In my opinon one of the most beautiful timepieces you could by for under 10 grands. I wear an 38mm with a black dial for one year and im still in Love with this beautiful watch
I never thought I'd have a one watch collection until I met the Aqua Terra. I've since sold all my other watches and the Aqua Terra Golf (black dial, green seconds hand) on black rubber has graced my wrist every day since. Classy enough for work, sporty enough for the beach, the perfect "go anywhere, do anything" watch. I definitely prefer the symmetry of the date at 6, and the quick hour setting is so convenient for travel. And may I just say the way the light twinkles off the dagger indices is just magical..
A friend has this in blue on their woven rubber strap and it's basically the only watch he wears. I've never seen it look out of place whether he's at the beach/sailing, celebrating a birthday, or just running errands. A very versatile watch indeed.
I have a 1st generation aqua terra and I am looking to upgrade, but to a constellation. So I went to the omega boutique to check out the constellation and I was disappointed. So I naturally went to the aqua terras to check out the ones with white and black dials. They were beautiful, but the salesperson told me "check this one out.." so she handed me the blue dial on rubber one. It was absolutely beautiful, and probably my next omega.
@@AdamBA380 it was way too thick. I tried the 36mm diameter one (I have tiny wrists), so it looked nice looking from the top, but it was really chunky from top to bottom. Also, it didn't impress me aesthetically in person as it does in pictures. The new generation aqua terras look amazing though. The one with the blue dial was excellent, and it's funny because my style is dark colors so Ive never even consider looking at the blue dial one, so I was just so surprised by how awesome it was.
@@ricardosotosan2279 ah that's fair. Always a bummer when they look dull on the wrist compared to photos. That another thing I like about the AT. That dial, and the curved lugs, are such nice details in person. I hope it makes it's way to your wrist!
Yes! It's my daily watch, always correct on any situation, a mix of dressy and sporty, if i can say so. And fancy. I love it, as you can see by my words.
My daily wear watch used to be an Omega too, a cosmic 2000. But then I was gifted another watch by a relative and it's now my daily wearer, cause it has a lot of sentimental value to me. But Omega is still my favorite brand along with JLC, I love the Omega quartz models too
It's funny that Omega, despite its pedigree, is still underrated. Classic design and technical superiority over so many other watchmakers. Yes, they have a problem with brand identity but for what you get for your money..wow.
@@vianouche1 I assume it's a reference to the fact Omegas don't hold/gain value like Rolexes do. Well, rare speedmasters sort of do. Does any other omega model? Of course, that's due to the fact that Omega doesn't play the artificial shortage game that Rolex does. Omega will make as many of its standard models as it can sell.
@@TechnoLawyer But there are a number of different issues. First of all they have too many models to choose from, which dillutes their brand identity. Even well known models have far too many sub-variants. Furthermore most of their watches are too large imo. Last but not least - and that is probably highly subjective - but all of their watches miss that certain je ne sais quoi.
@@davidcasey1442 Exactly, and moreover the price range is so similar to the Rolex Datejust line...imagine if the price of Acqua Terra was near to the Tudor BB58
Omega is a grand brand and I recently got their first world timer. However, their catalogue is large and one too many “ limited “ and “special” watches which are anything but special.
The pre ‘17 Master Coaxial 8500 is also anti magnetic, and has twin spring barrels in the 38.5. Amazing watch. Technically superior to a date just in nearly every way.
Best advice I can give to everyone. Take your time and ask questions. I bought both of my dream watches this year, both Omega. One of them was the Omega AT 8900 with the blue dial. Good luck to everyone on their journey!
I got one for my 60th earlier this year and i couldn't be happier. I do agree that the date is sometimes difficult to read but i assumed that was down to my ageing eyes. Its a keeper!
100% appreciate that you had "AD" in large print, on screen, while you were presenting this. It shows a level of honesty and transparency that is often sorely lacking.
In my opinion that 38mm Aqua Terra with a white dial and black polish hands is the most beautiful Aqua Terra variant. Hands and indices make perfect contrast combination against the white dial, and depending on the light angle, they change shading from deep gray to black. No colors are spoiling this dial, it is a perfect monochrome, but still with shades of deep gray with mirror reflection and not a simple black and white combination against the dial. This works much better than any colored dial combination and better than a combination with the white dial. Regarding the 41mm model version, the white dial variant is only available with orange seconds hand and with a rubber strap. Too bad the 41mm version fits better on my wrist, and also I am opting for the jumping hour feature and 60h power reserve on 41 mm version against 55h which is available on 38mm version. Only with 60h of power reserve it is theoretically possible that watch may run unworn over the weekend until Monday morning.
