    As a game store owner in Canada, it's crazy to see the gaming market in USA. A lot of our games are exact same price but CAD & USD are different so we are technically lower or for some reason, the games are more expensive in USA. Obviously, this is not the case with everything but I often see a lot of popular Nintendo titles going for $50USD when I can only sell them here for $40CAD as an example.
    That Minecraft and Mario Kart DD are perfect examples, I know they are overpriced at this market but I sell Minecraft $15-20CAD in store and Double Dash $80-100CAD which is always dependent on my back stock but I see them going for same or more in the US.
    Game prices are just crazy lol

    What's crazy as I know a lot of video game stores that are raising their prices because they see resellers profit off of their low pricing. As per usual the only one who gets hurt is the innocent gamer that I just wants to find affordable games to play. Just one reason resellers are the summer of the earth. Another reason is because it's not like you all just mark it up a little bit like you really take advantage. Like you buy a game for $5 you find out it's worth 50. You can easily make it 15 and make a profit. Nope 9 times out of 10 you're selling it for $50.

    • @TheRawred
      @TheRawred หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As someone that's sold trading cards and video games, 50-60% is usually the fair market value for store buyback, especially for bulk games which there are thousands of and can sit for years. We used to buy certain high-demand games like Pokemon for 70% because they would move quickly, but even that franchise started to crash in price.

    to be fair, the prices are very high because its in Cali and a collectors flea market. They are obviously selling enough to pay the bills.

    I just recently visited Frank and Sons a few days after Caleb and not one of those vendors were negotiable on anything. I have my toy hunt video up from Frank and Sons where you'll see a different perspective. I'm glad Caleb was able to get some deals but none of them especially the first booth he visited would negotiate, she wanted $30 for The Crow City of Angels VHS I asked if she would take the last sold on eBay which was $5 and she said no. That movie isn't worth $30 but I understand she's got high booth rent so I just said good luck with her day and moved on.

    The retro game market is just absurd, people are so blinded by nostalgia that they are willing to pay triple A game prices for a game made 20 years ago almost.

    Some vendors need to go back through and do some repricing. $140 for Mario kart and $60 on sonic riders is way overpriced.

    Honestly though, who is buying Minecraft on 360 for $45? Who is buying that?! It's a serious question. Where are these mythical buyers for stuff like that? At most that is a $15 game right now. Whoever buys that send me a message, I have a great deal for you on some Madden games too...
