Shine is so versatile, I wonder how much the devs knew about how strong it was. They may not have foreseen using it with wavedash, but Falco's vertical ladders would be hard to miss. Cool stuff
The all star trophy specifically mentions shine being Falco's quickest attack, and the angle it launches opponents at. Devs knew exactly what they were doing.
Remember folks it’s not about how much you use it but how you use it. You pretty much always want to use it with moves that will build damage (unless you’re taking a trip to gimp city lol) because shines damage output is so low. Sure it has great knock back but with the right DI or SDI your opponents can get out and hit you with 5-8 hits and your stock is gone. It being an opener/extender is so important. It may be your best tool, but your best opponent will already know that. Plotting around it. 👍🏽
Don't listen to this guy I always beat him and he goes 0-2 in tournaments , he doesn't know what he's talking about, I usually beat him with my low tiers even
Considering how good of a move shine is, it's quite a surprise the space animals aren't runaway top tiers, like MK/Icies in Brawl. They are just top of the top tiers The reality is that without shine they'd probably be more like Falcon-level? Still really good but losing a tremendous amount of neutral game and combo game versatility