I just purchased a 41mm…dealer had a tough time removing screws for sizing. I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I’m very satisfied so far, it’s my first luxury watch after rocking an Invicta for over eight years. Definitely the most expensive single item I have ever purchased other than a vehicle.
I have a 38mm black dial AT on rubber strip from an AD for over two years. It’s a versatile watch as you said. I have encountered two problems , (1) a piece of white stitch on the rubber strip closest to the bezel broke off. As a result of that, I took the AT to an Omega boutique for a repair. They said they never saw this defeat before. They couldn’t fix it but they discovered a mechanical problem that I didn’t notice, both before and after their warranty repair (I couldn’t understand their explanation too). I ended up putting superglue to stick the broken stitch on the strip myself. One wouldn’t notice the repair from normal distance. I don’t baby my AT, but I do take reasonable care of the watch. I’m in the fifties, and wear the AT in occasional swimming.
10:14 oh well, Jenni... They do put blue loctite on the screws of the bracelet, suppose to be not that hard to turn, just to make it more secure as I've had a lot of customer's watch got missing screw after being adjusted themselves. It's on the Omega guide. You need not a thin screwdriver but rather adjust it a little thicker to fit within the slot. Most of broken screw head caused by screwdriver doesn't fit into the slot, damaging both the screw and screwdriver, either outside the watch, or inside the watch like the movement. We used tension screwdriver and blued steel screwdriver filling to do it when I was working in the customer service
I bought a new model in 41mm, just shy of retail and I feel like it’s a tremendous value. I love it much more than my SMP. It’s an incredibly versatile watch. Blends perfectly well whether I’m at the office or at the lake. Nice to have such a versatile time piece. As Jenni said, you could wear it everyday for a month and may not run into a situation that it wouldn’t work for.
I owned the Omega Seamaster 300 which uses similar bracelet design and had attempted to resize it before and gave up. I eventually brought it back to the boutique to have it resized. I did get the chance to examine the screw threads and realised Omega did apply some loctite on it. Considering the short screw threat length, it is possible it get loosen during normal use without loctite. The aqua terra is a versatile design suitable for office and casual wear. It could be a one watch for most people. I owned a cal2500 aqua terra and worn it for more than 8 years as my daily office watch without problem. It is a keeper.
A mix of both dressy and sporty, I'd say. I agree with Jenni about the difficulty to remove the screws when adjusting the size of the bracelet. I took it to a watch dealer to have them adjust it.
I have the first Aqua Terra. I've owned it since 2006 and it runs perfectly. It's sleek and elegant. The co axel escapement is a huge plus, especially for the price!
Bought one of these very recently. Gorgeous, excellent fit (on my 6.75" wrist) and today, after 10 days, it's 5 seconds fast--5 total, not per day. I'm very happy with it.
@@diavalus Yes, that is crazy. Mine has settled in to about the same: +5 a week, maybe a little less. I'd say that's acceptable! I have an SMP released in 2008, the "Bond model." (Wave dial. Like the one in Casino Royale.) It's never been serviced. The case back has never been removed. And it still runs about +3 a day.
I think it was just last week that Adrian Barker suggested an Aqua Terra as an alternative to the Rolex Explorer. Honestly never gave them much thought until recently. I need to find one to try on.
I just bought a railmaster. Ordered online. Same exact issue with the bracelet screws. The jeweler told me, after he sized it, "whoever tightened those screws at the factory is an asshole". I had him break the seal, so to speak, on each screw, and tighten it by a normal amount, so that I can play with the sizing myself after the fact.
I bought the railmaster last month on sale from Watches of Switzerland, its the same bracelet design as the aqua terra and oh boy did I have an issue with the re-sizing luckily I took couple links out but I damaged the screw heads too much, I took it to WOS couple weeks after to get it properly resized. They said even they were struggling to re size it
After buying my omega on 2nd hand market I took it directly to AD and they adjusted bracelet within 15 min charging me nothing. I was really surprised and delighted :)
I had the same issue on my ol' Rolex Date 34 (1996) : my AD adjusted it in 5 minutes, because he has the small station to hold the watch and good tools. So it may happen on any watch !
Hi Jenni! I own the 41mm Green Dial AT and love it! It is a very versatile watch that I can wear in a bunch of different situations. My only complaint is that there is no micro adjustment on the otherwise very nice bracelet.
Another outstanding video Jenni! Back in 2018, I had a really tough decision whether to buy a Omega Aqua Terra or a Rolex Oyster Perpetual... I went for the Omega. Investment wise, I would probably been better off buying the Rolex but I have no regrets. I love my AT!
If you would have bought back in 2018 at an AD you would have doubled your money with OP. Omega is probably selling at 70 percent of what you paid. Who would have known though.
