Totally agree: Movement, size, date complication, bracelet, hour markers. The dial color is great. But maybe TOO GREAT. Stunning, but does not always match up as a daily wear.
Yes I am enjoying my Aqua Terra Shades in Sandstone also have had it for one year. I get more wear due to the color. The brighter colors would have made it get less wrist time for me.
I have the standard Aqua Terra 38 with the blue teak dial. It's very similar to this Aqua Terra "Shades" version but the additional brushed surfaces and more subdued color make it better as a daily wear in my view. That red is very aye catching and looks fantastic in pictures, though.
I have a black horizontal version. The AD supplies an own rubber strap with it which I prefer to the bracelet. My only real complaint is the thickness. It always feels a bit too thick to me.
On the secondary market, I think the AT presents some of the best money:watch out there. Agree w/your wearability assessment. Feels like its sweet spot is ‘autumn casual’, with pairing options few&far between outside of that zone. Still…it’s a stunner of a piece!
Stunning watch, keep it. Those few weeks you have it on the wrist will be missed. I picked up the AP 15202 and I won’t sell it even if it gets less wrist time. I know I would regret it. Sellers remorse!
Great looking watch. Absolutely love the dial color. The one thing that holds me back from buying the AT is the polished center links. I never liked polished center or outer links. This watch is still a beauty, though. My favorite variation is the blue dial.
The AT Shades has too much polish for me. And I like the previous gen AT models with the 8500 movement. This watch looks great on your wrist, SC. I think the sweet spot for you is the 36mm Rolex sizing. Your new Pateks are stunning but I think they wear too large for your wrist (except maybe the 5205, intestingly). I believe your PP watches are all 39mm but IMO your 41mm Sub and your other Rolex sports watches wear better on you than the new Pateks and I’m not sure why. I love your videos and am I long time subscriber.
You are correct in your observations. The 5205G is 40mm, but wears smaller due to the concave bezel and scalloped sides. Really fits well on me. The 6119G is 39mm, but wears much larger because it is so flat and does not curve on to the wrist, and the thin bezel makes for a larger dial diameter. The 6119G really should be a 36 or 34mm (in my circumstance). The 5212A and 5226G are both 40mm and are slightly large on my wrist, but I am very ok with that, since they lean towards a more casual watch.
It looks so big for a 38mm. Lovely dial, a little restrictive colour wise. Overall a really nice looking watch - i also have an Omega i never really wear but im reluctant to sell it. The money i would get for it i would rather just keep it
I suppose it did look big on my small wrist, and in comparison to the Submariner. But in practice, it does look more like a mid-size watch. The Red dial looks incredible, but just too bold to be an everyday watch
1. I think you should part with this watch because it's hardly used, and I don't think it's primary limitation (colour) will become easier to accept with time. It's very challenging to match with conventional menswear colours. 2. The Atlantic blue variant is my favourite for its superior legibility and versatiliy. Sandstone is nice but hard to read.
I think the dial color is great, but your last watch was a Patek, so do many know how long you will keep this in the drawer. But this color combo is unmatched
My favorite is the last white/silver teak dial 38mm version. I've tried it several times, but each time I did, I couldn't get past how thick it felt for the size.
The teak dials look great too. I was never bothered by the thickness. It still wears well on the wrist, and makes it feel more sporty. The Aqua Terra is not a true dress watch.
Outfit colors need to be plain with this. Only one or 2 other colors, and no patterns. This watch is the accent piece. white shirt and khaki pants; navy sweater and grey pants, the blue chambray short in the video looked ok, grey polo shirt and jeans
Yes, you can do that. Scroll down to the bottom of the product page and it shows you how it would look on a leather strap: www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-aqua-terra-shades-co-axial-master-chronometer-38-mm-22010382013003
The giant date-wheel cutout ruins it for me. I'm normally a bit flexible but, that is the weakness of this watch. Otherwise very impressive, I have often been on the fence about it.

@@sc1 Yes, I was aware of that but there wasn't this beautiful red dial before. And the red dials are impossible to find so when they offered it to me, I just bought it. LOL
Love that colour!
It’s a great movement, great size being well under 40mm, and a great colour. Great execution of the date window and very legible.
Totally agree: Movement, size, date complication, bracelet, hour markers.

Very good. I thing the Sandstone would be more appropriate for frequent wearing. The color is less obtrusive, and more subtle.
Somehow the terra cotta goes with everything and nothing. Unique color. Keep it.

Sizewise it fits PERFECT on your wrist
thanks!

I love the aqua Terra. Personally I tend not to favor red dials but the design has always been one of my favorites.

Yep, not the most versatile dial color. But when it works, it works. And looks beautiful.

You're probably right. I am keeping it. But Omega is not up to the level of AP. I don't see why your 15202 would not be a frequent wear watch.
@@sc1It seems a lot more delicate than my Rolexes and I think my Patek 5227 is more dressy. But I will wear it a lot.

The polished bracelet is a minor complaint on my part. My main issue is that the red dial color is not extremely versatile to wear as an everyday.

Keep it. You have nothing like this.
I wish I could have one but I'm poor and can't have one but I'm still going to get a plastic watch 😔
I love this dial but I would struggle with styling it since my pallet is mostly blue, green, and natural colors. What do you wear with this dial?

I don’t consider it giant. It doesn’t really bother me in-person.
Srunning watch but its amazing colour could limit how often it can be worn
I am fairly certain if they invested a bit more effort into the clasp, Omega watches would be massive hits.
The butterfly clasp is suboptimal, but not a deal-breaker. They might do better by stealing some of that Rolex clasp technology.
@@sc1 in my opinion NY watch over $5000 should have a clasp with clasp and extension. it's $5000 after all. not cheap.
What is the lug width?
19mm
Is it too flashy for a daily ?
Yes, the color is very prominent and does not match with all outfits.
@@sc1 Have you seen the new black dial ? That thing looks amazing
@@verde629 I haven’t seen it in-person, but it looks great in black.
How does one grab a terracotta from Omega? I’ve waited 2 years with no success..is Omega playing Rolex games?
Same as Rolex. I had a previous Tudor Black Bay purchase and Speedmaster purchase from my AD.
"The movement is nicely finished, but not quite to the level of a patek philipe" well yeah....I don't know of may patek watches selling for 6k new....
