We need a more combative central defender; one of my reservations about Maresca-ball was the passive defensive organisation at Leicester last season. They retreated into their 18 yard box and even then did not close down attackers closely enough. The other crying requirement is for a 20 goal-a-season striker who can also play with his back to a defender a-la Costa, and be effective with both feet. Finally, we are now in the testing zone for Maresca himself: how flexible can he be with formation, selection, and substitution? How long can he fall back on the claim that the players are learning?
Look, I get the draw of recalling Santos. But, Strasbourg may be 10th, but they are only 5 points above the relegation zone. I'd prefer we buy/play another young player that can add legs, then swap Santos for that player in the summer. It is absolutely pivotal Strasbourg stay competitive for Blue Co's future. As far as a striker, we need someone that can beat a man and hit the target. I'm not going to guess names (but I love Endrick and think he could be available) because the Chelsea machine seems to spit out better names than most of us know (Duran, Samu, All would be great right now).
For me Delap is a must have. I’m fully aware he’s young and raw. But he can bully defenders like no one else in the league can. We can mix it up a bit as well with him as an old school front man.
@ hi mate. All a matter of opinion eh. Delap is twice the size. Pure monster. Let’s see what happens. Either way. We must secure 4th spot. Come on you blues 💙
Maresca has the same issue at Leicester around this time of the season, massive drop off but he still got them over the line. Granted we need a proper striker and goalkeeper and a better central defender Forfana is too injury prone so I can’t see him being the right fit long term. I do still think we’re on the right path it was never going to be easy this season we were getting carried away.
He got them over the line because they had an absolutely massive points lead with not many game to play. We have a far smaller gap with lots of good teams on our tail or already past us now, and half the season to play.
@ the pont is still valid he as well as the players will have to find a way. It’s mental that two weeks ago everybody thinks he’s great manager and he’s gonna win the league this year. Nobody expected us to he be out of mid table. So all things considered it’s not that bad. Signings need to be made but that’s down to the owners.
Jackson would benefit long term from an elite striker coming in. Lack of competition hindering his progress, doing alright but needs the push. Could we recall Santos and send big Lesley over there for minutes?
New owners won’t spend on Osimhen I know in the summer it was allegedly close, but when you think about how long the window was open for and how they took it to the wire tells me they weren’t that interested if not for the price they want to pay.
He plays in Afcon. He's a complete waste of time and money. We need dedicated strikers every month. Not another going missing every Jan and Feb. Get that into your head. Plus he's not doing it in Turkey.
We tried to sign him in summer when he was DESPERATE to leave and still couldn't get his wage over the line. He went to Turkey LOL. So people really need to smell the coffee on that one
Hilarious how fans talk like it's just guaranteed that if they brought on 'x player' or he made these substitutions at 'x time in the game', the results would have ended differently. The fact is that you're a professional football, made hundreds of thousands of pounds per week, you should be able to put in a certain level of intensity for a 90minute game, once per week. Maresca has coached a win in all 4 games against Everton, Fulham, Ipswich and Palace, yet our players haven't been clinical enough, Sanchez continues to play it long when he's repeatedly told not to, and our midfielders constantly get caught playing around with it in the centre of the park when everyone is forward.
Maresca has always said he doesn’t like to put pressure on injured players. Him saying that Fofana may be out for a long time is just to stop the press asking every week when he’ll be back. It’s just player management
To be honest, not a fan of Maresca’s response regarding subs, where he couldn’t find any player to replace with. Late in the game, there’s always a need for fresh legs, and you can tweak the setup to try a different way of securing the second goal that would have guaranteed the win.
The disrespect and disregard of Felix and Nkunku is now overboard and for the wrong reasons. Nkunku played excellent v Southampton earlier when he actually started. How's his 65 min performance v Ipswich, where arguably the whole team was poor scrutinized so abnormally? Are we so demented that we forgot how good Felix was v Leicester?
If we go for a striker we need to go for the correct one. This situation reminds me of the period where for about 2-3 seasons after drogba we stuck by torres but it clearly wasn't working out. We tried cheap option which did decent ie Demba Ba but we need our Diego Costa type signing now. 32m then is a 70m signing today. We need someone that is clinical, I like delap but I'm not sure that's him, isak or Duran is my choice. We do need to get rid of disasi and bring in a cb too this month. I actually think Sanchez has been doing ok recently and Jorgensen is good. I'd leave a GK signing for the summer.
I'd look at getting Chalobah and Santos back early from their loans right now,we need more back up, especially in those positions. Again though we could use Veiga in midfield
If buying a striker in Jan they must be a prem experienced one, otherwise wait and take a punt on qualification. I don’t think we can wait, last 4 games have shown that, and we need a good CB too!
