Just bought E373 and I'll have to say it's exactly what I want in a budget keyboard... Good sound and just love the varieties of string sounds it has..
And the concert piano GP sound is just another level.

Hi Jeremy. I'm glad the Yamaha PSR - E373 has a nice blue coloured LCD display rather than the yellow display found on the Yamaha PSR - E363. The live grand piano voice found on this keyboard is also a really good upgrade.
I really like the sound of the Super Articulation Lite Voices found on this keyboard too. I makes acoustic instruments sound better!

I wanted to upgrade my pretty ancient Yamaha PSR-275 keyboard..so, after a lot of research of makes within my price range, I finally went for another Yamaha...the Yamaha PSR-E373.
Your pleasant and easy to watch reviews were a great help in me making my final decision.
The PSR-E373 is absolutely fabulous. The easy to follow manual along your videos is making my learning curve not as steep as it might have been. Thanks.

Years ago I had an electronic keyboard when I taught elementary school music. I would like to buy another but don't wish to deal with complicated digital perks which require using a manual to decipher them, or bells & whistles add-ons which I will never use. Voices, rhythms, one touch chords, etc. would be great. I did watch your video on the Yamaha PSR-E 373. I am very impressed with your videos, BTW, and congratulate you on all your work. I did buy a 'beginner' advertised keyboard two years ago and found it so complicated that I sold it, totally discouraged! I used to sit down and play for hours. Is this keyboard a good one for me -the Yamaha PSR-E 373? Thanks for all you do for those wishing to learn to play and for your reviews. Nancy.

Yamaha good quality piano sound same sound as always but about them speaker the quality you get is 2.5 watt amp is as loud it can get for house room living room or perform in small stage but still has a good speaker that won't sound distorted even at max volume depending on the voice or song you selected, great for practicing.
Both speaker are true stereos sound meaning there evenly played at the same time.

I have watched several of your excellent reviews. I must say I had a headache as I narrowed down my choices. I started out looking at casio cs300 then ctx800 & when I came across the Yamaha psr373, I was sold. For me as a beginner, it's the perfect mix of decent sound, easy to use & an added fun factor being able to save music/connect to app. I will be looking at your teaching plan & learning app suggestions. Absolutely accurate, little do the average users know that you can in fact randomize all the global parameters via midi on the PSR series and especially the e-series...thus transforming them into something between a poly800 and virtual analog-ish / polysynth, I have proven this and have demonstrated successfully to the synth world with my e423 / e463 and DJX aka PSR-D1 ...my experiments are on the Gearfacts channel if you are interested, best wishes from KoSMiX synthologist, VST guru and ambient composer 😎

Other hands is that 463 has 6.0 watt speaker higher output for louder tones and bigger sounds while e373 still carry 2.5watt still loud enough to hear from your smalll room to your living room.
If e373 great for performing at home large room living room but not big stages or like size of walmart.
You can hook extended speaker with it for more power.
They are both clearer even max volume there are no distorted static noise you hear.
Casio speaker do tend to do that but not always

Thanks for the video Jeremy! Sorry to bother you but I’d appreciate if you could answer this question. As someone looking to start to learn the piano with no prior experience, would the e373 be alright for me if I wanted to play Billy Joel songs or Beatles songs? Or would I need more keys?

    • @johnsono2303

There's the ew310, that was released with the e373, and have 76 keys. The prices may be similar since both are beginners keyboards.

61 keys is the standard for playing keyboards.
More keys can be used in specific cases.
The keys that are "missing" from the standard 88 keys of a piano are at frequencies (very high and very low frequencies) that are used mostly for "passing" notes and musical phrases and not to play any kind of melody in them.
Original piano arrangements in classical music use these keys for arpeggios, "heavy" bass notes etc so 88 keys are needed (Not in all cases of course).
For playing songs (compositions with lyrics) of any kind of music, 61 keys are sufficient.

    Well i just ordered it.
I have been watching you a long time.
I almost bought the Yamaha P 45, but the price was a little high for me.
I dont know how to play yet.
I am just looking for something to learn on for now.
Might get the P 45 later if this one dont sound as good.
I watched many of your videos on how they all sound.
The P 45 is the one i liked the best.
I will learn how to play on this $214 PSR E373.
I have been practicing on a flute for fun, I already know how to play a couple of songs just by ear, no teaching.
I have been playing the songs from brave heart, and lord of the rings.
I bought 4 flutes from the internet to see what ones i liked the best.
So far i like 2 of the native American flutes.
My mother can play the Piano, and its one of the instruments i like best.
So i am going to learn.
I tried playing the guitar, but it hurt my fingers.
Thanks for making all your videos, they have been great.

You might take one factor into consideration. The P45 is a piano, with keys that are as 'hard' to press as a real piano, so you need some force. Of course you'll get used to this (and will enable you to play a real piano), but in my opinion this so-called hammer action is not very well suited for playing other 'instruments' like flute, trumpet, organ and synth, that require a far softer and smoother touch etc. In short, the feel is completely different (like a piano (hitting the keys) feels different from an organ (pressing the keys)). Partly subjective, but good to know before you buy.

@@JeremySee exactly correct, as my hubby concurred re the chips. too bad they cant use potato chips instead! the electronic chip factory in shi na burned to the ground, then the lockdowns there stopped/curtailed/screwed up the production. plus all longshoreman on western coast must b 2x vxd (most pple now realize the vx is NOT a vx at all) and the trucks used to transport the containers off the docks must b newer than 2011; not every trucker can afford that. this is all being done to screw up/collapse the economy.
