We Ruined The Monster Truck Kart! | Paint Gone WRONG

- I've wanted to paint a go kart with proper automotive paint for years. Today, we decide to finally do it, and spray a single stage semigloss green onto the lifted monster truck go kart body. We started by prepping the fiberglass go kart body with 320 grit sandpaper and a palm sander, filling in holes with body filler, and repairing cracks in the body with fiberglass. We then shot it with paint- realizing that our "forest green" was actually John Deere Green! Not what we were going for!

Drain the Air compressor that where all the water is at
Your first coat DOESNT need to cover, and all of your painting is way to slow! thats why it looks thick & heavy! Tip: multiple coats of fast even coats! even when you spray clear coat you need to move faster than you were... No Hate just tips to help you get better! Remember its just a go cart! HAHA

John, I'll give you props. I've never used a pneumatic paint gun, I've always rattle canned stuff. I painted the hood and roof of my '88 ranger(sold long ago) in my front yard on a windy day with very little prep. I used 2 garbage bags to keep paint off the fenders and ended up having the wind kick up and flip one of the bags onto the hood. Along with that, I had bugs getting stuck in it, leaves falling on it... You did much better than me!

Drain your compressor tank on a regular basis to get rid of unwanted moisture. Put a water trap between the compressor and air hose. When using a paint gun add a second small water trap between the air hose and the paint gun. The second type are usually disposable.
Poor ike, he didn't get to paint a side ): haha but you guys should try repainting it maybe? than again Ike was right about being in the woods and getting it all scratched up, so it really doesn't matter at the end of the day lol I just can't wait to see the monster truck in action!