The use of a low powered soldering iron tip will effectively loosen the loctite. I think they use 242 blue, but the light duty purple is actually more appropriate for small fasteners. Better that than links falling out unintentionally.
Just tried one on today at the Nashville, TN Omega boutique. Debating between the AT and the Datejust. Wanting a simple, clean dress watch without the diver look with bulky bezel. The AT with white face is really sleek looking and the price is half of the stainless Datejust. The bracelet fit well and the Omega Associate was very knowledgable of his product and took about 45 minutes explaining the history and dynamics of the watch. I have owned Rolex’s and never been disappointed but the style and price of this AT seems to be calling me to the Omega family.
I have a 2014 blue dial 41m AT and I love it. For me it is both sporty and elegant (more elegant really)and the blue colour is a real beauty. It never disappoints
Fantastic review Jenni. Your videos just get better and better. My only small critique would be you don't need the music, it loops and distracts from what is an otherwise brilliant video with spot on content, setting and of course a wonderful presenter 😁 🙏
@@koolpep Lower would be good Ralph but when you listen to great presenters on interesting subjects you don’t normally need the use of music in the background. It’s a TH-cam thing that dumbs it down to make it polished. Jenni’s content is so high quality you don’t need the fluffy stuff, you just need the opportunity to really listen to what she has to say as if she were talking to you normally in a conversation or dare I say, giving a presentation or lecture.
Hi, you are the only one who explained the difference between 8800 and 8900 calibers. At first day I was very disappointed not to gave jump up function at my 38mm version and I think that it was a production mistake. Then I searched at Internet several hours then I found it. I am pretty happy especially the accuracy of the watch and its feeling. I bought it very very cheap price and I am also happy with my decision. Thanks omega.... Great watch that ever had. I had also oris diver 65 and I am also pretty satisfied with it. Now it is time buy a moon watch to complete my 3 watch collection under 15000 eu. Super video. Thank you again. Kind Regards Levent
my favorite watch i own. its so versatile and not over the top looking. pure class. 8500 based aqua terras cost alot more than 1,500-2000 in the united states.
Have owned a 39mm AT for about 10 years now and I love it. It's versatile enough that I can dress it up or down and the older models have the completely brushed bracelet which I prefer over the newer ones.
Ahhh the joys of the resizing a modern omega bracelet . Absolute nightmare with my 300 I could get some screws out but in the end had to give up and took it to the omega boutique. Assistant laughed and said it’s a common problem , they have a machine for resizing . It’s still a great watch I think it gives much more than the OP and with great deals to be had a lot less expensive..
I own a 41.5mm Aqua Terra, caliber 8500 reference 231.12.42.21.01.002 (it’s anti-magnetic, and is pre-2017, so her retelling of which models are METAS and anti-magnetic isn’t exactly right in her video). Black dial, date at 3, orange accents, on a beautiful light brown leather strap. I find that it dresses up or down excellently, though on leather it is a little bit dressier. But I’ve swapped out a NATO and spent time on the coast/in the ocean with it and it felt right at home. I intend to get a steel bracelet for it eventually. Love your videos, keep it up!
This is one of the best watches (value for money) out there. Very beautiful, versatile, amazing movement. You could’ve mentioned the rubber strap also, which is very nice and adds a sporty style. I own a black one since few months , sold my rolex datejust 41 to buy this omega and i dont regret even a second.
Agree 100% many beautiful watches ruined by that pointless complication (if you need to be reminded of the date more than once a day you've got serious memory problems!)
Just bought an 8900 in solid blue. I was shopping for a sm300, but once I wore the AT I was mesmerised by its impact! I pick mine up in December and I can’t wait! I am so glad that these watches seem to be flying under the radar… Thank you Tudor!!
