    On our 03 the mount is different we changed both belts without having to lower the engine or unbolting the mount took twenty five minutes, the super charger tensioner is directly below coil packs

    Thank you, just changed one of the belts on my 97 Park Avenue Ultra. Stupid design with that support strut right in the middle of the belt, forcing you to take it partly off.

    Make a video on how to do that engine mount that that bracket is attached too lol. I'm doing my water pump for the second time and I forgot how hard it was the first time 7 years ago. Love hate relationships for this car. Most of the other stuff is easy to replace but anythingvl around that brace in front is screwed.

    Thanks very much for this video. Only problem is I have to look at a video of how to remove the supercharger belt, I removed the belt but won't come entirely off and out of the way for some reason (?) I hope someone did a video on that one. Thanks again. By the way the vehicle I'me trying to fix is a 96 Riviera with supercharged.

      I have a 93 SC PA and yes changing the water pump is a pain in the neck. Why? The Supercharger. Supercharger on GM 3800 cars makes repair a total pain. Better to have a non SC vehicle.

      There are a couple possibilities here. The closest complete pulley I see is listed as idler pulley supercharger and is a gates 38009. I'm not sure whether that's on the supercharger itself or the supercharger belt. Another option would be to either look for a part number on the side of the bearing itself. You can also call your local autoparts store and give them the measurements of the bearing and they can commonly look it up that way.

      @@BlakesGarage1 yes see I couldn't find any info exactly on the changing of that also online, I will call around, I know there is no way I should have to replace the entire SC just because the pulley on it is going bad, also a second thing, is there any issues on running the vehicle if I take the belt off until I find the fix, my main serpentine belt controls all the power steering, ac and water pump

    • @BlakesGarage1
      @BlakesGarage1  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @caylee3277 No I don't believe so. Definitely don't need to replace the whole SC. Tye pulley might be the way to go though because I'm guessing it's around $20 vs a $15 bearing

    • @christen1075
      @christen1075 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Emergency to limp home...maybe. Remember what this belt drives. Alternator, meaning no recharging the battery. Eventually you're run out of juice, especially if this is at night and your headlights will drain. Power steering? You may have arms like Popeye going around corners. Will handle like a 1960 Ford Galaxie. AC? Forget it. Water pump...this one would scare me the most and the quickest. Your temp will probably rapidly climb, so lets hope you have a gauge. Cost of a belt is about $17.93 on Amazon. Cold in WA State, but I just ordered one for my Riviera as I noticed one of the ribs fraying. "Get 'er done".

      I changed my oil recently and when I opened the hood I saw the SC belt hanging loose. I had no idea how long it had been like that, but about 5 days earlier, I noticed a significant drop in my fuel economy. Could poor fuel economy be a symptom of a non-functioning SC belt?

    • @james4lifepatterson755
      @james4lifepatterson755 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes u can drive it! Mine snapped off and I still drove it around for a couple of weeks. But the power isn’t the same. You will not have the get up and go as you would with having the supercharger belt on
