Glad you enjoyed Berserk enough to continue! Try to make it to the next arc (end of Volume 3) because most people agree that this is the point where the story really gets compelling. Just be warned that the story in general depicts/tackles a lot of dark topics like torture, SA, and related traumas. I'm not trying to dissuade you by any means but understand what you are getting into. There is so much more to the series than darkness and depravity so I hope you are able to continue. 😊 My manga rec is Our Dreams at Dusk. I'd rather not say too much about this one because it's best to experience it first hand. It tackles the theme of trying to understand one's self. Being true to your own identity and accepting the way others want to live their lives. It's a really wholesome story and one of the most touching manga I've ever read.
So happy to know you liked Cardcaptor Sakura!!! It's one of my favorite manga/series ever and I really hope you can enjoy the rest of it! Clear Card Arc is basically the second part of the manga and it's more recent (last volume is being published in April), I heavily recommend it as well as both are pretty good. I'd also love to recommend Akatsuki no Yona ^_^ This was a great video!!! Keep it up!!!
Loved the video! It's awesome that your recs aren't just the household names that a lot of other channels get recommended. Btw, my recommendation would be to read Blue Period. It's a slice of life manga about a high school student discovering their passion for art and going all in on it in hopes of making a career out of it someday. One of my favorites.
I will say vinland saga is not about battles, war, and strategy for the wider story but it takes a while to get there (something like 10 volumes) so if you're not ready for that you can drop it or watch the anime I'll only give 2 recommendations based on things I think you might like Land of the lustrous: You said something about how you liked the use of negative space in manga and this is the king of that. still ongoing at 12 volumes but it's got like only 1 more volume left to go. Girls last tour: This is pretty much my favourite manga ever, a chill story about 2 girls exploring a dead world. 5 volumes quick and easy.
Adore "Non Non Biyori"..the anime...(not read the manga) Wonderful characters and wonderful music...So much so..I recently visited the real life school and candy store on which those in the anime are based.(possibly the manga also?.I have some so I should check..haha)..I did buy some manga while in Japan..All in Japanese and I cannot read Japanese..but it didn't stop me buying it!....So cheap when buying from stores like "BOOK OFF"....I hope one day to be able to read read them..but I don't see it happening..to old to start learning..and to costly...But I'll enjoy the pictures...and as I know the anime I'm sure I can work out what's being said..hehe.
I think it would be fun to supplement learning Japanese with manga in Japanese, but I find writing and reading Japanese the hardest part about trying to learn!