Like you reviews. I bought a 3 month old Aqua Terra 41mm LNIB for $3,550 that has the 8900 caliber movement which is great for going through timezones as at the one stop crown out the hour hand can go back and forth without hacking the seconds hand and disturbing the minute hand. I have taken the bracelet off and put a Bond blue grey NATO strap on it that smartens it up. The bracelet presents a challenge and two of the screw heads have been damaged or stripped so I have ordered some more plus there are in two parts. Coming off at each end. If you drop the screws on the carpet. very hard to find as they are tiny. The shiny centre links are blingy to say the least. Like the date at the centre 6 position and the horizontal pattern with blue shade dial is PP Nautilus looking. This is an improvement over the previous AT model date at 3 position and vertical pattern. The appeal of this watch is that it has The Stop All Singing All Dancing factor. If you want to go on holiday wearing only one watch. Aqua = water and Terra = ground or land. The clue is right there. I would not go diving beyond 20 metres let a lone 150 metres! AR coating is superb and great clarity under water. Now going out at night to a club etc. The dial clarity is there and smart looking watch that is superb under a jacket classy enough with cuff links. Omega have made a home run. Having different strap options 20mm lug width would be the way to go. Rubber in the sea and high quality leather at night. The bracelet design and functionality does not do anything for me. Here is The Kicker - for the price I paid LNIB pre-owned for a Master Chronometer METAS double barrel movement 60 hours power reserve and the accuracy of mine is plus 0.25 to 0.50 a day is mind blowing not only value for money but specification wise. There is nothing out there readily available that compares. If The Aliens came down tomorrow and took away my 40 odd Swiss movement watch collection with Tudors, other Omegas, Sinn, Yema, Oris, Longines and many other brands, this watch I have, this would be the one I would want to immediately replace or if The Aliens told me I could only keep one. I would miss my Tudor P01 and Sinn 104 for sure! I have in the past owned PPs, APs, IWCs, Blancpain, Panarai and other high end watches. The quality specification performance value for money of my Aqua Terra blows all the others away. I thought that when I had the Ploprof 1200m with the 8500 caliber was hard to beat, this 8900 takes it to another level! With one of the cards that came with the watch, has a code to go on Omega and download the certificate that has lots of information about the testing of my particular watch with is test results. Never known that before. The stats are more that the old style COSC certificates I have had with other certified chronometer watches that have the readings at 5 different positions and 3 different temperatures.
I have this exact piece for close to two years now and still enjoy since day 1. The polished parts all have micro scratches (still is flashy!), but this watch wears superbly in every situation, have yet to experience it feeling out of place! From landscaping, to car detailing, to weddings this piece does everything so damn well! This is the mythical one watch for that one watch collection! That is until I obtain a Patek 5396 and Rolex 116613lb :). Also...white dial!
Hello Jenni, I love this watch and I consider it the equivalente, more less, to the Rolex Explorer I, I think it can be your only all purpose watch but without the hype of the Rolex.
I bought my 38mm black dial AT with the SS bracelet but just couldn’t live with it day to day; it was just too flashy. I bought the rubber strap w/ deployment made for the watch and immediately felt the watch was at home on that strap. On the rubber, the watch was sporty, but still elegant without being too flashy. I suggest you try the rubber strap too because it’s one of the best rubber straps I’ve ever felt.
I've been eyeing it as a "wear to office" watch. A light dial will match with my wardrobe. Thank you for modeling on a small female wrist! I'm in the same category!
I have a 38,5mm skyfall AT. It's a beautiful watch and really underrated. I feel your pain with the strap adjustment....My watch maker had the watch for 2 weeks to put 1 link in!
Great review! I picked up a 2007 version in silver dial due to the smaller case size at 36mm, classier plain dial, applied polished indecies, and specifically picked up a quartz for the reliability. Also comes with a quick hour set function. Love the Aqua Terra!
Thinking of getting one. I think it straddles the line between a sporty watch and dress watch. It’s stunner. I definitely prefer the teak/deck style dial over the newer shades versions. Silver, blue and Green are all brilliant. Wish I could get one of each
Been looking at this exact model for months now and absolutely love the look of it! The only thing I don't like about the AT is all the polished surfaces on the case and bracelet. I would much prefer a brushed finish similar to the new Railmaster.
I've had issues resizing Omega bracelets by myself as well. When I bought a Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich, for the life of me, I could not move a few of the screws.
If you don't have the right size screwdriver, it's impossible to size the bracelet. Once I ordered a 1.8mm screwdriver, I was able to adjust my Worldtimer easily.
Being the happy owner of an AT worldtimer, I can state that the bracelet is indeed the weak point of that series although I personally didn't have any problems with resizing. The problem would be more the lack of micro-adjustement and those flashy polished center links. A non-issue in my case because I wear it on the factory rubber or on leather. Beside that I have to say it has been a fantastic watch, maybe the most versatile timepiece you can own at any price. Classy, sporty, casual, precise, robust, I cannot think of any watch packing so many features, it actually IS the perfect "one watch" collection in my view.
Patek and Ap dont have micro adjustment too but people crazy for them. That micro adjustment issue is so popular nowadays which comes weird to me. If you desire the watch in this shape then go and buy. That is simple. There are half links there that the micro adjustment watches dont ve. So the result is same at the end
@@Fb1907kysf I guess the problem here is terminology : what I called micro-adjusment is in reality called "on the fly adjust" or the possibility to adjust your bracelet at any time without tools by micro increments. Once you tried it, you cannot live without anymore in my experience.
