@@patriciamchunu4936 mate don’t be daft, we had our full squad healthy last season. Allow me to educate you on how preseasons work, that “2.5 weeks” is mainly fitness work, there’s only some much you can do tactically when you have such a big squad and you’re without so many starters. It’s the first game in a new system idc if Maldini was on the pitch, it was never going to be perfect. And let’s be honest, Trevoh* is no maldini, he’s an average CB who gets hype from the fans because he’s from Cobham. The real problem in the second half we had a kid anchoring the back 3, at his age and his experience mistakes in shape are bound to happen it’s not because the great Trevoh Chalobah wasn’t on the girls lol. So yes, still laughable.
@@patriciamchunu4936 couldn't agree more...it's wrexham for heavens sake! Zero training and a B squad would win this game easily, and the fact we struggled is very concerning. Overall, POCH'S style was aggressive, winning football. While in possession we do nothing, but when we turn it over we're going to get ripped. First bit of if evidence will come on Saturday against Celtic
I thought fofana was coming back to himself, he defended really well. The two mistakes were due to formation putting Ben chilwell out of place in which they took advantage.
Worn on the pitch and with a sponsor on it our kit does look quite good tbh I like the way our badge shimmers But I can't see the "blue fire" they tried to sell us the kit with. Looks more like water in a pool and gives me summervibes
Don’t know why some people are freaking out over the result it’s the first game of pre season United, Liverpool, City all lost there first games, people need to relax, minutes in the tank and building up the chemistry is the main focus the results will come especially with more players to join up with the squad
You would have thought that this was an FA Cup match judging by the reaction of a good portion of fans. I even saw a couple saying that Maresca should be sacked based on this performance.
We still struggle to break down any team that parks the bus. That first half was tough to watch ( a ton of sideways and backwards passing ) so I only watched 10 -15 minutes of the second half. I can only hope when our international players join the team it will change.
Guiu should stay. His size and relentless pressure will cause issues for defenders. Haven't figured out if he can finish yet, but he reminds me of Diego Costa (I think you'd see more of the dark arts from him in a non friendly). The biggest learning for me is no player that we think will be loaned or sold stood out. Hate to say it, but Chilly cannot play in this system and should be sold.
That inverted fb crap isn’t gonna work. Reece and Gusto looked funky and honestly we take away their best qualities that are best utilized on the wings. Also why even play them in the pivot when we legit have so many midfielders that can do what they were doing because not once did they drop into the RB position
The comments are actually a joke. You lot coming to conclusions after 1 friendly need to give your head a wobble. You can’t judge a system when you have 5+ first team players not in the squad 😂
This game was a good base. In the first half, we have control. we just needed someone to be able to dribble past his man to beat the low/mid block. I feel like Palmer and Jackson would have brought us that.
Speaking of "the last thing you want," yeah, you don't want the "well-drilled blood and thunder," but you also very much don't want that coupled with whatever the center ref thought he was doing.
Houston we have a problem. Maresca has this really complicated style of playing football in his head and he's not going to change it for anyone. Forget about playing players where they're good at playing, he wants them to be able to play in two or more out of position positions. We should of known when we saw him in that suit with that waistcoat that he's not bothered if it dos'int work and looks wrong he's doing it anyway.
What I was mostly scratching my head about is the way James and Gusto really were just acting like CDMs. Why not just have a CDM do that? Why convert a right back? And then, I guess push one of your CDMs into a more attacking player? Why not use your attacking player? Maybe they're just not implementing it well, yet. That's probably it. But in the second half, especially, I was thinking, well, why?
RIP James & Gusto. Maresca will kill James and Gusto this way. Yes both can play iin the middle well -- but you have 2 of the best attacking fullbacks in the world and both can cross the most beautiful accurate balls, both fast as hell down the flank -- and you want them to play like Jon Obi Mikel???!!
Best performers: Guiu, Colwill, Tosin, Lavia, Gusto, Santos, Angelo Impartial: Reece, Noni, George, Sterling, Fofana, Nkuku Worst performers: Bada, whoever the RCB was in the 2nd half, Ugo (yes even though he scored), and Broja
I'd keep Guiu in the squad because to be totally honest, I'd hope he rubs off on Jackson 😂 Imagine if you merged the pair of them into one player. Jacksuiu would be a killer
Can we stop having a go at players that react angrily to being hacked. It's game 1 of pre season and 2mins in being hacked would completely fuck me off aswell.
