    In this episode we try our hand at at a diy magnetic driver bit organizer. We got everything we needed for this project at our local hardware store and it cost under $10 with the exception of already having the wood glue and spray lacquer. We even had extra material left over for use in future projects. Over all this was a simple and straight forward project that anyone could do and it adds a nice level of organization with a classy look to any tool box or chest. Thanks for checking us out, if you enjoyed the project make sure to like and share, and perhaps subscribe!
    As always we hope you decide to stick around and earn your man card with us..... OR GET IT REVOKED!? Remeber to check out our facebook page at TheManCardChannel and our Instagram @TheManCardChannel

    17/64" is too small. Measuring across the points of a 1/4" hexagon and it will be 37/128". (they do make a bit that size). In fact, if you drill the holes 37/128" they won't even need magnets. Or, WITH magnets you could probably go 19/64", which is a more common size.

    What diameter are the magnets?

  • @PLBIV
    @PLBIV 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    "dont wanna get glue on the top of the magnets" even though the side of the magnets being used to hold the bits in is the side you literally just put down in a pool of glue.... oopsies! haha

    Why magnets if you literally have to shove the bits into the holes?

    • @TheManCardChannel
      @TheManCardChannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. In the design process we weren't sure if the bits would stay on their own. Not all the holes were a snug fit for some bits. So we added the magnets to help keep the loose fit bits in place. It was originally intended to be able to be mounted to the side of a tool box, but the magnets we used were severely underpowered for that.

      My first thought was ...those holes are too tight.

      When you fumble it and spill all the bits over the floor, you'll know why you want magnets. Not that I've ever done anything like that.

    why not use magnetic tape?

    • @TheManCardChannel
      @TheManCardChannel  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Terry Dubay it was definitely on the list of ideas, but we couldn't find magnetic tape strong enough to grip through the wood. If we weren't look to hide the magnets then magnetic tape would have been an excellent and easier choice.

    Can you use it to store your nose ring?

    • @TheManCardChannel
      @TheManCardChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We made this specifically to organize bits. But I'm sure you can modify the design to fit whatever you'd like in it. As far as my nose ring. My nose works just fine as a storage device. -Nik