I have the 41mm version and absolutely love it. Most of the rest of my collection gets a day or two of wear, this is on my wrist most of the time. I switch between bracelet and the Omega five stripe grey and black nato. The switch instantly changes the whole vibe of the watch, elegant and conservative, with a touch of flash to rugged tool for a purpose. I spend time in some rough parts of the world and it’s on the nato then as it’s not so obvious.
I have got a 8500. Wonderful piece. But in leather bracelet 🙂. Nevertheless it gets even better in rubber. Those metal details are so wonderful. Nevertheless I believe that the 8500 is the sweetest choice of the line, regarding it's price. Pretty nice review.
OMG the Loctite situation is horrible!!! And it is a factory issue too! I have owned 2 Aqua Terras 2 Globemasters, 1 Speedmaster and One Seamaster 300m. All had the problem. I PUT THE BRACELETS OVER A GAS BURNER. That was the only way to get them loose. Boiling water, a lighter, etc won’t work due to the version of Loctite they use. I have ruined links too. I’d love to know how the AD does it. Current theory is a soldering iron on the screw for a few seconds. You didn’t mention the deployant being too wide. I’m sure you noticed. Great video thanks. Oh yeah the 8900 movement was accurate to about +1 second per day or even less. Never slow ..and I’ve owned 3. Spectacular if you love accuracy like me.
I had the SAME frustration with the bracelet on my AT but, once I figured out that the screws were glued, the hair dryer actually worked for me pretty quickly. Thanks so much, Jenni, for another great video!
@@JenniElle I’m the same, I always prefer to size my bracelet myself, mostly because I am very particular about how the clasp gets centred on the underside of my wrist, but I had the exact same problem with my Moonwatch. The extreme amount of thread locker meant that I damaged a few screws as well and this was AFTER trying things like a hair dryer and immersing the links in just-boiled water for a period. I saw someone on TH-cam take a blow torch to their links (which worked) but I was too concerned that this could discolour the steel. I’m with you Jenni, I *highly* recommend if someone buys a new Omega they get the AD to size the bracelet.
The German way has the accent more in the first syllable than the English way. (I'm an American who speaks fluent German, btw). Oh-mee-ga is a pronunciation The Urban Gentry seems to have invented himself.
I went to the boutique to get a Planet Ocean and walked out with a silver dial and blue hands AT. I was instantly smitten with it, and didn't take it off for a month. Shortly after I acquired the Planet Ocean I wanted and it's a real toss up between which to wear every day. But the AT is a perfect mix of style and function, it's dress enough for black tie, and subtle enough for every day wear.
I am trimming down my watch collection , the black Bay 41 Stainless steel with the date and an Omega Aqua Terra 41, I like the white dial and the golf edition with the green second hand. and my Seiko SKX 173 .
So I used to think people who said this are kind of douchey... but I just switched from a 114060 Sub to a 116710 GMT and it doesn't have the micro adjust and.... I get what people mean now lol.
I thought of buying an AquaTerra but a few design missteps stopped me. Not a fan of butterfly clasps with no on the fly adjustment and the minute hand only has lume on the tip making it hard to read in some situations. I’ll stick with my Explorer.
I have a 6.5" wrist and this is the one I opted for. I love it! It really doesn't feel too big as I feel like it wears smaller than what 41mm would normally entail.
I have an 8500 38mm on a blue dial master co-axial and it is really a beauty. It's been in my watch box for a couple of years now and I never wore it because I couldn't lose those screws and was too lazy to go to a watchmaker. However, I've just bought a blue rubber band and it looks gorgeous on it. The level of finishing and quality of this watch is impressive. The best piece for the buck.
Great timepiece! I have the 41mm version in blue dial. It is just perfect. (I totally agree with you when it comes to the bracelet, it took me a while before I could actually unscrew the screws, but in the end I was able to do it by myself) Congrats for the channel and the wonderful videos 💪⌚
Wow Jenni, you’re such a nice addition to the watch scene. Really love you(r videos) :p But videos and presentation are on point! I really like the green dial version but I need it in 38mm
Hi jenni I have been trialling an aqua terra golf addition homage with a white dial and blue hands to see how I liked it before buying the real deal.. it's far more versatile than my seamaster 300. As a sports watch it's great as a dress watch it works well and it works so well with many different colour and types of straps.. I am now on the hunt for the right watch... a great video..
I wanted to buy an AquaTerra, but then discovered the Constellation Globemaster which I liked even more. It has got the 8900 movement in a 39 mm size and a brushed case and bracelet. Omega's bracelets look nice but they are a pain. No micro adjusts, no glide lock, sticky screws... in the end I replaced the bracelet by a leather strap.
