I find this so moving. These young people are so thoughtful about finding the right person, and clear-eyed about love coming later. It seems so brave to allow themselves to be filmed while having their dates and discussing their dates and concerns afterwards. Brilliant work on this.

Darling there are many lonely widowers out there. I have been widowed 2 years now. I have met 5 women so far, all looking for that knight in shining armour. My hope is that I will be led to a good, honorable, loving and caring man. I sensed from your comment that the 5 women you spoke of may have been gold diggers. I may be completely wrong and if I am please accept my apology for that assumption. There very well may be someone out there that is meant for you. This was a great series. It allowed a view into a different culture and did it such a respectful way. I agree with everyone saying a series or update would be wonderful.
Better than lol " Married at first sight" ...now that's crazy..... I only watched two episodes...lol....Yes you can 'know' your soul mate at first glance...and yes ...you 'can' love more than one person...but 'that' love will/is different...
Terrible pressure mom put on those two young people. All that crying and hysteria! Jeez. Both seemed very sensible and respectful. I hope their eventual marriage works out.
The Mom did the best for her daughter. So they are maried now and everything is fine. Love to children dos not mean to stay aside and watching them struggling.
@@anjahorn allowing your child to struggle is part of parenting and having them grow as individuals. If you go and swoop in on your kids, tell them what to do, every time they struggle, then they'll always be children.
People should love their spouse more than anything. A marriage is sacred and a gift from God to mankind. It is to be cherished and appreciated. Your spouse should be your best friend and your best support.
This 3 part series was a fascinating window into a seldom seen way of life. When I watch things like this it helps me understand other religions and cultures. Thanks for the education.

I agree, I like the idea of a match maker, I do wish they wouldn't be so pressured in the meetings, just relax and enjoy meeting, of course no touching ect

