17:40 Well, not quite. There was a similar homicidal maniac on the Cali highways 8 years earlier...but he was driving a souped '50s-era Peterbilt 281/309 with a tank trailer.
Anyone notice the Dodge turned into a Ford Econoline in the arial shot with the Z? Typical of these old movies and Tv shows. That was the fun part of watching them, looking for the bloopers.
We need vans like this all around the country to wreck the idiot drivers. The general population has no idea how to drive, merge or even change lanes. They should be forced to stay on public transport. Guy in the van is my hero
I remember watching this movie when it first came out. I always thought it was called the freeway fiddler because the driver of the van would always listen to fiddle music when he attacked
That van was a regular length Dodge Tradesman now if that driver had driving a an extended box fan he would not have handled that very good at all because that I believe it's two maybe three feet extra from the regular box fan it becomes highly unwieldy at freeway speeds if you're jerking the wheel side to side that back in will grab that whole van and it will flip on its side.
Dodge van got a blacked out windows as privacy. You can look out the windows from the inside, but you can't look inside the van. Vans are popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Vans can be in several different configurations, such as panel, like a mini school bus or a microbus, and a camper. Someday the "Van Man" will be in justice for ramming his van into other vehicles which all women are drivers. Many cars came with mini hubcaps (standard equipment).
With the right driver, that 240Z could give even Hellcats a run for their money, never mind a Dodge van. My mother had one, and she won just about every drag race cocky guys talked her into.
@@Datsunz-fr2nw Well, to be fair, you said a *280Z.* My old Lincoln can do that quarter-mile run. I was talking about a *240Z,* with my mother at the wheel. My uncle taught her quite a lot of the fine art of drag-racing by the time she got that car.
Now is this the movie where the bad guy is called The Fiddler? The best scene in that movie is where the guy sees some TV-reporter on his TV in his sleazy paint-shop, and then spray-paints his TV-screen over while she is on camera, lol!
Movies like this are why I don't drive. Moreover, if I did, and some psychopath started trying to murder random people on the freeway with a vehicle, the he would have learned that it would not been a good idea to try to make me into his next victim, as I would have made him reconsider his piss poor life choices via the judicious usage of a light anti-tank weapon upon his vehicle. This would be my response to Mr. Demon Possessed Serial Murderer in the van.

240Z and Dodge van....saw tis film in the 80s....i liv it..
Wow! I remember this from when I was like 6 or 7..but, i never knew the name of it! thanks for posting this!!!
The 70's...what a decade! the car's (American) were awesome, gas was cheap and Women looked like Women. Love your channel! thanks so much!
mike mikesbbody Gas was extremely high back in the 70s
@@jackwatters9502 , and so were some of the people, sadly.
when the 8-track starts the mayhem rocks.

Looks to me like a ford engine in a Dodge van.
In vanishing point the challenger turns into a 1967 camero before it hits the bulldozers
I had a 260z it was a fast car.Love this movie .❤
I really enjoy these hidden films. Thanks for finding them and thanks for taking the time to edit and upload them!

Lookin' for a mid '70s Dodge Tradesman Van like that, they were Kings of Custom Van's back then, DAMMIT!!! Mopar Nate Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
That van driver is amazing
kudos to you sir

R.I.P Abe Vigoda (1921-2016)!
Rocking out with my 8-track! Groovy
That van and that engine is some beast
Nice quality for a rare 70's TV-flick. Maybe from a rip of the early PAL VHS-release abroad (I think it had one).
Steven Fallon Abe Vigoda!
Could be from a tv broadcast last year.
This shows you how hard it is to buy the rights to these movies to digitally remaster and release them on DVD
Will Butter I agree it should be a DVD release with the all star cast
When the cars are Real cars!!!
Haha love those old dodge vans. I had 5 of'm.
Haha. I remember this was on TV in Denmark around 1982-83. They called it "Dræberbilen" = Killer Car.
when the 8 track pops in look look out things about to get real

David Tosh Weirdest comment left award goes to you for sure.
Sorry to see the van-man go. He was getting pretty good at his job. Hope that 8-track tape survived the blaze. 😃
marshalllhiepler ...Can’t a man enjoy a leisurely drive down the freeway while killing people without being harassed?
Abe Vigoda... was he born 80 yrs old?
damn that 240z only had 140 miles. that would be worth hundreds of thousands today
Umm. No. Perhaps 60k with that mileage
@@brettcannon74 Well, 60k's of what...? Different merch has different $$ value, even if the weight is the same. 😁

Could we watch this movie in HD? It is one of the forgotten movies that I had watched it in 80's when I was a kid and it had deeply impressed me.
Nono... is Final She Last Stoped and Van is Over Stop and Crash of Boom is Fire is The Van Drive is Dead...
That’s the Van Stephen Furst drove in Midnight Madness!! The one at the end lol
Don't give a horn signal to van in front of you because it could be a psychopath 😭
26:45 That van is history.
I remember watching this with my dad. The 70s' were terrible, cars blowing up at the slightest tap. Some exploded if you leaned on them wrong.
Michael Bay approves.
Bullshit,
Back when you used to drive at least 55 on the 405

It's funny how a lot of the cars they crashed in this movie, were only a couple years old, and looked beat to shit.
They should rename the movie, "The Van", or the "Mean Van".
...a 260z can't outrun a van...fucking RIIIGHT! lmao.
Death end
EXPLODES
yeah, the 70´s
And that's why they don't make 8 track tapes anymore.

0 to 16 in 4 seconds? How fast does it get to 60?
They could have removed the tow hitch on the mustang 2
Nice Attack of Van
Van keeps changing colors

The Devil Z is was The Van Fast Follow!
And all it took was a handbrake turn
Typical '70s-'80s use of a newly-built but still unopened freeway for filming scenes like this.
None of these explosions, including the last one, made any sense at all.
The Fiddler!!
Awesome movie but it amazes me that the killer was brutal enough to kill woman but use a turn signal to exit off the freeway into his death.
the fucking horns are what got them killed
get em old dodge

How about Madea vs.the Freeway Fiddler...the Fiddler would lose!!

I love the Datsun I hate this fuckin van🤬