Yan, your missing the point that Levi just came back from injury, hes playing on a dusty US pitch, and hes got this Wrexham lad doing harsh tackles from minute 2
I don't think we should be too bothered by the result. Performance is what matters in these pre season matches. The first half was certainly better and the football was played in a controlled manner. Obvious to see the potential as a team. Should have the inverted play coming from the left. Proven how effective that is. We are losing those excellent runs n crosses on the right side of the pitch, if James n Gusto play the inverted role. Liked the look of our 18 year old striker, but we do need a genuine striker with more experience, and that is NOT Jackson
Sanchez should be on the transfer list. If we play him, we will end up in the bottom part of the table. Not up to this level of football or has the skills required.
The shape and style is positive. People may find it “boring”, but if we are winning who cares. Also they players very rusty, and this style will only improve over the season
At point, I feel like everything that happens with Chelsea is a sign that we will have a good season, Last season we beat wrexham 5-0 and we didnt had a very good season. This time we drew with them maybe thats a sign we going to have a good season. 😂
Enzo needs to quickly install this system a lot slicker for the more high profile games, we looked poor with the ball, too slow and going sideways/backwards. Even more concerning we were over run in midfield and turned over far too easy. Early doors and this won't be who starts v Man City week 1, but we are miles off it.
Definitely early doors. New system and many of our top players aren't even integrated into the team yet. Big worry that teams will frustrate us with defensive play, sitting very deep.
Guiu needs to stay as our backup striker! Looked very lively & energetic causing a lot of problems! Broja needs to be shipped out far far away .. permanent sale
Would say don’t get too excited about Guiu, let’s not forget how Jackson looked in preseason. EPL match day a way different level. But he did look decent
@@Akinwalesegun scoring goals doesn’t mean you played well. He killed many attacks with bad decision making, didn’t provide any creativity in central areas, and not to mention missed loads of easy finishes. He played best at LW honestly, where he’s not having to play with his back towards goal and in tight spaces. He was one of the league leaders in big chances missed for a reason. Every great striker will have a lot of missed chances, but it’s the amount you score compared to the amount of big chances you miss that count. Examples Haaland 27 goals/ 34 MC = .8% Isak 21 goals / 21 MC = 1.0% Watkins 19 goals/ 22 MC = .86% Jackson 14 goals/ 24 MC = .58% Most these strikers are basically getting you a goal for every missed chance while Jackson is double that, he’s in Nunez territory
Think the performance was impressive considering the fact that some of our key players we absent and they've trained for just should I say two weeks... we'll only get better
Near Zero positives my dear Yan, i know you love the optimism, but a spade is a spade. How can you play the most thrilling, potentially best RB in the world as an inverted CDM and let Madueke try and get the ball in the box? Man Poch got roasted for playing Levi Colwill at LB and this guy is already doing it. Football is simple. As Spain showed us, play a proper system, play a LB at LB, a DM at DM, a ST as ST and watch the team play better and win. This clowns of managers thinking they are re-discovering football. It's sad and embarrassing.
Not the best, but marc guiu looked great with his hold up play was very positive, the thing is we are going to have to be patient. This again is another conpletly new system, my fear is the select group of fans that troll immediately when we dont destroy teams, the fear is the spirit being ruined. We need to get behind maresca and his selections.
It’s not that’s it’s preseason but the system the tactics and failure to dominate and a league 2 team ! how poor we looked is worrying for me hopefully I’m wrong but we could definitely do with a few more quality players especially in wide positions
Thats where Enzo F will come in, get the ball and look for line breaking passes while playing deep. He is my Fav Chelseq player right now let's hope he won't dissapoint
Bro... this is a bunch of kids who have never played in this system; experiencing it for the first time, after being away from football. The system is clearly capable and effective against teams of this calibre - seeing as it won the championship last season. We absolutely did dominate in the first half, mind you. 75% possession with 350 passes and a goal sounds like domination to me. This, not even considering the players utilised in the second half (most of whom will not be starting for chelsea any time soon. Many possibly not even in the squad come august) being very clearly less experienced than the team with a strong core; who have been playing the same system, as part of a very galvanised group for years at this point. Don't be so reactionary.