@@sherryjohnson3804it’s just the nature of things. Since dating is more formal in our culture it tends to feel bit intense. Although hopefully when I meet the right guy - the dates will be a pleasant experience
No social system is perfect, but as a black American, I wish that we had this kind of unity and cohesion. If we did, our situation would be much better, and we would be much stronger as a people.
Tulip Purple Yes there are very admirable qualities in this culture, but it also excludes the 99% of other people and their beliefs. That’s not conducive to collective harmony either.
Unity and cohesion, if you want. But you shouldn't overlook the fact they have made subdivisions of subdivisions of subdivisions of their people, and they don't really look too much beyond their specific little group.
Wonderfully bitter-sweet documentary. I wish that all cultures/religions were supportive in this manner without some of the clearly fanatical aspects. Wonderfully made. I actually wanted to see more.
I felt bad for Dan he’s so inexperienced with the world and almost seems afraid of his own shadow! I’m happy he chose to just go back to his studies and not owe anything to anyone. Smart move.
I really don’t get why the husband dedicates his life to study while the wife brings in the income. If you want to study, then study but also work. That’s way too comfortable for the guys. Not only that, if the wife works outside, she has to take care of the household, kids and husband? No way. The thing about receiving welfare is a shame, specially when these are strong , healthy, young husbands.
Yes, and as a Christian I believe it is incredibly ungodly. The Bible says that a man that doesnt work to support his family is worse than an unbeliever. These groups have made "studying the torah" an idol, and do exactly what the bible tells men not to d- send their woemn out to work and have the responsibility to keep the home as well. Its all totally bogus.
Selahsmum .. I agree. They have placed The Torah before anything else. I understand it’s God first, spouse second, then family etc. But I doubt God is wanting all these men to be studying and nothing more. That’s what evenings are for. Man up, be the responsible head of the home and take financial care of the family. I partly blame the parents for supporting the newlyweds for a year or two. God does not like a lazy person. They seem to take from the Torah what suits them.
This was an extremely enlightening documentary. I have several Jewish friends (mostly in the US) from either Modern Orthodox or Reform backgrounds - but this gave me a real insight into ultra-Orthodox communities and their way of life. Put it this way - the life of a very religious Jewish woman would not be for me! But, for these young people, it's normal and commonplace and, most likely, all they've ever known. What struck me was how...formal some of their dates were. Almost like a job interview. And you could really sense the pressure these young people feel (both the men and women) to find a perfect match, get married, and have a family. My heart went out to them (especially Merav - made me grateful to grow up in a society where divorced women aren't considered damaged goods. Well, not always...). I don't think, however, that kind of pressure is restricted to Orthodox Judaism. I attended a Pentecostal church for several years - and that community was OBSESSED with marriage and babies. Our pastors were constantly playing matchmaker, trying to pair up all the young, attractive singletons (never mind that there are verses in the Bible which state it's beneficial for one's faith to remain single). It was not at all uncommon for couples in our church to marry young - and if you were still single after a certain age, the anxiety would begin to creep in. In our community, 25 was practically over the hill! Plus, the methods of dating shown here aren't radically different to what I observed in the church. Sure, Christians might be less...business-like in their approach, but there was a laundry list of rules for dating. Young men would consult with their pastors and elders before asking a woman for coffee. Once you were dating, boundaries were pretty strict - plenty of couples wouldn't kiss until they were standing at the altar. Couples would have an "accountability buddy" who would check in with them and ensure they were keeping things PG-13. They'd be encouraged to be guiding by faith, not emotions or "butterflies". And yeah - it was certainly not unheard of for couples to get engaged in pretty short order (admittedly, though, within a few months, as opposed to a few dates). So, watching this was interesting, but not necessarily shocking. I've since left the church - I didn't fit in with that world. But I respect my Christian friends and how they choose to live and love, as they do for me. I respect how the young Israelis in this doco choose to live and love. I do hope they all find happiness and fulfillment, with or without a wedding.
It's sad how much pressure is put on these young people. I agree how much the dates are like job interviews. It's sad how their natural feelings and urges are suppressed and they don't have much time to decide whether or not a person is the right match. In the western dating world it takes most people around a year or more to know if there's a future. It takes time to get to know someone and sometimes you don't see a person's true colours until much later. They could get married and the partner may turn out to be abusive or that their personalities clash too much. Whilst I like how in the orthodox world, dating isn't all about sex, it doesn't feel natural. It's like they all get married out of duty. It's sad that there isn't that lust there and real space for getting to know each other. How can the couple really get to know each other is the guy is studying all day. The couple would be separated for 2 weeks each month because of the menstruation laws that dictate a husband and wife to do not touch. Also the couple are expected to have kids pretty quickly and when the kids come along you don't have time for each other. Although Christian dating lasts over a much longer period, up to years, it's still so unnatural that a couple must suppress their urges and wait until marriage to have sexual intercourse and relations. Intimacy is such a huge part of a relationship and if there isn't that sexual chemistry there, a relationship can deteriorate. Yes friendship and partnership is absolutely important in a relationship, but there needs to be that something more, that spiritual, sexual and romantic connection.
Wow. My general experiences in churches have been the opposite - including Pentecostal / similar.. in the West, that is. Marriage was almost something you weren't allowed even hope and pray for...! It was seen almost like 'what is wrong with you, God is enough, just be content'.. so I am glad that at least some churches have the opposite approac. Not sure if playing the matchmaker is always the best option either, people need to have freedom and enough space to breath, in order to make their decisions without undue pressure and manipulation from others. Well-meaning friends and their efforts can do lots of harm as well, unless they are discreet and respectful about it.. In my neck of woods, no one bothers to introduce anyone, it is considered that 'if God wants, it will happen..', which I am not sure is always true either (God wants us to be His hands and His feet on this earth)... Blessings your way!
