Every time I see James Bond in anything I go on a four hour rant about the world we could've livied in if James Bond was simply in Super Smash Bros Melee. Mang0 throws games at genesis with James Bond? Jmook wins the first major for his character (solo james bond) in 20 years? Truly the better timeline.

Honestly, that just sounds like a yugioh player stating their opinion on whether or not Maxx "C" should be banned.
You get us started and we'll argue for hours about that damn card.
I genuinely believe that it's impossible for anyone to have a civil discussion about Maxx "C" without it dissolving into a bloodbath where people are at each other's throats.
For context on this thing you likely don't care about. Think about the Steve controversy in ultimate and think about how decisive that is. Now multiply that by water reacting with Sodium.
That's how big the divide is in the community.
And also, I feel like I need to go out of my way to say that Maxx "C" should never come off the ban list, and anyone who thinks it should is a fucking dumbass.

The Cringe Confessional that came out between these videos is classic Coney titled, so it might just be these specific ones.
I already watched both of those videos before the reaction, so I kinda appreciate knowing this is what I’m getting vs a typical Coney title where it could be Wheel Champ, ReactMojo, or god knows what. Those can keep the goofy titles tho

On the Fountain of Dreams lag situation, I heard at this point it only affects multiple sets of ice climbers. So basically a matchup that almost never happens, icies dittos, and people still say "No you cant have that itll have lag on this 1/5148 matchup possibility
I think people should at the very least experiment with stages like Wario Ware, the stage list in ult feels so boring and I think some bad characters would really benefit from WW and provide some more interesting approaches to matchups

I'm surprised that the characters models for the game weren't all already at their correct size and that they scaled them based on what they needed.
One would assume that they would have them already at the correct size.
Some stuff's easier to model bigger/smaller. Smooth curves usually
Modeling is small stuff is hard. Imagine modeling Pichu, with details, already on that small of a size
So they just model it bigger than shrink it to fit the game, just how an artist probably won't make an image in 360p even if it's the resolution that will be displayed in-game
To add to the other answers, you don't know how size will affect balance in the game when you are modeling the characters.
They don't create all of the models side-by-side with each other, they don't know how anything will look in comparison to the others until they put them together
@@adv78 That isn't really how model sizes work. The size of the models have little to no bearing on how easy it is to work on them since you can infinitely zoom so something small appears big in the software you're designing it in.
Images are different because they're already rasterized and can't be scaled as easily. Many times art is made in the size that it will appear in game, such as pixel art, because scaling can often cause warping. Making models is similar to making vectorized art since they're both just storing points for the software to rasterize from when the game is running using the given resolution.

The difference between Meteors and Spikes is simple.
Meteor Smashes are moves that send at an angle between 260 and 280 degrees, and the game lets you cancel their knockback with a jump or up-special after only 8 frames, making them essentially worthless offstage.
Spikes are moves that send at a downwards angle outside of the 260-280 Meteor range. Marth's Down-Air sends at something stupid like a 285 degree angle, meaning it just barely avoids being a Meteor.
Meteor Cancelling was removed in Sm4sh for being a stupid mechanic nobody liked.

Ultimate stages upset me man, why are they so big
Idk how the blastzones of these two stages actually stack up, but Kalos always felt enormous to me and i didnt like playing on it, then Northern Cave got added as DLC and i was like "holy shit, its the same layout but it at least *feels* smaller! I really like this stage, i hope i get to see this in tournament" and years later we still play Kalos cause people have wet dreams about the things they can do with the walls lmao
Don't get me started on hazards vs hazardless either. I do wish we could just toggle it from the select screen, thats dumb, but i still wanna use both with certain stages being deemed as hazards only and hazardless only. We have enough duplicate stage layouts (especially Smashville and the Kingdom Hearts stage) that you could easily separate them this way
I dont get the argument either that the players will accidentally pick the hazards version of something and then have to waste time going back to restart. Hand warmers do essentially the same thing and Ultimate literally allows you to make custom rulesets you can just pull up semi-instantly
IIRC the Gimvitational used this kind of format with basically no issues, idk why we cant just make this standard, i wanna get off PS2 for more than 2 games

To me, a read is an educated guess. The read is based off of habits your opponent is displaying. Where as a guess is based around no information.

Playing Melee as a kid, I used to hate fighting Fox and Falco cpus because they were so fast. This was before I knew they were the best.
I was a Mario main with Kirby and Ness seconds and would get so upset I couldn't beat my brother. The Marth and Falco main

So Japan is the bets region at Ultimate because none of them play melee? Whereas a lot of the US players who could be really good at ultimate play melee
There is some pretty decent Japanese melee players, but after the initial wave of melee, their community died down relative to North America since people could actually win money in NA as opposed to Japan. Wasn’t until more recently that Japan got back into Smash as a whole.

And I also wouldn't say japan is the best region for ultimate, but that depends on how you measure 'best' and what counts as a region.

Yeah, a better example would simply be "Reads" are educated guesses based on what you've seen/noticed from the opponent (ex: You noticed your opponent spotdodges a lot, so you predict that and charge an attack to wait it out), whereas "Guesses" are just doing something and hoping it works (ex: doing the previous example, but without knowing they spotdodge a lot so you're just doing it to see if it'll work)
Read is based off of previous interactions, or knowledge about a players habits or human habits in general; basically an educated guess. A guess doesn't use prior knowledge.
It's the same difference between playing me in poker vs playing a poker professional.

Best option is to play NTSC but mod in all the good PAL changes. Mostly buffing low tiers but leaving the high tiers unchanged. (Except for falcons gentleman pls fix)