@@alexcooper3651 Sanchez rosin chillwell james sterling nkunku are not kids and the so called kids have a lot of PL game time now no ? 5-6 of them are kids the rest should be enough to batter a league 2 team they have been promoted but that’s a league 2 side are you for real bro ? 😆
@@scoobdog7655I feel like it’s a bit harsh, even if it did worry me slightly with player abilities and losing the ball. But it looked better as they grew into the game and Wrexham’s lower league experience of losing their shape. The system is new, it will take a few games for people to understand. Also the fact that we had the kids on and most likely of them are going out on loan doesn’t exactly work for cohesion currently. Alas, it’s preseason and we should take everything with a pinch of salt for the first 2 or so games. Celtic next, I imagine we’ll look smoother so we should all look forward to that ✌️
for future match match reviews can you maybe not use sofascore, because I think them having a scoring system in place and scores there, it influences how you react to player performances, of which when we watch reviews we want more of a genuine review from the eye test because these metrics a lot of the time don't actually reflect how good a player was to those watching. because a goal or assist will boost up a bad player performance, or a player who just plays sideways passes which are safe but dont progress the team at all will accumulate a higher score than those taking riskier but necessary passes due to a higher completion rate, so the eye test away from the numbers or score is also necessary and the reason most of us watch youtube reviews. another issue with these sites is even how they get the formation wrong for example Chukwuemeka being a full on midfielder irl instead of a wingback, and George a winger not wingback and Nkunku more and 8/10 role in midfield. Like we can always check the sofascore or any other rating system ourselves but we choose to watch match reviews to also see the opinions of those watching the game and see if the score is reflective of what people actually saw
The system just dulled the sharpness and prowess of our full backs We are inverting like the best RB products in the world It just felt weird to be honest
I think we Chelsea fans deserve to be excited about the prospect of not being completely shit next season- not ‘80s shit but dross by 21st century standards - and I share the hope that we may even be pretty damn good but I think we should also remain humble and cautious for many reasons; Midfield - personally I think Caicedo has proven himself to be a quality premiership player, as has Gallagher (which may explain why he’s likely to leave…as Blueco, are we a development and selling club?) but for me the jury is still out on Enzo F (and that was before the song), we don’t know about KDH in the Premier league, we really don’t know about, one season at a relegated club, Lavia who’s coming off of a bad injury (though he looked tasty against Wrexham) or Carney (very mixed in the first outing) or Big Les or (to be loaned out) Santos…so the midfield is a big question mark to me and we haven’t even talked about the inverted full backs playing midfield. We don’t know who the goalkeeper is yet, we hope…cos if it’s Sanchez…it’s fear inducing. In central defense we again have no idea how good or bad we are. Colwill is still an unproven 20-year-old who looks like a possible future star but has only been injured or out of position in his time at Chelsea. Tosin comes from Fulham, Wesley is coming off two huge injuries. Which leaves Disasi and Badiashile…Two names to inspire confidence…how much will we miss Silva and Chalobah? We have great full backs. Will they play as full backs? Gusto looked ok as an attacking Left sided midfielder for twenty minutes against Wrexham…I’d rather have him working with a winger on the right but I’m old school. James - if he stays injury free and on the pitch, which history tells us is unlikely- can thrive anywhere but Chilwell looks done so we’re reliant on untested 20 yr old Veiga or an out of position Colwill to cover Cucu… I have the most confidence about our forwards. I reckon Palmer and Nkunku are world class but we still don’t have a proven 25 goal a year striker. I like Jackson and Noni, a lot, and think Sterling can still be useful but pretty sure none of them can be our main man. Gui looks great - in a half against Wrexham- and maybe Maresca can unlock the magic hiding in Mudryk..A lot of ifs and maybes. I think we’ll do remarkably well to make top 4, despite my hopes and desires, and will be happy with a top 6 spot and tangible player development. So let’s support the team loudly and proudly and ride the inevitable bumps without panic and rancor.
My take.. hopefully I’m wrong. But I think we gonna miss poch. We only lost 1 game in our last 15 games under him. This guy wants to be pep too much, dresses the same, looks the same and even his mannerisms are the same. There’s a reason he got sacked by a serie B team.

• We still need a #9 cause although the 1st half seemed more controlled we still lacked the cutting edge we had vs Wrexham last year.
• The 2nd half set up cost us the game, with Trevor we would've won this game & arguably kept a clean sheet
• What a waste of £4.99
You observed that with trevoh we would’ve won? 😭😂 when he leaves you can go support whatever club he goes to if you love him that much. And claiming we’re worse off after the first friendly when we have Palmer, Caicedo, Gallagher, Cucurella, Enzo, etc. all out of the squad is laughable
@@nibofc• if i was a Trevor stan then i would do as you're saying, but I'm not.
• The defensive mistakes & instability in the back line wouldn't have happened if we had a stable player who knows the club like Trevor in the 2nd half.
• We didn't have most of the players you mentioned last year vs Wrexham either but we got over the line quite comfortably.