So sorry for Yehezkiel, however that was a big step ahead for him: learning that love comes from the heart and not from a rational decision. Everyone experiences being rejected. He wanted to be able to choose and the opposite happened. God makes you learn like that. He is very deep, genuinely looking for the truth, and he will make a wonderful husband very soon I am sure. Beautiful documentary by the way, very well shot. Thank you for sharing!
"What's the basis for the connection?" the one young man asks. Aside from the wish to procreate, the "the connection" here seems to be a complete lottery of chance.
Merav epitomises everything that’s wrong with this system. Out here in the secular world, any parent would be proud and pleased if their son brought a young lady of her calibre home to meet them, but there she’s “used goods”.
I don't know one single divorced woman who is a nice person and pious and did not get married. She wanted a guy who was not Sefardi, and he could not have this or that. People like that -man and women- who make up their minds about who they want to meet before they meet them usually end up alone, in the secular and religious world, and in many countries and cultures
Yes, that's a horrible concept. I didn't like that she was so obsessed with just one ethnic group. Maybe if she'd been more open to other cultures she would have had better luck. To me it was almost bordering on racism. She basically reinforced what I have heard of Ashkenazi Jews.
I felt so bad for Yezekial. He was sweet and he told his friend that she really opened up to him. No holds barred. Then she goes on a 3rd date with him and holds back. I could tell by her face as he was telling her all that he felt for her, that it was going to be "no"! She told him she likes to take things slow, but she looks at him with no feeling at all, not friendliness, no warmth at all. Merav the Law student should meet up with Yezekial...He's employed as a scribe.
It was interesting to read your viewpoint about Yezekial and Bloom's dates. I saw all bit different way. Alhtough Yezekial was honest and wanted really to meet his soulmate, but he always was wondering about himself. How HE feels, what HE think about her future bride. On the 3.-th date he knew she is the one, but he did not realised, what the girls thought. I did not see frigidity or unfriendliness on her face, but uncertanty. she was'nt yet there, where the boy was. This short time was not enough for her to get him know well, and to have feeling toward him. She was all at see, but he did not see this. Because he just saw that his dream will come true soon. (Well, it did not happened so).
You are right it is certainly not time enough for anyone to know each other. But from what I have gathered, in this community that is not unusual. But although Yezekial's friend was advising him (with his wife at the table) that he will know the person later....and love her more later, he seemed ready and the girl seemed very young and NOT ready. On the other hand Esti is also very young just 18, but is ready to love a family, and wants to marry! After four (or was it 5) "dates" her mother (worried sick about the reputation of her daughter) was getting sick over it. Of course this situation is not for everyone. Bu it was very interesting to watch, and get a view into this community. They struck me as very gentle and decent people, and I find it repulsive seeing so many hateful comments.
I am absolutely agree with you. This film fascinated me too. It is a brand new culture for me to. I am not familiar with ortodox life at all. It was interesting to see how they think about and handle the partnership and marriage. It is very interesting to see what is important for these people and what are they worry for. Anyway. They take the partnership and the private life seriously, and these young people opened up their hearts and thoughts for us. This is brave and respectable act. and such a behavior doesn't deserve critic. Actually no culture deserve hatred or desrespect. Because everywhere live honest people.
Yes... for such a private group, this was huge for them to be opening this up to the scrutiny (sometimes miserable scrutiny) of others! I don't know if you want to see more, but I got this recommended and had no idea there was more. I don't know why I never realized it was part 3 of 3 🤔 and I watched it anyway. Not sure if you or anyone here saw all 3 but here is a link to part 1, I haven't watched or even found part 2 yet! th-cam.com/video/ldrXbhrCbeI/w-d-xo.html Blessings!!! ☺️
ladilu777 ... I find the Jewish life very interesting. I watched a good one last night and learned a lot, especially what Kosher really meant, the reason for keeping dairy separate from meat. The reasons for 2 different food storage, prep and cleaning areas in a kitchen. The different types of Jews, which interestingly, several of the different ones in this video weren’t mentioned. How often do today’s kids actually sit and talk, and discuss their interests, beliefs etc.,instead of movie dates, heading to the beach, and more often than not, end up in bed within the first date or so. There are some lessons to be learned from these young Jewish kids.
They are the only ones I liked in the whole series. Much more down-to-earth and relaxed than the rest. Esty's mother......sorry but I'd hate to have such a drama queen as a mum.
@@yodservant It must be a huge psychological effort to offset being treated as "damaged goods" in daily life. The law studies might be the only thing upholding her self-esteem.
This was so interesting. My favorite man was Yehezkel. He should not settle for someone who isn't as sensitive as he is. I guess we will never find out what happened. I hope he's happy and someone appreciates him. He's so special! I don't like the pressure that these young people feel. There is a follow up special on this documentary, and he does eventually marry Blumi! Apparently she initially rejected his proposal because their families couldn’t agree on certain things.
What an amazing documentary. Being Irish Catholic i can understand a lot of what their families want for them. At the same time being pressured at a young age is stressful. Especially since in Catholicism there is no divorce. You stay in the relationship or you stay.
lol there is divorce now...plenty of it in Ireland. My parents didn't want me marrying a protestant, we left religion behind and eloped at 20 and 21 in Barbados. Happily married 20 years now.
I am not Jewish but this was a cute video and I wish everyone well, I too would like an updated episode 4 to know how everyone is doing today. I dated a Jewish girl in college for awhile but we had to break up because her parents hated my guts because I was not Jewish and we both knew it was not going to work but I loved her and should have married her and told her parents to back off. My last year of college I met a sweet young lady from Texas and we had a good life together so it all worked out in the end.
Making me crazy to know what happened to the guy at the end. The one whose marriage proposal on the third meeting, date, was rejected. Did he find love? Did he just “get married?” Did he give up? Come On! Don’t leave us hanging. Part 4 please.

