Decem præcépta
Ego sum Dóminus, Deus tuus, qui edúxi te de terra Ægýpti, de domo servitútis.
1. Non habébis deos aliénos coram me.
2. Non assúmes nomen Dómini, Dei tui in vanum.
3. Meménto, ut diem sábbati sanctífices.
4. Honóra patrem tuum et matrem tuam.
5. Non occídes.
6. Non mœcháberis.
7. Non furtum fácies.
8. Non loquéris contra próximum tuum falsum testimónium.
9. Non desiderábis uxórem próximi tui.
10. Nec ómnia, quæ illíus sunt.

I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
1. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
3. Remember that thou keep holy the sabbath day.
4. Honour thy father and thy mother.
5. Thou shalt not kill.
6. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
7. Thou shalt not steal.
8. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
9. Thou shalt not desire thy neighbour's wife.
10. Nor any thing that is his.
