Hmm, I think you accidentally left the microphones at 90 degree off axis in the plugin while you were switching between them
Came here to say this! So it sounds like he’s singing into the side of the mic. Hopefully he reshoots with 0 degree axis so we can hear some better examples. 🙏🏽

UA is really getting into the home recording market in a big way with the price on the SC-1 and SD-1 dynamic, which I think needs another look now that the modeling software is available.
I just got my sc-1 and I’ve had the tlm 103 before to me it sounds like an enhanced tlm 103 and when you set it to tlm 103 on hemisphere it’s like a perfected tlm 103

Was almost ready to purchase the Sony C-80 until I stumbled on the announcement for this one. I'm a huge fan of the C800 sound, just the versatility of the SC-1 makes me lean this way. Still a few weeks until release here, which one would you suggest? Just got into the whole UAD eco-system with an apollo solo which i mainly use for the Avalon. Just noticed: You left your axis at 90 degree while switching between the mics, should probably redo that part haha
Hey what's up? Yes, the C800 and C-80 sound great.. With that being, I think the SC-1 is a solid versatile option. Especially with your new UAD eco-system. Yeah, I noticed, lol. I recorded the song on 0 so we are good. The voiceover part of the video was completely separate and I wasn't using it through the screen display.. Only on the playback part. Thanks for looking out tho!!!
How does the sound of the c80 compare to the LD-800 in the hemisphere plugin, Because I'm also looking into the C80 or the SC-1. Which one would you go with, C80 or SC-1? @@archiebeatz

Considering that the plugin must be placed on the Apollo console first I would lose Unisson.
well I got the tlm 103 and it don't sound like that UAD just made and plugin with eq of each mic
for the price 499 I would grab the sony c80

Yes, after I explained the video but the original mix of the song is at 0. When I start explaining at 4:05, it's on 0 (the original session/recording). I left it on the 90 degrees during the explanation which was an error. When you scroll through the different mics they are default set to 90 degree.

I'll mainly be recording rap vocals and R&B singing for both male and female talent. Whats the differences between the SC-1 and SD-1? Which one would you recommend for my needs? Additionally, if I were to expand my budget, would you suggest considering the UA Sphere LX?
This one is better than the SD1, trust me. But you could easily make something great on a Rode NT1 which is cheaper. And you need a good interface or an expensive microphone won’t sound that good.
well it is Universal audio so yeah I'm not surprise that Universal audio is good Because Universal microphones are very high quality no cap

Interesting. A slightly cheaper shittier alternative to the Spheres. I got the L22 before UA acquired Townsend. Would like to compare the modeling to one of these.
do the mics like this one, the sc1, sphere lx and dlx have different price points because of more mic emulations available? are the emulations closer to the original in the sphere lx and dlx? or is the mic itself just a better microphone as you go up in pricing? or both?
The Sphere is a dual capsule microphone which is why you can model multi pattern mics and adjust the pickup pattern. This is just a single capsule, thus Hemi-Sphere