I absolutely love the conversation the newlywed man had with his friend. The friend basically wanted him to continue to hang out llike a teenr, and the newly basically explains look I'm a man now. I've put away childish things. Being young with no responsibility was great, but I'm past that now. That's how men used to be in this country. What is weird to me is how it seems to be pretty common for young people to be divorced and even with children, because they marry so young that can happen more easily. This rush into getting married with someone you barely know does not make sense to me
It works for many. My wife was a blind date. I was in the Navy and she was in college. She was visiting her best friend during Christmas break at our duty station whose husband was my supervisor. I saw her for three days and then she went back to school. We started writing letters daily. In the middle of April I was on leave and I took her to my Uncle's wedding. She took a Greyhound from Philadelphia to New York too be there. On April 15 I asked to marry me and she said yes. Then she told me I was invited by her parents to visit them in Southern New Jersey. They knew something was up because I was the only guy she'd ever invited to meet them. It was all arranged before I had asked her to marry me. We had not seen each other since New Years Eve. She planned for us to marry when she graduated in September. It was to be September 9, 1972. We wrote letters from April to September. Her parents were not too happy over this. I was a stranger and in the Navy and after we married she'd go with me to my duty station. I was 21 and she was 22. On Tuesday well be married 48 years. We saw each other in person less than 30 days before we married. It's been a solid marriage with a son who is a pleasure to have with a good wife and terrific Grandchildren. I've seen a lot o people especially in New York who were engaged 5 or more years with the marriage lasting less time than the engagement. I know of one that lasted two weeks after a four year shack up.I have friends on their third marriage. I think these people are putting too much into this process.
Me and my husband been married 20 years this June and no marriage is perfect!! We separated for almost a year to figure things out but never did we considered divorce!! You have to take that thought out of your head! Nowadays couples a have a big fight and the first thing that they think about is divorce!! Marriage is a compromise within the relationship! Being stubborn and wanting everything your way will not work!! It's that simple!! As the years go by and the kids are grown you start to appreciate your husband or wife more because you mutare now! The things that were important to you in your 20s are totally different in your 40s! I promise you! Make it work if you can or choose your partner wisely from the beginning!! Don't rush into a marriage for the sake of being married it won't work out!! God bless everybody!
I think, love is something which grows over time with your partner. Just living with someone and knowing abt him/her makes you fall in love with that person.
Bella Bijou...I agree. I liked that Esti knew and had the courage to be her own and not commit to the first guy just because it seems their religion at times. Hopefully she will be happy with Ariel.
My mothers name was Bella...and you are right. We watch TV love stories (Hallmark) and movies and expect the same but it is NOT the same....real life is connecting, commitment, treating each other with respect but instead we spend $40,000 for a party, several thousand today for a gown and veil, several thousand for flowers and then when babies start coming, we get bored and PLAY AROUND and instead of working to fix whatever has happened, DIVORCE and mess up the head of those innocent precious children. I didn't do that...I just never married again...and watch how things that went on when I was really young, hasn't changed at all except now they casually murder the unborn because "it's my body and I can do to it what I want"....sick!
All of these young ladies, are absolutely beautiful. And, a breath of fresh air. Meaning, they're not looking at being "beauty content creators "!!! They are looking for a husband. A future. They don't cross any physical line. Being pure is a rarity these days. Even the divorced individuals, they keep their distance till marriage....again. I'm so happy for Esty and Ariel. I truly hope they're still doing well. And, for this young couple to bring joy to their families and each other. God bless you
Татияна Декун Oh my, he does! I think he is lovely. I like him. I would like him for my daughter, but she is too young and not of his faith. I don’t think God cares what faith we follow so long as we strive to live how He commands, and my daughter does this. She’s still too young for him, lol.
@@JaimeMesChiens I also found him absolutely lovely - the sincerity and tenderness and this light that showed through his eyes. Wish I was 22 again! :-))) but to choose a spouse after only 3 dates! Complicated....
Also, just a weird observation: The American-English word "Ok." I heard it when I was in Germany, Andorra, France, the Netherlands, Wales (among people speaking Welsh), Sweden and Morocco, and now, in this documentary about very isolated Orthodox Jews in Israel, I hear them saying "Ok" in their sentences. It's the universal word.
This was an awesome documentary and I wish I could see part 4, 5, 6 and so on with more people but I guess there are no 'Kardashians" of the Gur and the rest for a reality show :)))

