I've been collecting for roughly 15 years. I've amassed nearly 4,300 games and 150+ console and handheld variations. Speaking of handheld, I actually counted the other day and have 42 different Gameboys, 14 of them complete in box. When Retro Rick was at Southeast Game Exchange and visited Gamers Alley in Gastonia NC, I'm one of the guys Scott, Gamers Alley owner, was saying had a game room you should visit. The room is still a work in progress, but it's getting there. I have a short on my channel showing the collection briefly, but honestly it's already outdated.
VERY NICE collection the person brought it. I'm glad you were able to help him with his situation It's very tough but it made for a happy Rick plus the seller got to share it with all of us. God bless everyone, Happy Friday!
Im 39 and have been collecting since I was 5. Just casual collecting like 1 game on my birthday and 1 at Christmas if we were lucky, maybe a garage sale find here and there. Once I started working at 16 I started going a lot harder in the buying. I have around 3000 games, 20 consoles and around 30 different handhelds. Power Glove, ROB etc as well. My favourite isnt even game related, Its my full set of original print Goosebump books. I had always wanted them growing up but we couldnt afford them, so a few years a go I decided to find them all and read every one of them. Totally worth it.
Hopefully that guy paid for that collection with cash and not on credit. In one year, racking yp thousands and then having to sell it at a loss and still have the credit bill to pay would be an epic fail.
Nice to see that collection at the end. I've been collecting for almost 30 years and I have a lot of those games and consoles but not in that condition. I love that people keep these alive and they go to good places when sold.
I had a great NES collection a few years ago. Recently, I started back from scratch. But over the last 2 years, my collection has gotten pretty sweet! Almost 200 so far.
Dunno if someone else mentioned this before but if your storage building is privately owned you should ask about knocking down a wall to expand your storage and possibly save $$$$$$$ and effort in the end. I was in a band and we got permission to knock a wall down after practicing there for a year to the neighboring unit and they handled the job. I know it depends on the owner but something to consider if you haven't already explored other options.. like your own personal storage building. Cheers, peace,& love to all.
I've always had a small collection of games since I was a kid, but only in the past 3 years have I really been going all in on collecting. I just recently hit 1000 games in the past few months.
I’ve been collecting for approximately 10 years. The quality and quantity of that collection is insane, especially in only a year. Thankfully it’s back out to the community so someone else can enjoy it.
That actually makes perfect sense now😂 odd collab but when u give that extra detail why, its actually genious. I wonder if JNCO jeans makde similar claims that its the pair to have for ur gameboy😅
Depends on how hard you look for those deals. I haven’t been collecting as long as some people and I still find those deals. I’m proud of my collection and can’t imagine where I’d be if I started sooner. 😮
I have been collecting for about 16 years started around when the Wii Virtual console came out. Got me looking into games for other systems I never had or played.
That is cool that you have the Panasonic q game cube but most of them don't work just like Sony PlayStation x doesn't work, so you spent all that money to have a brick that collects dust. Puls you can only get it from Japan at the time, just like the ultra rare Japanese exclusive clear black N64 which you can only get at a grocery store and what is interesting is good luck trying to find it or buy it without paying an insane amount of money for it. Plus the clear black N64 is smaller than a regular N64 color. But still cool.
Been playing games all my life but I’d say I’ve always been a collector. As a kid, I rarely sold games (usually the ones I didn’t like, but that was very infrequent) I think I got really into it though around 2015 bc as primarily a Nintendo gamer, the Wii U sucked and I needed more to play than just 3DS games. Thankfully bought most of my GameCube and GBA stuff when it was still cheap!
I been collecting on and off but, it has been since my high school years in 2009 or 2010. I still my actual store bought systems and games from back in the 90s from my parents.
Been seriously collecting for about 5 years. Have some rare stuff. Little Sampson, a Press Kit, Duck tales 2 etc. Saving to get a CIB of ClayFighters 64 this coming year
Been collecting at least 15 years. Slow go at start then just started buying everything. Now it just NES and games I'll play. I seen my Kirby Super Star in the video I traded in last July.
Ahhhhh that Pokémon kiwi with crystal is the big thing I’m looking for as well. Remember opening that on Christmas back in the day. Hard to convince the wife it’s worth it.
I don't know if you have it marked, but if that Cyberpunk XB1X in the background is actuallly new, the first account that sets it up gets the game and expansion (plus it's Series X upgrade) put onto their digital XBox account for free.
Unfortunately it depends on how much money you make if you have a great paying job it's not out of the possibility, but for most people no is probably the right answer for buying so many video games because there exspensive. Like if you only make $18 to $20 thousand a year like most people who struggle than no we will be lucky to afford anything after paying for everything that it cost to live every month, doesn't were you live have to pay the bills first and than feel broke. That is just how it is even when you work at a grocery store, ever one thinks that when you work for a place like that you make good money but it's not true. I say get what you can afford good enough for me. That's the real world and plus a lot of jobs like that, I would say normal jobs you can get after highschool out the gate without going to college.
thats like me. I have like 80 saturn games some included panzer dragoon saga, shining force 3, dragon force, sonic r, sonic jam, and a few other heavies . started collecting a year ago plus I have another wall of stuff. I had to sell off alot lately but yeah I went heavy this year as well haha
Holy crap a boxed Hot wheels turbo racing for N64!!! such an underrated racing game and still the best Hot wheels game ever made. also it has a killer soundtrack that has Metalica and others in it for a "kids" game lol. its also on ps1 but pretty hard to come by so keep an eye out.
If a item is for your collection do you pay more to the seller and in the end do you just take from the store or do you pay for it and if you pay for it do you pay what you paid or do you pay what they would sell for at the store
ah, I thought you guys gave up on TH-cam lol. Nice to see this video and check in with you guys. Hope you are all doing well. These long breaks though... Anyway, Michael good job anchoring the ending there. I could also just watch you talk about stuff too, so if the big man is too busy to keep up with video uploads, how about you give it a shot? I like just seeing what you guys are doing all the time. It's really fun. And that Dragonquest 3 HD-2D remake... any thoughts from either Michael or Rick on it?
Is there something wrong with paying 30-40% of value then keeping a portion of that for your collection? I always think there is an ethical boundary where if you are paying such a low percentage, it should go back into the store. No hate, just an opinion.
If I knew you were looking for the GBC kiwi with pokemon crystal I would sell you mine and it is sealed in a box, new and never open. I already have another one of those that has been opened and played multiple times
Feel like we would suck as store owners we’d want to keep everything lol but it be so cool seeing the kind of stuff that shows up on the shop. We need that yellow trying to get the box as I have the game and manual in great condition just need the box. It’ll go along well with our first edition Pokemon red we also frankesteined and our Pokemon silver CIB lol