• With this Chelsea side, yes it has it's deficiencies (like last year's vs Wrexham did too) but with the players Enzo has & the fact that he's had 2 weeks and a half to work with them should be enough to beat Wrexham.
Not really a laughable take now is it...
This shit last night was Graham Potter style ball....I'm literally ill thinking about this year and this style of boring, pass sideways/pass backwards garbage. While in possession we do nothing, but when we turn it over we're going to get ripped. First bit of if evidence will come on Saturday against Celtic
Your boy, Wesley Fofana, looked terrible. Romeo looked fantastic!
Forfana was decent who'd you watch?
To be expected ig considering how long he's been out
But conceding 2 goals?
Nah Fofana was alright, especially considering how long he’s been out for
I thought fofana was coming back to himself, he defended really well.
The two mistakes were due to formation putting Ben chilwell out of place in which they took advantage.
I'm liking how much pressure we put on the opposition. Not bad for a first showing. Next game please #ktbffh
Worn on the pitch and with a sponsor on it our kit does look quite good tbh
I like the way our badge shimmers
But I can't see the "blue fire" they tried to sell us the kit with. Looks more like water in a pool and gives me summervibes
No bad look 👌 Levi won some brownie points with that
Don’t know why some people are freaking out over the result it’s the first game of pre season United, Liverpool, City all lost there first games, people need to relax, minutes in the tank and building up the chemistry is the main focus the results will come especially with more players to join up with the squad
Its thise asians and african online fans, most of them are just toxic trolls
Wesley Fofana is huge. I remember remarking how thin and frail he looked. Not anymore, he is SOLID. Good for him. I hope he keeps healthy.
That style instantly took me back to Sarri Ball. Were in for a long season...
You would have thought that this was an FA Cup match judging by the reaction of a good portion of fans. I even saw a couple saying that Maresca should be sacked based on this performance.
I'm telling you mate!! This overreacting is ridiculous!
Good to see the boys on the pitch. Rough for sure but there is something cooking!
Fell asleep during the game 😂😂
Me too, I just watched the first 20 mins😂😂
lol
Not surprising....slow and boring sums it up. Pass sideways and pass backwards, pass sideways and pass backwards....new Maresca ball.....
@@gary3944 ahh shit dude not good to hear
@@gary3944it’s preseason nothing serious
lavia looked great. needs to be more crisp with his passing, but other than that, he looked top notch
Lavia a breath of fresh air
Nkunku, James, and Gusto will be totally wasted with Enzo. Sack him now and the sporting directors. Bring back Poch
Despite the issues in the 2nd half (mostly with the defense) i thought santos and gusto both looked electric in the pivot
They are scared to get injured again .
I totally understand levi colwill
Angelo was quite good.
Angelo looked superior to Noni , I don’t know what Yan was watching
This game was a good base. In the first half, we have control. we just needed someone to be able to dribble past his man to beat the low/mid block. I feel like Palmer and Jackson would have brought us that.
Speaking of "the last thing you want," yeah, you don't want the "well-drilled blood and thunder," but you also very much don't want that coupled with whatever the center ref thought he was doing.
It's gonna be a bumpy season to say the least
At least we can be assured to catch up on our sleep while watching the boys play … yawn-fest.
@@patentg8r man trying to copy man city gonna end bad for chelsea
@@WOLFanddBEAR SERIOUSLY
@@jjgallaher And, where do Enzo and Caicedo fit into the team with inverted fb? You're dragging everyone out of their best positions.
@@jjgallaher it's early days, and I hope I'm proven wrong. But I really don't like what i'm seeing.
Colwill stood his ground. What if he got injured?? Don’t blame him for going at that guy
Chelsea won 5-0 nothing with a weaker side and looked way better. Not to late to bring back Poch
Best performers: Guiu, Colwill, Tosin, Lavia, Gusto, Santos, Angelo
Impartial: Reece, Noni, George, Sterling, Fofana, Nkuku
Worst performers: Bada, whoever the RCB was in the 2nd half, Ugo (yes even though he scored), and Broja
Disagree with Levi, he clearly takes no shit
I'd keep Guiu in the squad because to be totally honest, I'd hope he rubs off on Jackson 😂 Imagine if you merged the pair of them into one player. Jacksuiu would be a killer
Lavia is going but a Massive Player for us
This is just Maresca's first game players are just beginning to understand his tactics and philosophy we shouldn't be to harsh on him
Can we stop having a go at players that react angrily to being hacked. It's game 1 of pre season and 2mins in being hacked would completely fuck me off aswell.
