Just wanted to say THANK YOU for calling this model year car by its correct name -- the 1800S -- and not calling it a P1800 like 99% of the internet. Only the early Jensens were called the P1800. After 1963 they were either the 1800S, 1800E, or 1800ES.
I got only one thing to say: This car is awesome ! Right color, magnificent wire wheels, period correct fog lamps... the works. Larry, I'm dead jealous. You did a, patient, long haul but top notch job ! Proud Man ! Kudos!
They really are so gorgeous, I love them. My favourite part of the engine bay is the set of twin SU carbs. I have a 1970 mgb GT so I might be a little bias too
The Wrenchmen series is the best yet, especially the focus on electrical work, which is the most intimidating part for many. And so nice to see them working on such a wide variety of cars.
I love this channel I wish I would have come to Hagerty sooner as I have been tinkering with cars since I was 16 now 59 cars later I own a 66 Chevelle barn find that I have built and it is the keeper, when I'm done with it it goes to my Son. Keep wrenching Hagerty.
Your car is magnificent. I had a black '64 1800S that had rust holes through the floors. I've only ever seen one other black one. I'm jealous. And the chrome spears on the sides are awesome.
I wish i could find some one to help me with my 1933 Plymouth four door sedan, I am 56 in a wheelchair and I am so close to have my hot rod done. Been working on it over 20 years from a wheelchair and still have not driven it. had it almost done, got sick with my heart then it sat for 2 years, i got it running again then the new power steering pump went out from sitting and now i am having trouble getting the old pump off, and some other minor things. Anyway my car is on you tube, under Danny 33 plymouth 4 door sedan.
I had a '68 P1800S in high school and the poor thing was originally from Michigan and just rusted away from the inside out. I can't imagine restoring one of these cars. Mine was a blast to drive and literally drove the damn thing to hell and back, it had to have had well over 200,000 miles on it by the time I was done with it and it was sold to a guy that wanted to restore it.
What an amazing series. Giving hope to folks like him? Priceless. I thought just getting the engine running was end game too. GREAT ending. When is next episode?

Next my comment, I have noticed that every one of the cars you work on needs major brake work, have you ever considered doing an episode where you go step by step showing how to install, bleed, and adjust a brake system? Love the show by the way!

Took ownership of a 1966 1800S. It was abandoned on an estate property and mother nature was starting to get the upper hand. I have it now sitting off the ground on a car trailer built for it. I have at this point removed all of the ground debris, rodents, and vacuumed it out. I then started to remove all of the interior from it. That's where it sits now under cover through this past winter. I was able to contact Volvo over in Sweden an da was able to get some more info on the vehicle. Still looking for more on it. Would always love some advice on this project. Thanks. Bob

I've had 2 P1800's. 20 years ago, It was common knowledge in the Volvo community that Penzoil is/was the worst oil for these cars. The solvent content was too high so it broke down the gaskets. Use castrol.
had a 240 and now owns a 760 TD , full option , straight 6 .These are daylies , unbreakable , the water pump of the 760 is broken ,leaks like the Niagara falls , but hey ! Just fill her with water every 2 days and it works ! Brilliant cars from brilliant guys.
This is the app for the 123Ignition Tune+ distributor with bluetooth. You can set your own ignition and vacuum curve, which can be more precise than a pre set curve or a worn out distributor. I have a Tune+ distributor in my car and it is quite nice and can handle more powerful coils than normal points ignition systems. The app enables some features like rpm gauge, coil charge amperage, voltage and anti theft ignition cut off.

i worked with a land surveyor one summer in high school, he had a 1966 Volvo 1800 that we used as our surveyor vehicle. That was a fun summer.

I have a 1972 Volvo P1800E and I'm restoring it just enough to sell it. Not sure if you're interested in purchasing it - but it's in great condition.
The engine looks a lot like a ''B series'' Austin/Morris as used in the MGB,s etc.