We’ve nearly always had managers that seem to become audience in difficult matches, instead of those that can ring the necessary changes to bring energy where it’s needed. We were losing momentum, possession 15 -20 mins before they scored, sorry but a smart manager makes key changes as soon as that starts to happen, conversely Chelsea managers wait until the opposition scores and then makes changes. Players are coming on not to hold the lead and apply pressure at the other end of the pitch, they are left coming on to rescue the game. It’s not good enough!
I'm only slightly concerned about Delap. It was the same w Nico if I'm being honest. Delap and Nico both seem to back themselves and I like that. A defender, yes. Still sticking w seeing more outgoings>incomings and a focus on playing style and consistent great performances #ktbffh
cesare casadei is a very good player, he was one of the best U-18 players in the world and bests players in the world cup. we just didn't give him chance at the highest level but he can definitely play for us.
Hey Yan,Fantastic content(with a true&leveled!,,representation of where we are as a team this season) as always brother!🐼...Just a Question?, using Maresca System!?...What would be your All time Squad(not just first team 11),But squad(26 man)?!,Here is a taster...GK: Petr Čech RB Reece James RCB Ricardo Carvalho LCB John Terry LB Ashley Cole DM Claude Makélélé RCM Frank Lampard LCM Michael Essien RW Arjen Robben LW Hazard ST:Drogba....first team...Squad!..Čech,Courtois,Cudicini...Terry,Carvalho,Rüdiger,Desailly,Cole,James,Cucurella,Azpilicueta... CMakélélé,Kanté,Lampard,Essien,Oscar,Palmer...Robben,Duff,Willian,.Hazard,Zola,Anelka,Hasselbaink,Drogba ...KTBFFH 🏴☠
Players always downplay injuries and are overly optimistic about return dates. Tts clear Wesley will have to be nursed back and slowly integrated into the team otherwise risk further injury. Effectively if its 6 weeks, that still doesnt take into account the slow reintegration back...which will probably be taken slowly and...end of the season is here
What we have is a very young team full of promise who will more likely than not be a world class outfit in two or three years but are not there yet. At this point we can either settle for a team that are sometimes brilliant and sometimes mediocre and aim for top four every year (a la Arsenal a few years ago) OR bite the bullet, open the purse and buy a galacto level goalkeeper, striker and midfielder who are brilliant NOW and let them hold the fort until our promising young players mature. The fans will no doubt prefer option #2, the owners option #1. Does that sum it up?
The KDH signing has been bad for so many reasons. Blocking players like casadei and carney from playing preferred atttacking mid positions. Possibly raising their profiles, getting better transfers or being trusted with some first team minutes.
wingers/attackers are supposed to weigh in with a substantial number of goals. This is not a Jackson problem entirely. those attackers should up their game and be as clinical as Palmer
Yan I'm beginning to doubt your honesty on Chelsea issues. You are telling me felix can't have an impact when brought on. It's clear you are ok as far as your fav players are on the pitch. Palmer has been ghosting in 2nd halves for quite sone time now. Sancho was tired and stopped running early into the 2nd half. It wasn't working with Jackson and Palmer was making silly mistakes. Maresca clearly showing he has zero game management skill gives the most useless interview after the game and you are happy supporting him. Support your fav, we will all feel the impact of the fall
Agreed mate Maresca needs to know when changes are needed, his game management is totally off. He has no idea when to change things this is his weakness, with a massive squad!
Fairs. This is NOT our blip. That is still coming. This is a cumulation of inept game management by an inexperienced Championship manager, I say that, and I'm a 100% Maresca is our guy.
@BraccoDeracine Don't get me wrong, I like the guy for several reasons but the more mistakes he makes the more it looks like everything we've been enjoying was pure luck. Same mistakes every game and per his own words after the game, it's clear he doesn't even notice when players are tired or out of the game. Our attack went dead in the 2nd half and he didn't even see it
Maresca is more concerned about not losing games than making risky substitutions that could bring in dividends (Felix, Guiu etc.) and I don't mean the last 10-minute charity game time...
Same gutted we didn't get him for £40m at the beginning of the season. Just Jackson having competition would be enough, they are both hungry and the rivalry will only make grow faster
If we did buy osimhen in Jan with a view to solidify top four, both he and jackson could miss Bournemouth, wolves, City, west ham & villa games due to AFCON. Might be too far behind by then anyway.
Come on Yan, when that reporter asked Maresca why he didn't use the bench and he said who... How about the other 2 number 10's you've got on the bench. Although Palmer is our best players everyone can see that he is mentally fatigued hence the reason why he gave possession away that led to the equaliser, in fact the whole midfield is running on empty... It's no coincidence that we've conceded late goals in our last few matches. Look whats happened to Saka at Arsenal...Artetta has over played him & look whats happened to him, they will be lucky to saka again before the end of the season. Maresca has massively misused this squad of players & now it seems he's losing the dressing room. Now it looks like he's starting on Fofana. Our players that he refuses to play can't be that bad because as soon as the club put out that the players are for sale there is a queue of clubs wanting to sign them. Mark my words when the young Brazilians come to Chelsea in the summer we'll be having this same conversation about players not getting game time.