I've got the 41mm black dial and its a great watch. I looked at the Rolex OP as well but in all honesty this is a better looking watch with a superior movement. The OP design was just eh...a bit dull.
Good that you got the 41mm, so many people don't get the proper size and end up with a 38mm that might look good in the display window but is too small on the wrist!!
I have a Longines Flagship 35.6mm black diamond dial in steel (L.888) with a black ostrich skin deployant strap and I love it as an occasional on my 8” wrist! It has a discrete luxurious presence. Without the diamonds it wouldn’t work for me. The much smaller size than my nine other watches ranging up to 43 mm without lugs helps to play down the diamonds. There’s times I just don’t want too much of a watch on my wrist and this baby does it for me. So yeah, size doesn’t always matter. Like ladies, i’ll take anything from 5’ to 6‘5“ tall. As long as she is stacked in all the departments from head to toe!
@@TheSpritz0 thank you! Every time I see videos on watches the presenter is always like “36mm is the perfect size you don’t need anything more”. The whole time I’m standing here 6ft4 with 7 3/4 inch wrist like yes I do. 36mm looks ridiculous on me. My dress watches need to be at least 39mm.
I have adjusted quite a few Omega and other brand bracelets before, but I ran into the same issue with my most recent Omega Seamaster purchase. I didn't want to risk ruining the screws, so I sent the bracelet back to Omega and specifically told them to remove more than enough screws and individualise them, and send it back to me in pieces so that I could adjust it perfectly myself without worrying about not being able to remove a screw. They sent it back in one piece but they had obviously loosened each screw at that point, so I had no problem adjusting it to my perfect fit. It is ridiculous that they loctite it like that. Save the loctite for the end user to apply or a jeweler after they know they have the perfect fit.
I recently purchased a white-dial Aqua Terra Chrono. I love it. I think its style straddles both sports and dress. In a business meeting under a suit, it looks de rigeur. I like that it’s not gaudy or flashy.
That high polished middle link on the bracelet is both a thing of beauty and it’s Achilles heel as it will be a real scratch magnet. Comes over brilliantly in your footage though, thank-you.
I have the very same watch. Same size, same color. Same experience with the bracelet, as well, but I almost always wear leather straps, anyway, and quickly put this one on a very dark brown cordovan that I *think* I got from Nomos. This guy very quickly became my go-anywhere-do-anything watch, and has remained so, almost two years later. It's tough enough to withstand anything I'm likely to encounter (downpours, magnetic fields from computers and such, some knocking around), it's accurate, and it looks great with absolutely anything. In addition to being part of my regular rotation, if I'm getting dressed in the morning and I'm not sure what watch to wear with that day's attire, or what the weather is supposed to be like, or what I'll be getting into, I grab the AT. Every single time. Whatever I end up doing, whatever the weather, whatever else I'm wearing, I know it will do the job and look great doing it. Short of cleaning out the garage or running a chainsaw, I can't think of a situation where I simply *wouldn't* wear this watch. This AT would be my one-watch collection. It simply can do anything I do.
This was my 50th birthday present - the opaline/white 41. Bought on rubber strap, and have had no interest in switching the strap to the bracelet. Just love the watch - look down at it constantly. NOT my only watch, but certainly could be. Great review!

Which model did you go for? Was it on the rubber or on the bracelet?
@@trollse8714 Read the text properly
@@ricardosotosan2279 Hell yeah! What let you down about the Constellations? Our of curiosity
@@AdamBA380 do you own an omega or another time piece?
Last but not least - and that is probably highly subjective - but all of their watches miss that certain je ne sais quoi.
uhhh I think most people know Omega is a premium brand.
What was the other?
@@Iuckylukey I bought a 42mm Planet Ocean 8500 with the black dial right after the AT.

@@derekbrettell8121 but mostly true, very few other channels are on Jenni's level or beyond.

@@vianouche1 I couldn't agree more
Just bought the the 41mm version with blue dial and blue rubber strap and I'm totally in love with it.
I own a omega at, but still wear my invictas for utility purposes. Great watches all.
This watch is so low profile and elegant at the same time.
I just added this to my list of must-haves. I didn't know that it blew away the Millegauss in terms of magnetic protection also.
True but it's should be 39 mm in my opinion
What do you mean by "low profile" ? I think it is the best all round watch in planet,
I have a 38mm black dial AT on rubber strip from an AD for over two years.
The pre 2017 AT without the framed date window was already METAS certified. The AT with the framed date window wasn't.
I have seen and heard of watchmakers using a butane torch on the screws. I suppose you have to be extremely cautious so as to not damage the metal.