Where you guys been?? My favorite channel on TH-cam. These long breaks are killing me lol
We’ll be getting back to the normal schedule soon! Promise!

6:05 Michael must have been hungry too, because he was mesmerized by that cake.
Definitely one of your best uploads so far!
GREAT SCOTT! I want that DKC SNES set. 😻
Me too! Retro Rick, will you ship to the UK?!😅
I am 36 and still have my Ps2 from when I was 14ish and have kept alot from most of my life. I'd say I've been collecting 22 years lol.
VERY NICE collection the person brought it. I'm glad you were able to help him with his situation
It's very tough but it made for a happy Rick plus the seller got to share it with all of us.
God bless everyone, Happy Friday!
If that Kaiser chair had a little foot rest that kicked out it would be the perfect chair
Been collecting almost 2 years and am a proud owner of an unhealthy amount. 😂

If he did all that in one year, credit is not out of the question, especially if he’s asking for cash at a trade-in rate a year later… =\
@@000blocks000 yeah there's a reason he didn't wanna be seen on camera.
This content is award-worthy!
Nice to see that collection at the end. I've been collecting for almost 30 years and I have a lot of those games and consoles but not in that condition. I love that people keep these alive and they go to good places when sold.

Mario and Tails Statue in the office! Let’s Go! 🔥
I start collecting in 1987/88 with Hockey Cards & Stamps,1990 with Toys & 1998 with Video Games & I am still a active collector today!
But do you have Fortnite skin DLC packs?
11:00 That Mario Party 1 music hit me with a nostalgia wave

The Tommy Hilfiger Game Boy Pocket collab happened because the Tommy Hilfiger jeans had the perfect pocket size for the game boy pockets
That actually makes perfect sense now😂 odd collab but when u give that extra detail why, its actually genious. I wonder if JNCO jeans makde similar claims that its the pair to have for ur gameboy😅

Video seems weird, Low quality even on youtube high bitrate, Same with the audio, seems super compressed.
11:34 hardcore for about a year. Thanks to yall!
Ain't gotta be hungry to eat a donut...
The GBA game stand needs to angle the games so that they can be read through the top glass.
Dude blew his saving on video games in 1 year and had to sell it cuz he in Credit card debt. 😂😂

Rick has a personal YES man 😂
Been collecting at least 15 years. Slow go at start then just started buying everything. Now it just NES and games I'll play. I seen my Kirby Super Star in the video I traded in last July.
I am 24, I collect everything from NES on. Love physical media and hope to hold onto it, but I have collected for 5 years!
Ahhhhh that Pokémon kiwi with crystal is the big thing I’m looking for as well. Remember opening that on Christmas back in the day. Hard to convince the wife it’s worth it.

Usually I don't say nothing but his thumbnail looks like he's at the doctor at the office😂
Wanted to say again, I love the content. ❤

The real star of this episode was SLIMER
😂
1:58 think about all the activities we can get done
❤😊😊 24 years 😊😊
I never considered myself a collector. Im a keeper. I have been "keeping" games for 36 years.
Another banger ❤🔥🙏
The only question I have is how much did this cost y’all?
Is that the going rate for a loose copy of Pokémon Emerald? 😳
Damn Rickfest was so stressful. it made Rick's scruff go gray!?!?!
ah, I thought you guys gave up on TH-cam lol.
Can I buy the conkers cib? Thanks!
Do you still have the Tommy Hilfiger game boy?
Is there something wrong with paying 30-40% of value then keeping a portion of that for your collection? I always think there is an ethical boundary where if you are paying such a low percentage, it should go back into the store. No hate, just an opinion.
We miss the videos that you used to post several times a week. Are you still recovering from the convention? 😳
Word of advise maybe blur out the Storage unit numbers just in case someone knows where your storage is 🤨😎
If I knew you were looking for the GBC kiwi with pokemon crystal I would sell you mine and it is sealed in a box, new and never open. I already have another one of those that has been opened and played multiple times
1:08 I have that pokemon gbc
Show us more stuff in ur videos 🤘🏻
Wait. There was a second half to the video?
All I saw was that Slimer Ahhhh….
Feel like we would suck as store owners we’d want to keep everything lol but it be so cool seeing the kind of stuff that shows up on the shop. 1994 started collecting, but I only have 800 items. I ain't no youtuber buying 800 items every 18 months lol.

“is dung poop?” - retro rick 2024
I have ten retro consoles and hundreds of retro games all purchased in less than a year so it can be done
