While I will never buy one, this is still a good video. Nice job.
By the way it weighs 2.7kg for those who use metric.

basically why I'm worried about buying anything bigger than a dread from forgeworld.

It seems like 40K models never 'just fit.' I wish Bandai had a line of something similar.

My wife got me this for Xmas. Im going to put it together this month. This video will be invaluable. Are the hatches up top openable so you can optionally put in the pilots, or did you have to affix them permanently. I'm hoping mine goes together easier then yours. Also, I'm kinda a magnet junkie. Any suggestions for magnetizing the turrets for rotation and ease of transport?

Thanks Rob! Question from first video: How did cutting the large injection flash sections go? Any tips for getting resin bit flush after hobby sawing off the excess?

if forge world is going to keep making big models they need to get their act together and make sure the parts line up properly. It would cost me $900 to get this model in my native currency and to get parts that don't fit is just not good enough.

I was looking at it too for about $900 after tax - it's a lot of money for a lot of work if you don't get a good kit.

Id really love to buy, but seeing the trouble you had putting it together makes me think twice. As you said, for the money someone is laying down to buy one the quality should amazing every time.

true but ive seen alot of other ones out there that are just fine too. So its hard to say really

It's disappointing to see the fit issues. I had this guy on my radar but I don't have the time or patience for another, "fix the forgeworld resin" models. I actually bought the Manta (hull number 87), which in hindsight was a complete mistake. The thing is such a disaster to build that it's been sitting in pieces for almost two years now. I had hoped forgeworld had fixed this for the bigger kits, the Tau'nar for example went together really well all said. There were a couple small issues but nothing major.

On the good side though I love where they are going with the magnets.

I have 2 of the old baneblades I managed to complete one, but the other has sat half completed for over ten years now. The tracks are a complete nightmare.

Am I the only one or am I seeing this wrong? The parts haven't been washed yet and are still shiny, not a drop of paint will stick on them!? 🤔

Wow.... this is horrible. You actually put it all together and glued? What about paint? Take it apart to paint, then all the time spent fitting it will be wasted because it would have to be refitted again and all the existing glue needs to be scraped away.
I fir mine together, assembled as few of pieces as possible, test fit, ground/sanded/whatever I needed to do to get it all to fit. Then primes and painted.
Also.... that is a HUGE cavity in the command deck. I dremeled mine out and installed a 2 AA battery pack, switch, and two red LED's for the interior. Looks BAD ASS. Magnetized all weapons and doors.
I never considered myself a 'pro' modeler. But I do now.....
