Hey Flametail quite a good start, i started when the game came out and got Siege as my first 6 star, and still use her. People dunk on pioneers a lot but theyre pretty solid in general.

My suggestion for who to promote in general is: Vanguard: Flametail (polish woman) / Vigna (DPS) / _Myrtle_ because yes Single Target (ST) Caster: Click / Amiya / Steward if you have no one else / or (Haze / Indigo; they have some nice dps skills) AoE Caster: Gitano / Pudding ST Sniper: May (DPS and Slow) / Meteor (Debuff) / Kroos + Jessica (early game) AoE Sniper isn't very necessary, but: Shirayuki or Catapult Defender: Cuora is a busted 4* defender, and for anyone else, just pick up whoever has biggest HP and DEF Normal Guard: Melantha is goated bc big numbers go brr / Cutter skills shred / Mousse (arts fighter is funky nice and she has ATK debuff on enemies) (Optionally) Ranged Guard: Arene (some arts dps), or Midnight if you don't have Arene Healer: Sussurro for ST heal & Perfumer for AoE (They can be replaced by better medic later on; like episode 4-6 latest) Supporter: Whoever necessary; usually a staller like Orchid Specialist: Gladiia (welfare unit yes), and Gravel (a really good bait unit (you could even say a masterb- wait no)) If you had a stroke (trying to) read that, then I'm sorry.
would love to see a video after some progression. because early phase into around lv 60 - 80 is whole new experience with a lot mechanic start to introduce + new gamemode to messing around

So, Minor gripe here. I started a new account in august, and got thru chapter 3 on the first day, unlocking IS. the rewards for IS2, and IS3 are, massive, so massive that getting a 6 star like thorns to E2 is not a wall. I initially started, E2'd pudding and perfumer, then cleared Annihilation lungman downtown. on the ....fifth day of the account. I then went and started promoting my 6 stars with the IS2 and 3 rewards. and I very easily got 4 e2 30 six stars. this does greatly require one to 'know what they are doing' but if someone actually plays the game, taking a unit to elite 2, is not a significant barrier, given the IS2 and IS3 rewards can promote you a team of 8 six stars.
IS is a big time investment though to get those rewards especially for a new player. 1 run in is2 to the standard ending usually takes me between 1-2 hours depending on how hard I'm concentrating and that gives about 900 battlepass xp at max upgrade which is just under 2 levels. A lot of people will simply not play a mobile game that much that consistently and IS is hard as a new account without much in the way of options or personal player experience
mountain is damage, survivability and heal in itself i pulled this unit after 1 year of playing i have around 30 6 stars, yet he's still suprassed all my expectations unfair unit. hes useful 99.9% stages
The game has much to offer in terms of lore, character designs and gameplay mechanics. The gacha system is okay’ish as well. Thanks to the devs being based af you can do most of the game with 3* units that you can max out almost for free. Everything beyond that is technically luxury.

Myrtle is not needed to lv up early since most unit you use at the start have very low dp cost also she cant block while using skill. I would akso reccomend her after you got 6star unit that cost 30+.dp

Usually when this happens it is due to legacy code. The person that wrote the tutorial code is gone and nobody wants to fix it cause it can end up breaking the entire tutorial. Aka legacy code with no comments
I wish HG spent a bit of their development budget into making the earlier parts of the game a bit more interesting, intense and fun instead of the cut and dry tone that we have now.
Mountain is the best operator in this banner closely followed by Thorns. Mountain shines with minimal investments, perfect for new players, Thorns needs to be promoted to Elite 2 and some masteries to shine. Flametail is good but can be replaced by lower rarities.
i think you babysitting him too much, just sit there and watch him do stuff or read guide, tutorial by himself, then eidit your voice in the background talk about new player experience (search this video on youtube for example: What Games Are Like For Someone Who Doesn't Play Games). This type of video can give you some niche in the Ak cc cause no one really focus on this (as far as i know).

i began one day ago and i have Pozëmka, Thorns, Suzuran and surtr as my 6* as 5* my mains are Liskarm and Ptilopsis :)

Texas is free pioneer aoe nuke similar to flametail s2. Free after story board missions
I still really like flametail becauze she is slot efficient. She survives much longer, not requiring a healer until later.
