Thanks for the heat treat opinion...only Schrade knife I have is the SCH 302 tank folder --a knife so strong that I could probably pry open elevator doors with it!
Thanks for showing us your beater knives buddy...say how well does the Schrade hold up to batoning? ...and what do you think of the heat treat that Schrade does on this particular model?
So that's a great question! I think Schrade gets them to like 58- 59 rc. That's actually good if that's true. However, just like the Jess-x series from Chris Tanner. There can be a hit or miss with there heat treat methods. But.... I have found that that Schf42d serves its purpose perfectly! I've had not one defect or fail and I've done pretty much everything with that blade. I love it...and I got that blade to beat up on it. So it's got a thumbs up from me.