@@1114gabby that's only when the screw is rusty
I bought a new model in 41mm, just shy of retail and I feel like it’s a tremendous value. I love it much more than my SMP. It’s an incredibly versatile watch. Blends perfectly well whether I’m at the office or at the lake. Nice to have such a versatile time piece. As Jenni said, you could wear it everyday for a month and may not run into a situation that it wouldn’t work for.
It's just "incredible value", not "an incredible value". We don't say "this is a value", we say "this is good value".
I’ve been wearing the 41 mm with a green dial for a few months now. It’s a perfect everyday watch.
You don’t hear about this particular model very much. Glad to see someone else enjoying it! I think it’s fantastic
The green dial is a stunner
Have the same watch. One downside is that bracelet polished parts scratches from air. In 4 months looks ugly. Wish I went with PO.
@@MrMastaaa just get a factory rubber, it totally transforms the watch, making it much lighter and comfortable. The bracelet is kinda terrible.
@@marvinberwart Green rubber strap did not exist when I got the watch and honestly speaking I cannot find it now either.
These Omega movements are very accurate. Mine run about 5 seconds fast a week, which is crazy to think about. Enjoy wearing yours!
How could it be an alternative being in a totally other league technically?
“Majority of wrists that are watching this video right now” that made me lol 😂 that’s one way to say it hahaha
Pars pro toto.
so sick and tired of women seeing me as just a wrist.. the wristification of men has got to stop
At the store: --''here's our women's department and there's.....the other majority of wrists department''--.
Don't they put lock tite on the screws?
I bought the railmaster last month on sale from Watches of Switzerland, its the same bracelet design as the aqua terra and oh boy did I have an issue with the re-sizing luckily I took couple links out but I damaged the screw heads too much, I took it to WOS couple weeks after to get it properly resized. They said even they were struggling to re size it
@@dinan4459 I only damaged one screw head before I gave up and took it to the jeweler.
You got the better watch. Screw resale.
The Aqua Terra is an great watch. It's beautiful without being overly stated and has a great movement (Rolex does not come close).
My wife gifted this exact same model to me last week and I love it! I could stare at the dial all day. It looks great with every outfit.
I have a preowned aqua terra and love it, you’re right it fits with almost any outfit. This and my g-shock for working around the house and im set.
I llllluv that watch. My only complaint 19mm lugs on 38mm model and wish it was a bit slimmer.
Sort of disagree, maybe a bit lower in volume, but a soundbed in general makes it more pleasant.
@@koolpep Lower would be good Ralph but when you listen to great presenters on interesting subjects you don’t normally need the use of music in the background. It’s a TH-cam thing that dumbs it down to make it polished. Hi, you are the only one who explained the difference between 8800 and 8900 calibers. At first day I was very disappointed not to gave jump up function at my 38mm version and I think that it was a production mistake. Then I searched at Internet several hours then I found it. I had also oris diver 65 and I am also pretty satisfied with it. Now it is time buy a moon watch to complete my 3 watch collection under 15000 eu.
Super video. Thank you again.

I passed on the 41 Aqua terra because it lacked the quick date. I bought the Datejust instead.
my favorite watch i own. its so versatile and not over the top looking. pure class. 8500 based aqua terras cost alot more than 1,500-2000 in the united states.
Have owned a 39mm AT for about 10 years now and I love it. It's versatile enough that I can dress it up or down and the older models have the completely brushed bracelet which I prefer over the newer ones.
What year did they move to the polished bracelet?
Ahhh the joys of the resizing a modern omega bracelet . Absolute nightmare with my 300 I could get some screws out but in the end had to give up and took it to the omega boutique. Assistant laughed and said it’s a common problem , they have a machine for resizing . It’s still a great watch I think it gives much more than the OP and with great deals to be had a lot less expensive..
Great review! Team 8500 movement here. I also prefer the vertical teak pattern.
Your comments on the difficulty in removing links are really important.
Such a beautiful watch. If I had the money the post 2017 would be my one watch collection.
Love my Aqua Terra, very versatile, you can never go wrong wearing it to any event, formal, casual, sporty just perfect for everyday watch
I'd like one of these with no date. I really dislike date complications. This is a sleek beauty.
Agree 100% many beautiful watches ruined by that pointless complication (if you need to be reminded of the date more than once a day you've got serious memory problems!)
Agree. I've got a $30 Timex that looks like more thought was put into the date display than this one.
Just bought an 8900 in solid blue. I was shopping for a sm300, but once I wore the AT I was mesmerised by its impact! I pick mine up in December and I can’t wait! I am so glad that these watches seem to be flying under the radar… Thank you Tudor!!
Jenni's vids are a level above most the rest. Details that others never cover, but concise, fun, and great visuals. Killing it.

I’ve had similar experiences with Omega bracelets and impossibly tight screws... finally used a butane torch to loosen the locktight!
