    You pretty much hit in on the nail man! Usually, people run into cone control issues when they 1.-have the subwoofer in too big of an enclosure with The amount of power being used, making it reach mechanical limits easier. And/or 2.-too much power at frequencies the subwoofer cannot safely play and remain within its mechanical limits, For instance, playing below port tuning with a lot of power and not using an infrasonic filter to accommodate that extra power. And/or 3.- just too much power in general, even if a subwoofer is in an extremely small sealed enclosure, there is a point where the amount of power given to a subwoofer will make it reach its mechanical limits, regardless of the techniques you’ve implemented in order to negate it. However that’s just one portion of “cone control” in terms of excursion in general. You can also take cone control to mean how responsive and accurate a subwoofer plays the material being played. Some subs are just better at sounding better, based on their design, but some things you can do to get better response “cone control” out of a subwoofer, is putting it in an enclosure that the manufacturer recommends for best overall sound quality, which usually is just a sealed enclosure that has a .707 qtc. And for ported designs, it’s the enclosure size and tuning frequency where mechanical limits are reached only if you apply more power than the subwoofers recommended rms rating. But in the real world, things like enclosure placement, the vehicle the equipment is going in and just overall quality of equipment play a similar role in getting good cone control for sound quality, as well as keeping the voice coil from traveling beyond its limits. Take it with a grain of salt though, I’m sure I’ve missed more things than I wrote, and I hope someone smarter than me can point them out so we can get good info to the people seeking it!

    I’m ported at about 9 cubic feet for my two 15 solo x’s on 18 solo x motors tuned to about 25hz :) And I have a Stetsom 8k export 2ohm tuning is different with these amps it has a gain knob of course, the high pass filter also acts as a sub sonic starts at 10hz up to 300hz I think or maybe 200hz no matter since most subs like 100hz and under and the low pass starts at 50hz so off the bat keep that at the lowest setting then it has a Bass level adjustment that focused at 45hz this setting along with the gain are very sensitive but that’s a good thing.im old school and tune by ear and watching my subs basically what I do is find a track that plays the lowest bass that’s is recorded with no distortion I turn down my 4ch amp all the way so I can just hear my subs I put the track on repeat and wait till the most powerful low bass hits. The old trick works of 75-80% max volume on most decks is a clean signal to test this put your deck on pause and start turning up your volume once you reach what you know to be 75-80% of you decks max volume you will start to notice the higher you go you’ll hear a humming that’s distortion since decks nowadays go up my single digits not just a knob like back in the day one click over 75-80% max will be the difference between a clean signal and a distorted one so be careful. So put your deck at the max safe level mine is 40 out of 50. I have a upgrade Alt and two d7500 batteries and double runs of 0 gauge for power and grounds and I’ve been using the same brand of amps so I know them well and the bass tracks I play. So I just put my gain at just under 3/4 and start the bass level at 0 and very slowly turn it up when I know the track is hitting the lowest parts. You have to be extremely careful doing this if your a newbie DO NOT recommend doing this. You listen for mechanical noise from your sub keep an eye on the surrounds and keep smelling the port if in doubt turn volume all the way down and touch the dust cap of your sub(s). Don’t forget subs will use the vehicle and or trunk as an enclosure and they will “load” especially in a trunk meaning once you close the trunk the sub(s) will actually have more suspension so just know that your subs will be a lil safer from over excursion once you close the trunk but just a lil bit. So far this works great for me my subs actually stay cool to warm and my amp never get much more then warm. I tried tuning this way with a 20hz test tone but found the tone pushes harder then bass tracks and I wasn’t getting full performance from my set up. Before you get the subs and the amps please get a bigger better Alt and some audio batteries you can not make good clean power ANY other way. Long message but I want to help other bass heads that are trying Brazilian amps. And for those who want to know I use dj dropn dropn beats low and slow edition track-deadly bass /;)

    Hi I've been watching your videos and I like them. So I have one question if you could answer it or make a video that would be awesome. So I have an American bass xfl 12 is a 3000 watt's and 1500 RMS and is either a 2oh or I could make it a 1oh what do I need to do to make it sound nice and loud with out using my db on the amp. I see that you only have on single speaker and I saw that your not using you db on your amp and I have a good box for my speaker and the box is tuned to 31 Hertz I got it from a company called ground shaker.

    • @JacobViral2
      @JacobViral2  ปีที่แล้ว

      Efficient built box will greatly affect output, suggest a custom box. Amp tuning helps but box most important. no Bass boost needed

    Hey Jacob, not every sub is built for 4th orders correct?.. I enjoy your videos.. keep'em coming. STAY UP, PRAY UP🙏

    • @JacobViral2
      @JacobViral2  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. Some will say only recommend ported while others allow sealed. Realistically any sub could be in a 4th order in the sealed section but some won’t handle it well depending on variables.

  • @brick2077

    Great topic. Do you think 79 square inches of port area is too much for 2 skar audio evl 12's?

    • @lowlowz2293

      I going threw that it depends on ur box size

    • @JacobViral2
      @JacobViral2  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on your box size but for your cone area is 226 so around 35% port area sounds about right just depends on goals of tuning and output. Suggest 14-16sq in. Of port per cube internal box if porter.
