression and not combustion.
