It was a tutorial on how to find them there has been alot of questions about that !
@Michael mayhem He's not going to be able to record while checking out & paying. UNLESS he befriends one of the cashiers, like I did😉 My cashier pulls the penny items for me and sends me a text of my balance due. But this isn't common. Most cashiers will either give you a hard time or go pull any left product off the shelves once you leave.

My store manager makes us twice a week scan all clearance items and since we keep our store organized like we have to search through every shelf every night to find hidden items just to make sure there are no pennied stuff or stolen product. However the one a few towns over is so bad with everything, they are on their third manager in the past 2 months, so there is plenty to find as lond as you dont mind the mold smell.

This is definitely someone who's new to penny shopping himself. Calling corporate is NOT necessary. Just like with any type of couponing or discount shopping, YOU MAKE SURE TO HAVE A SCREENSHOT OF THE COMPANY POLICY on your phone at all times. Showing them the policy usually resolves the issue. But if they still give you hard time, definitely call corporate BEFORE YOU LEAVE the store.
I live in Scottsville KY home of DG, (the corporate office moved to Goodlettsville, TN) I dare you to find a Penny item at any store within 30 miles. Cal Turner the original owner of DG give back to the community. The medium income here is around 40,000, there are no interstates, no liquor stores, no retail stores, one grocery store, 80+churches and the kindness people in the world.
The new owners expect a lot from there employees at the store and warehouse for low wages. And they don’t give back to the community like the Turners
I had an employee ask me how I found penny items and how I knew what were pennies lol. I wasn't expecting that, and I told her I just scan a bunch of items in store and find them.

Christa's Coupons gives out the penny list on friday & tuesday is when they penny. You can also get the wall mart ap & get some really good deals there too.

It scans it per your store its marked down and will come up at register!

Yep, I was stupid and asked about the penny item at one of the store that is one block away, and when I show up on Tuesday, they have a trash bin full of the penny items that they took off the shelf. They are just mean, when I asked about the 90% items during Christmas, the manager told me to come tomorrow, and so I did but it wasn't marked down and the manager was hiding in her office and wouldn't come out. They also destroy any item they put in the dumpster. Just plain mean at that DG store, won't be shopping there anymore. Just glad their's 3 more within a 2 mile radius. Thanks for all the video's. Ok I subbed you made my list. I have a tip for you. Goodwill in so cal have $1 Thursday’s. I know which stores to hit in what order because I’m Queen of Bargain shopping. (I know habitat for humanity, Home Depot & Lowe’s tricks too) anyway my GW has brand new department store clothes, you have to be quick or you have to spend a long time doing it. Thursday is the day no one can get a hold of me. It’s my happy place.

Where I'm from also.. I finally found my first penny item yesterday
Also not all stores reset on Tuesdays so penny items will not be a penny until the store resets the registers. Had this happen to me with the calendars. Calendars were from .10 to .20 cents. Yes this happened on a Tuesday evening.

I found an item that rang up for a penny, the cashier called the. Manager who told me it couldn’t be sold as it was supposed to have been pulled from shelf and going back to them.

I'm excited because we're about to be getting some pretty big penny lists! Funny because my store earlier today, friend of mine who was in the store shopping on her day off told me that yest. The store manager found a 4ft. Section of misses active wear like sports bras etc. That all pennied. She was surprised and got scolded since employees are not allowed to purchase penny items. I was bummed because i totally missed it!

Once I got several toothbrushes that were marked down to a penny. They are usually the $3.00 kind it was a very soft toothbrush was a tongue cleaner on back.

I worked at family Dollar. We cannot sell penny items. I could on charge as little as a quater
I'm an employee and u have to sell the item that u found on the self u are not allowed to not sell them but after you sell the product u have to immediately take it off the self

I was in a DG I bought pair of pillows that rang up for a penny. The manager pulled them all and the employees bought them all. Since I found them I wanted to buy more of them. The store manager wouldn't see them to me. I didn't think to call corporate.

You don't have to use the paid app, the free DG app shows accurate pricing most of the time. I don't know if this has changed recently, but it scans and shows price, just be sure to pick your current store location.
My Dollar General's told me tomorrow they are going 70% off again, these are in KS, so you might check your local DG's. I found many things I could resell FBA & Ebay, I scoped them out today, printing coupons tonight and hitting them up as soon as they open in the morning.

Yes sorry I should have made that clear. 70% off clearance. I showed up right when they opened and did great! Hit all 3 stores and all were 70% off clearance. Winter supplies were already 25% off so was an additional 70% on top of that.

When I was at my store in Arizona and the manager is really cool she actually had a cart full of items for a customer that shops there all the time that she has been holding for 4 days now. She said the woman saw that they were going to be clearance this weekend. The manager didn't know anything about it but said she was calling her regional manager to see what the deal is. She told me she has tons of stuff in the back to put out for a clearance sale. Her thought on penny items is she's to busy to worry about them if they get them off that's fine but she said today when I found a few and I deserve them because she knows I spend money on the store. Also she let's you use as many coupons that will scan.

I know the people at my store would be happy to sell it to me. They are the coolest guys and gals, at any store. They have given me stuff free, if there isnt a tag, they tell the sales azsociate to just mark it a dollar. They are cool.

Yesterday they tried to refuse to sell the Rexall Laxative from the same list as the Ester-C. I told him that DG policy is if it is on the floor, he has to sell it to me. He was floored. Need any laxatives? Thanks for the app lead!

What you think is a penny may have been a recall item. Their register will prompt them not to sell the item as its a recall item. It will say can not sell on their register.