What is not clear to many people is how poor these people are, living with only one income. Having 7,8,9 kids. These are true believers, no one forces them, including the women, to choose this lifestyle. Their depth of thoughts and discussions, the openness , I could’ve not done it , especially in front of the camera. And all that at the age when Our kids mentally are still in the kindergarten ....
Believe it or not, the divorce rate in orthodox Jewish marriages is surprisingly low. I don’t know how, but through faith and culture these men and women are often able to find a deep connection and love for each other
The divorce rate in the orthodox world is low because divorce is still a stigma. Also only a man can have the final say about a divorce; if a man doesn't agree to give the woman a divorce, then they cannot divorce. There have been many cases where men refuse the woman a Get (Jewish divorce).

@@chaimflink3454 True, however in most of these cases the women are not expected to also have kids/take care of 100% of the household at that time. The women are all stunningly beautiful. Every single one. Feige is gorgeous! If she was in USA, men would stand in line for a minute of her time. And Esti is a picture of her mom, and they’re both gorgeous. Of course, I am of Northern African heritage, so perhaps that’s why the Sephardi look so nice to me. The guys are pretty hot, too. I like Ariel’s dad. He’s funny and adorbs. 😍
Man they really need to make these dates last longer. What can you learn about a person in five mins? If they are worried of something inappropriate happening then they can have an elder accompany them from a distance. I think it would help a lot in these type of situations.
Very fascinated by this culture. Almost makes me wish I was born into a community like this. I am Catholic, but my Maternal Grandmother was Jewish. Everyone seems to look out for each other, especially the women.
In case you didn't know yet, I wanted to tell you that Judaism goes by the mother. If your grandmother from your mother's side is Jewish, that means your mom is Jewish which technically makes you Jewish too. If you'd like to reconnect with your heritage, get in contact with a local rabbi, possibly Orthodox. May G-d bless you
You know what .. This show made me feel special about the marriage God has given me. I was here after a fight with my husband and was thinking so worthless of my marriage. God reminded me of the days when I was worse than these girls, crying my heart out to God for the right person. A small fight and everything felt worthless until I saw this. Thanks to God Almighty
they are prime catches because what is valued in that community is the torah and talmud and intelligence. These boys study the law and you have to be very bright to do that.
@@barbarathomas9534 And with that way of thinking you will always go through life being the doormat for losers. Yes, they are intelligent to know when they have a good scam going. @@johnwinterbottom1072 What are you talking about? John - they have a culture. It is not your culture and it is not my cultural either. But it is their culture. They devote their lives to living as per God's laws to the Jewish people, they comply with the 613 laws of the torah, they have alot of children, and they make a living. Like everyone else some are rich, most are not, but their lives are not money and achievement centered. Their lives are to live and pass on their observance of God's laws to the next generation. To be a torah scholar for them is to be a brilliant attorney - it is about law. And they don't earn money studying the law and being lawyers of judges (rabbis) but they have honor in their community and their wives earn money. When they go to schul to study the law, it is rigorous and intense. It is work John. They just don't get paid for it because they work for free honoring God. Their wives are only too happy to work to help the family to afford their husbands that place to study God's law. Now this isn't your culture or mine but it is theirs and you shouldn't be so disrespectful. And by the way alot of problems we have in America are attributable to the low birthrate. We wouldn't have to import chinese and spanish people if we had enough kids. It seems that white protestant men in America and Europe do not want Children or if they have, they'll have one and this is cultural suicide and that's why they're bringing in arabs and muslims who are the pits. So maybe John we can learn from the orthodox instead of snear at them.