It's more about getting up to fitness levels than getting the result save our performances and wins for when the season starts 😂
Going to see Chelsea on Saturday with my oldest son at Notre Dame against Celtic
What the name of the app you are using for heat maps and analysis
I get what you’re saying regarding colwill.. but if mclean had did that to John Terry 😂😂😂😂 the next 50/50 would have stung
Sanchez should be on the transfer list. If we play him, we will end up in the bottom part of the table. Not up to this level of football or has the skills required.
The shape and style is positive. People may find it “boring”, but if we are winning who cares. Also they players very rusty, and this style will only improve over the season
Enzo Fernandez was punching the wall after seeing the goal scorers
Hey Yan Tosin’s name is pronounced adara-BEE-OR-YOR. it is a mouthful 😅😂
The positives of maresca 1st game is he made us into a championship team! 😂 Well done to the ownership! 😂
Also, the kit looks better with a sponsor on it, but I'm interested that IA is still on there. Maybe they just didn't want to play with a blank shirt?
Interesting to see once this system is ironed out. Too long have I seen Chelsea struggle against well organised low blocks
Your Fofana was atrocious bro 😅
Love the first word of the title of the video made me click it straight away
None we draw with a team that we beat 5 nil last year we are going backwards not forwards
Lavia was a beast
Guiu needs to stay as our backup striker! Looked very lively & energetic causing a lot of problems! Broja needs to be shipped out far far away .. permanent sale
broja assisted the equalizer .Put some respect on his name
The new home top which I hated is really growing on me. Thats the only positive I took from the game
Thought tosin looked great and perhaps will give us more of an aerial presence
Guiu looked energetic
Fine? Have you watched whole game or just the highlights?
Last nights game was VERY bad, Wrexham were the better team by a mile for 80 mins.
for me guiu impressed me the most actually. Great first touch and ball control. You can see he comes from la masia
Compare rapid Vienna to League one is mad
Would say don’t get too excited about Guiu, let’s not forget how Jackson looked in preseason. EPL match day a way different level. But he did look decent
And jackson didnt have a bad season in fact in comparison he has a better start than lots of top strikers did when they 1st came to england
Examples
Haaland 27 goals/ 34 MC = .8%
Isak 21 goals / 21 MC = 1.0%
Watkins 19 goals/ 22 MC = .86%
Jackson 14 goals/ 24 MC = .58%
Most these strikers are basically getting you a goal for every missed chance while Jackson is double that, he’s in Nunez territory
Think the performance was impressive considering the fact that some of our key players we absent and they've trained for just should I say two weeks... we'll only get better
Great review Yan!💙👍
Santos a bit wobly, Chilwell good player. Your bias has no bounds
he is siding too much with tiki taka something a lot of managers do not like.
Gwaaaaan yaaaaan!
I think James occupied that middle more cause we weren't defending much in that first half
We stunk up 2nd half
Bro... this is a bunch of kids who have never played in this system; experiencing it for the first time, after being away from football.
The system just dulled the sharpness and prowess of our full backs
We are inverting like the best RB products in the world
It just felt weird to be honest
Its not a good idea from yesterday's game
We looked like we flew for 12 hours the day before and kicked off at 3am BST. Idc if you are only 21 years old, that’s rough. Next!
I think we Chelsea fans deserve to be excited about the prospect of not being completely shit next season- not ‘80s shit but dross by 21st century standards - and I share the hope that we may even be pretty damn good but I think we should also remain humble and cautious for many reasons;
Midfield - personally I think Caicedo has proven himself to be a quality premiership player, as has Gallagher (which may explain why he’s likely to leave…as Blueco, are we a development and selling club?) but for me the jury is still out on Enzo F (and that was before the song), we don’t know about KDH in the Premier league, we really don’t know about, one season at a relegated club, Lavia who’s coming off of a bad injury (though he looked tasty against Wrexham) or Carney (very mixed in the first outing) or Big Les or (to be loaned out) Santos…so the midfield is a big question mark to me and we haven’t even talked about the inverted full backs playing midfield.
James - if he stays injury free and on the pitch, which history tells us is unlikely- can thrive anywhere but Chilwell looks done so we’re reliant on untested 20 yr old Veiga or an out of position Colwill to cover Cucu…
I have the most confidence about our forwards.
I just don't want any injuries. and they understand the system
My take.. hopefully I’m wrong. But I think we gonna miss poch. We only lost 1 game in our last 15 games under him. This guy wants to be pep too much, dresses the same, looks the same and even his mannerisms are the same. There’s a reason he got sacked by a serie B team.