I WANT THIS. Problem is, i dont have 5000 Euro to spare. Great review, Jenni. I like this format.
Classy, sporty, casual, precise, robust, I cannot think of any watch packing so many features, it actually IS the perfect "one watch" collection in my view.
ohhh the world timer is so beautiful! Good point about the missing micro adjustment - that would be the cherry on top!
@@JenniElle thanks M'lady!
It is a stunning piece indeed!
Yes it's a "bulletproof" movement. Omega already made it too good, and had very little room for improvement. METAS is more gimmick than substance.
Happy to hear the hair dryer worked for you :-D!!
I have a 2022 41mm on the rubber strap and I wear it like a sports watch to the beach. It’s so light and comfortable in the wrist.
Everytime jenni said omega. I just felt that tingle of joy
....because of the German way of pronouncing it?🤔
Its "Stotted" for me!
Lovely watch. Would love to hear your views versus the newer Globemasters. Especially about whether the price jump is worth it. I love those 😍
I am trimming down my watch collection , the black Bay 41 Stainless steel with the date and an Omega Aqua Terra 41, I like the white dial and the golf edition with the green second hand. and my Seiko SKX 173 .
Stunning. But no micro adjustment. That's a big issue for me
So I used to think people who said this are kind of douchey... but I just switched from a 114060 Sub to a 116710 GMT and it doesn't have the micro adjust and.... I get what people mean now lol.
Once you have it, you can't not.
I thought of buying an AquaTerra but a few design missteps stopped me. Not a fan of butterfly clasps with no on the fly adjustment and the minute hand only has lume on the tip making it hard to read in some situations. I’ll stick with my Explorer.
The 41mm version actually wears pretty good for it’s size in my opinion.
(I totally agree with you when it comes to the bracelet, it took me a while before I could actually unscrew the screws, but in the end I was able to do it by myself)
Congrats for the channel and the wonderful videos 💪⌚
Just bought this watch through Chronext - never bought nearly new before. Excellent service and LOVE the watch! Great review Jenni, thank you.
Wow Jenni, you’re such a nice addition to the watch scene. Really love you(r videos) :p
But videos and presentation are on point!
You are really losing an opportunity for free branding when you don't say: hi! I'm jenni!"
( I love when you say that!)
@@TheSpritz0 couldn't agree more! 40-41mm is the perfect size for most watches. 38mm is waaaay to small unless you have incredibly small wrists
@@derekbrettell8121 100%!!!
One of the most comfortable metal bracelets I’ve worn on a watch.
Try nautilus
Try IWC
good tip on using the dial colours to make the watch appear larger or smaller. This watch looks fantastic on you, btw!
This woman’s voice is amazing! 💋
She has a really distinct but subtle accent. Fun listening to her talk
@@youraveragepasser-by7367 is it an English accent with subtle German undertones?
@@Soarin8 Purely German, but not that strong. As he said you can clearly tell, but it's not caricatural. Quite intriguing in my opinion :)
@@Soarin8 At first, I thought she was English, so I think you're correct!
I was thinking German by the way she held her fingers to indicate the number 3.
I recently purchased a white-dial Aqua Terra Chrono. I love it. I think its style straddles both sports and dress. In a business meeting under a suit, it looks de rigeur. I like that it’s not gaudy or flashy.
Got one. Love it. It keeps perfect time and looks good with everything .
That high polished middle link on the bracelet is both a thing of beauty and it’s Achilles heel as it will be a real scratch magnet. Comes over brilliantly in your footage though, thank-you.
Same as the speedy's curved lugs, super nice but don't last a week lol
Love the Aqua Terra, would love Omega to brush those mid links.
The older AT's had brushed mid links, definitely made them wear less dressy...
Love my aqua terra golf 41.5, change bands all the time. Incredible piece, definitely underrated! Great video Jenni
8:23 U mean your 150mm wrist... 😅
Either that, or she's She-Hulk, and she doesn't look like a she hulk.
@@LymanPhillips LOL
hehe
haha yeah you're right, my bad 😂
@@JenniElle No worries though, great review! 😁👍
Beautiful piece. Someday maybe I’ll have the budget. A man can wish.
@GreekNeek Sweeeet!
I love that you explain the watch thoroughly in chapters. Love the aqua terra, dream watch for me.
This has been one of the watches I’ve been obsessing over too, lol! That and a Cartier Tank Francaise, and a Grand Seiko Spring Drive. ❤️
This was my 50th birthday present - the opaline/white 41. Bought on rubber strap, and have had no interest in switching the strap to the bracelet. Just love the watch - look down at it constantly. NOT my only watch, but certainly could be. Great review!