"Is she pretty?" I hear this question often when prospective brides are concerned. What is pretty? What is not? It's usually the first question asked by the man and his supporters. I would feel angry to be chosen for my looks after a couple of dates. How demeaning to a woman! To marry based on looks is asking for trouble in some cases. It's shallow. btw, what happens to the women deemed "ugly" by Jewish society?
To be fair, men are visual so it's important that a man be attracted to his bride. I imagine to many men attractiveness varies and what he really wants is someone who he can have physical chemistry with. I imagine that many men don't need a drop dead gorgeous woman but they want someone that they can find attractive physically at least somewhat. I met my husband online and he had two photos on his profile. One was clean shaven and the other he had a goatee. I do NOT like the clean shaven look on ANY man. I find that a bit of facial hair improves the look of 99% of male faces. Upon seeing his face with facial hair I said to myself, "I can work with that!" He emailed me first and wrote very respectfully like a potential friend. Another man from the same town emailed me first and was also very courteous and respectful but his profile picture was an absolute turn off and I knew there was zero physical attraction to his face. My husband is not some gorgeous celebrity but I had a spark of attraction to him physically that only blossomed further once I knew his beautiful soul. What one person finds attractive can be repugnant to another person so what those men are asking essentially is if there is a potential for physical attraction. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so only photos or in person can truly answer the attractiveness question.
Because they get paid lol. Every successful matchmaking means they will 1,000 dollars from the bride's family and another thousand from the groom's family.
@@kristinesharp6286 True, but I'd say in most of these cases the matchmakers will still split the money according to whatever arrangement they came to. Either way, there is money in this.
One thing that every boy should learn from his father...don't cling to a woman like a love sick puppy. You won't only lose the object of your desire, you'll lose your dignity too. When a woman wants you, she'll make it very obvious.
The kids at 30:10 are under so much pressure from her mother, it's hard to watch. They are very cute, may they be happy. She is very beautiful, and he is plainer-looking, but he is also friendly, sweet, has a job, and has less over-bearing parents. I like them.
It’s more that they act older. They are (most of them) so self confident (God is by their side!) that they look and sound in their late twenties. Also, they study and reflect a lot, so they are intellectually very mature (although not relationship wise)

He made a good choice for himself. He'll know when he's ready.
I really don’t get why the husband dedicates his life to study while the wife brings in the income. If you want to study, then study but also work. That’s way too comfortable for the guys. Not only that, if the wife works outside, she has to take care of the household, kids and husband? No way. The thing about receiving welfare is a shame, specially when these are strong , healthy, young husbands.
,
I agree. Disgraceful.
He is no man. I have seen handicapped people working.
I absolutely loved this series of documentaries, I was totally immersed, so sad it was only three programmes.
Question, what was the church called?
Choice?? Seems to me their “choices” are extremely limited and they are coerced practically every step of the way by whatever means necessary.

Strange, ancient beliefs.
Ultimately, is because she's not a virgin, right?
Their general view of a divorced woman as the bad side of these so called religious cultures.
Yes... for such a private group, this was huge for them to be opening this up to the scrutiny (sometimes miserable scrutiny) of others! ladilu777 ...

I’m hooked on to these episodes. I wish there was more
Making me crazy to know what happened to the guy at the end.

One of the main reasons marriage is so hard now, and everyone gets divorced is usually because one person still wants to live like they have no responsibility. They could take a lesson from this video.
But some of the men want to "study" and not work! How does that work out?

Amazing series! But I haven't had enough
What I’m getting from these young people is a deep fear of being married and not being in love.
I think, love is something which grows over time with your partner. Just living with someone and knowing abt him/her makes you fall in love with that person.

Can we get an update on my boy Yehezkel?!
All of these young ladies, are absolutely beautiful. And, a breath of fresh air. Meaning, they're not looking at being "beauty content creators "!!! They are looking for a husband. A future. Believe it or not, the divorce rate in orthodox Jewish marriages is surprisingly low. I don’t know how, but through faith and culture these men and women are often able to find a deep connection and love for each other
The mindset is that god intended them to be life long partners .And they don't see ppl around them divorcing ,specially with many kids.
Half Tripolitan, half Moroccan how is this possible I thought he was Jewish please explain
The divorce rate in the orthodox world is low because divorce is still a stigma. Also only a man can have the final say about a divorce; if a man doesn't agree to give the woman a divorce, then they cannot divorce. There have been many cases where men refuse the woman a Get (Jewish divorce).

The women only take on work while he studies, if this is what the couple agreed to. What you never heard of spouses in America working to put their spouse through graduate, law or medical school, etc?
@@chaimflink3454 Yeah, no touching or sex while she is on her period IS shaming her for a very normal, and necessary might I add, bodily function. s if there is something wrong or unclean about her.
@@chaimflink3454 True, however in most of these cases the women are not expected to also have kids/take care of 100% of the household at that time. It also has a finite end in sight of just a few years until the spouse is also ready to work and help out with income.
So, no one is saying women being the breadwinners is wrong. But having the expectation to be the sole breadwinner while also being pregnant (which automatically will take you out of the work force) and taking care of the household? No man in the west who has a housewife is expected to do all of that.

Well didn't you hear Yehezkel say he didn't want a "monster" ? Lol
Ugly people say that😂
To be fair, men are visual so it's important that a man be attracted to his bride.