Actually they write a person up for selling too many pennied out items.
Employees don't get wrote up for selling to many penny items.
Also calling corporate even while you are there won't do anything cause by the time the DM gets back to you about it the penny item will have been pulled so by you calling corporate just helps get the penny item off the sells floor. They won't sell it then to you just because you called corporate.

fed up 0 we don’t get wrote up but it is an issue that gets brought up about not pulling the penny items off shelves. They are supposed to be boxed up and sent back. I don’t personally care if you find them. It’s the digging through products on shelves and leaving the store a disaster or bringing up carts of items and wanting us to put it all back after you realized you didn’t do your homework right.
I bought penny items but had to pay the clearance price. I forgot to scan it in the store but just now scanned it and it showed as 0.01. What do I do next; for the next time?

Intellectual property claim and when you get so many you can be suspended as seen on tv are very high in IP claims
If your going to do a series on penny shopping, you have to cover all shopper demographics. Showing just the items that you want to buy isn't catering to the masses. What if the rest of us do want the calendars but not sure what to look for. You have some major competition. There are some really good couponing & penny shopping channels available. You may want to step up your game...js
Wasn't the purpose of this video to show us the process of finding penny items, not to disclose the items themselves? You go to the recommended app and scroll till you find what you want.

You were supposed to have taken them down already. And people buy multiples they just can’t go back and get more.
Actually it is in the Dollar General policy. The policy states that if penny items are in a customers basket then you must sell those items to the customer.
It is true that an employee can be terminated for not doing their job by getting all of the pennied items off of the shelf. However an employee can also be terminated for violating the policy put in place by their employer.
I have been couponing and penny shopping at dollar general for the last 3 years.
I have not couponed for the last 6 month's but I am running out of fabric softener...going to see what digitals they have available soon.

So you actually do waste your time by calling corporate as no one is trouble. Corporate or the DM just says there was a complaint made and then the manager says ok they will handle it. And that's where it ends.

@@heidianntoinette4689 it's possible the store didn't close out registers correctly, so the system didn't update. Tell the employee you're sorry, you thought it was on sale (don't say for a penny) and offer to put it back. Then try getting it a couple days later, surely they will have closed down the registers by then.

Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong. Where at in the store do you find the 2 pack of poptars😆🙃. I’m so confused with the app I can never get the list to pop up what the products are for Tuesday. Kelly!!!!! You can scan the items click the middle bottom on bottom and then find the scanner. That app only people who find the items can actually put them on there its like an open source app!

Christa Coupons here on YT uploaded the new penny list for Tuesday over an hour ago. She actually goes thru the store and picks up items to show examples of what's on the penny list. This video was useless. It didnt give very much info & some of it was incorrect. May I suggest you watch a few of the other penny shopping at DG videos. Once you've learned the way, then you can teach others

I have been trying this penny thing for 6 months and have yet to find one item. Cant figure out what I am doing wrong. I dont have a regular I phone its a samsung android, but I can scan with it.?? I am gonna keep trying till june then if nothing I am gonna quit i guess. I know others in my area who find items so its not that the stores or the area. when I have asked the 2 ladies in area who find items all the time (one is a neighbor) she will tell me she found xyz but then wont say anything else..Its just very frustraiting

Just FYI bc I don't think he mentioned this. Penny items are supposed to be pulled. Penny shopping takes a lot of time and dedication. Also it's not every Tuesday! There can be weeks go by and nothing penny.
Most weeks there will be something, because new stock is always coming in so old stock has to be removed. And it's possible old items from previous penny lists are still on shelves, even from as long as a year ago. Always scan with the DG app.
but you are right, finding penny items will take work, they're not just all in a pile :)

As a previous employee, y'all are literally the most obnoxious breed of customer I ever dealt with.
There not as annoying as the Damm people that says there a five cent difference on one item and demand it be changed
not as obnoxious as the stupid employees that dont know the store policy on anything or act rude cause you think its our fault you choose to work at a job you hate or an employee who takes the items either penny or on sale before customers can. now that BS is obnoxious
oh and DG makes enough money off us if its marked a price then thats what we should have to pay regardless if its .05 or $10.00 fix it. it all adds up for us customers. just remember you would have a job any where if not for the customers

You should not call corporate right off the bat ask for the district managers number. Or get it from another store. Dont call corporate for penny items.
Well you can also get people fired for that. I worked there and we get notifications about them and we MUST get them off the shelves immediately. Now we throw them out and we tend to put them in clean bags because we feel bad.

Penny items are sent back to the distribution center. even calling the the DM won't do any good. No one gets in trouble and all it does is remember that you were the customer that tried to get her in trouble over a crazy penny item. You want to have the cashier as a friend not an enemy.
me my I worked there. We were just old to throw them out and I witnessed the manager get chewed out because she didn’t get them off the shelf and had to sell them.

If something was on a penny list 3 weeks ago and i find one why wouldn't it be a penny. I scanned it and it was 1/2 price not a penny.
Sometimes DG changes prices in the system because they are supposed to pull those items that are a penny

Sometimes the items aren't priced for a penny not because they are the wrong item, but because the manager changes the price of the item back to full price. Which they're not supposed to do. But it DOES happen.

Well I'm friends with a manager of a store near me and she is able to change prices. Even on penny items. I thought all stores had the same abilities...it's a corporation. If one store has access to price changes then all should.
I found sets of two 40oz bottles that scanned for $5. I asked the manager if she would ring them up separately and she did! 8 bottles rang up a penny each, and the manager was so nice about it.
