You can buy a new 3rd party wii guitars still and with a raphnet adapter is the lowest latency experience. They are decent quality from what I understand. I personally love my xplorers but they are getting expensive and more and more beat up
@@thisislargemouth5566 I have had a explore brand new since 2007 and I just got back into gh via clone hero. I love my xplorer over all the other guitars that came out for gh3 ghwt ect. It just has such a solid feel

Probably because it's free, highly customizable with modifiers such as song speed among many others. It also has an almost infinite choice of songs. CH is just the best.
Great Vid! The only thing that kinda threw me off is the fact that you said no difficulty attribute when there are many songs that have that, for example it shows the guitar and says 6 at the bottom right, indicating how difficult it is, then again you are right since it is a really vague scale.
I am so glad to have been part of, if a small part, the development of Clone Hero. I do believe that the ability to have the bass.ogg stem compatibility was all on me (didn't hear anyone else talking about it). Of course, 32-bit versions of Clone Hero came about because of my lackluster hardware. I enjoyed being able to contribute to this, and I hope PNH (I like the name Rhythm and Pulse for the new-er project) soars for all players, novice and elite alike.
Another few factors just include literally having a place to play every Rock Band and Guitar Hero game songs all in one place that can easily be played with just some danky ass keyboard if you don't got a Guitar controller.
It won't. Clone Hero itself doesn't have the music, and the source code for it was built from the ground up without using existing code from the GH games, meaning it's an entirely separate entity.
The song you have playing in the background, Belvedere by Intervals. It tripped me the fuck out cuz i was playing it on guitar literally 10 minutes before this video and i faintly heard it and it made me think i was hearing things
The most important reason is clearly that you can use any backing track to make your own song without having the song owners permission, which activision or rockband could not.
this intro threw me off cause its a song called Belvedere by Intervals and its in my instrumental music playlist and i thought somehow it started playing
Thanks to my cousin, who got Guitar Hero III last year, I got GH3 from a friend and 3 guitars from the same person for free. I also got Guitar Hero Metallica and Green Day Rock Band. And I need to thank Acai, Randy, and UKOG for getting me into Clone Hero!
I got in and got out at the worst time, I swear lol. 2013 - 2015 were my years and it took off right after. I was there for tobi mafham and all the other great names I haven't thought of in 4 years, lots of friendships were made then. I wouldn't take it back :) Great video :)

I just wanted to know why they cut off the production of clone hero and start on project note hitter. It still has lots of potential to become a solid video game
because they're not just making a "clone" anymore, they are releasing a full fledged game like guitar hero to hopefully really commercialize; not just appeal to nostalgia.
Clone Hero was worked on very intermittently before it's public release, therefore there is still weird old 2011 code in it. PNH will be easier to develop and will also be a full game.
what the fuck this comment reminded me that i used to have a portable wii holder that had a car charger and everything, i would literally play guitar hero in the car when we drove places.
stepmania lr2 clone hero kshoot beautiful open source renditions of classic rhythm games but what about mai mai jubeat chunithm djhero project diva rock band (drums/keyboard)
I might just sound like an old curmudgeon, but I don't really see much appeal in the game beyond being a meme generator. That, and/or I'm unreasonably hesitant to try and do something like this in regards to bringing a console game to the PC in some fashion, whether it's hooking up a controller or just playing it on PC in general. That's probably just a me issue, though. I'm not against CH's popularity--really, anything that keeps Guitar Hero alive and popular is a big plus in my book--but I largely don't see myself as ever getting into it as much as I did the original two series. I'll probably just live and die by them and not CH. (Yes, I'm commenting on a two-year-old vid and being self-conscious about it.)
Thumbnail won't update, sorry everyone! I'll try to fix it in a bit.
Great video dude! Clone hero was always an interesting rythm game to me, hard to play with keyboard tho lol
great vid :^)
Ayy thanks, man! Much appreciated.
is this really the legend acai
EVOLVE XCLR8 yes it is
Brown man whatttt
Hey Brown Man. I love your content. Keep being awesome.
If only we could still just buy a brand new controller instead of having to search everywhere for a second hand possibly broken guitar.
some guitars for the game can actually be bought new on amazon, at least here in germany
Seven Chords WHAT?!
I fucking hope that they ship to more than just Germany.

Clone hero is an amazing game, with many skilled players. This game is pretty fun to watch as well.
Great video!
It's amazing to see how far the game and the community has come in the last couple years
Probably because it's free, highly customizable with modifiers such as song speed among many others. It also has an almost infinite choice of songs. CH is just the best.
Yeah this "infinite choice of songs" is something you'll never see on a real guitar hero game lol
Immediately recognized Intervals. Nice song choice.
Same, Aaron Marshall is one hell of a guitar player
Great informative video as always. Thx for making this, was really interesting

Woah your profile pic is giving me nightmares
The real reason Clone Hero succeeded: It gives us a chance to hold our hands different compared to normal games
I wish activision starts producing guitar controllers again, those things are getting rare.

That's the thing about anything directly related to music. It may wax or wane, but you can never kill it. It will always find a way to survive.
I remember watching your vid of playing mc mental 1.2 with a guitar controller.
It was a 1.1 haha. 1.2 would be nutty LOL
The most important reason is clearly that you can use any backing track to make your own song without having the song owners permission, which activision or rockband could not.
You can with rockband 3 jtag console. Plus drum, vocal and keyboard as well
Just the fact that you have no loading screen is great

Clone Hero is the Step Mania to Dance Dance Revolution
Nope, Clone Hero isn't multigame like Stepmania. More like a Delight Delight Reduplication version of Guitar Hero.

Acai singlehandedly brought it back to the mainstream
Just a question for thought,
Why aren't other rhythm games getting as much traction as clone hero? Like Osu or Stepmania in particular?
at least with osu, it's very hard to watch and understand what the hell is going on, and it also has a decently steep learning curve.
because they suck