Absolute waffle. Felix and Nkinku have done nothing, Cole doesn't look tired. Us conceding late goals or a striker not finishing chances is not down to Cole Palmer. We look inexperienced and ragged at the back, still have a pretty crap keeper and are solely relying on Jackson, who is good, but not good enough to be the only option. We need a couple of solid, experienced pros who don't get injured often to settle this young team down.
@@rynoburrow I'm not blaming palmer, he's far away our best player, i'm just stating the fact that he does look mentally fatigued at times! He's been carrying this team on his back for nearly 2 season. He needs help sometimes, i'm putting this on Maresca he needs to find a plan B.... You can't tell me Nkunku & Felix are rubbish players! They might not suit the system that Maresca wants... It's just unfortunate that they play the same position that palmer plays in. I agree with you about getting solid pros, but we both know that solid pros are aged between 28 - 30 yrs old... The club policy is to sign young players with a high sell on value so thats never gonna happen.
Guiu Sancho Nkunku Palmer Enzo Caicedo Cucu Colwill Acheampong Gusto Please play this lineup. Lavia in if fit for Enzo, and Reece for Gusto if fit. Also I like Santos but is annoying hearing how he leads in all these ball winning stats that Gallagher literally lead in yet we got rid of him bc he’s not a “fit”
Not probably a popular thought but Palmer lost the ball in central midfield that led to the equaliser. He made very little effort to re win the ball or track back. In a game where we are one nil up 15 minutes to go. What about bringing in a defender that could play defensive midfielder like james on the bench who could do with some small amount of time or Tosin. shore up and take the three points. 1 up we dont need flair we need solid and steady.
Well look why we lost another 2 points against Palace. Palmer lost the ball and bang equalizer. Felix a very good player but they don't give him a chance to start.
Don't remember him being injured this season... I know he hasnt played im just taking the piss.. but he hasn't been injured. Can easily see him slotting into Amorims UTD
For the love of god just play Palmer on the right and put Nkunku or Felix in his proper position centrally, or if Palmer really needs a rest, which he probably shouldn’t given he’s only playing league games, just bring him on after an hour next game.
We have Veiga & Casadei for that midfield & Marc Guiu. Please tell me what Games they have stunk out the place for them not to play for 20 minutes????? No need for Delap or recalls???
@tonythebomb4147 yeah I don't understand why? Well I think Enzo don't get on with him if he goes on loan cause he should be get at least 20 minutes in the Prem he's got power pace is good in the box & his defence work is getting better.
Some players cannot stay fit. LAVIA, JAMES, FOFANA. GET THEM FIT AND SELL. WHY SELL CACADEI ? Another stupid decision like selling GUEHI for 18m that we now want to buy back for 70m.. Selling TOMORI and next to go is TREVOR. All stupid decisions and ALL better than any defenders we have,
LETS NOT PUMP UP JACKSON AS A CF, LOOK AT WHERE HE PLAYED IN SPAIN, MAINLY RW, SOME LW and ONLY A HANDFUL OF GAMES AS CF. HE WAS CHEAP FOR A REASON. IF HE WAS A TOP CF HE WOULD HAVE BEEN TRIPLE THE PRICE
I've never seen defenders as fragile as our center backs especially Colwill. I'm more confident watching Moi and Enzo go into tackles than our CBs. The only thing chelsea fans know is buy buy buy. We have a squad capable of running through every team in the league but we chose to employ a manager that feels ok telling the players it's ok to lose games. This guy is just obsessed with city players that it makes me sick. Delap is just Guiu with more opportunities. Time will tell it's own stories
Finishing sixth would be totally unacceptable Same as last season? NO ! We need sporting directors to wake up and sell players who are never going to make it with us Several keepers, Chilwell, Disasi, Casadei, Dewsbury Hall, Carney, Nkunku and various kids boehly signed in the early days who nobody can remember How much are they worth? Conservative 200m ? I think we’ll persevere with Sanchez but we could get a world class centre back and striker
What is hilariousssss is how often I heard, we have too many midfielders at the beginning the season. Oh no how are we going to fit all these players on the field... we have too much depthhh. Blah blah blah... now we have tired players and is approaching a fatigue crisis lol.
Yan please make them get Osimhen. There is no striker far better rn in the world, not to talk bout the experience and the fact he is a pressing machine
Jorgensen is only good enough 2b tha 2nd choice keeper.. No wonder we lost 2 Ipswich with Jorgensen in goal & Disasi on defence, you've always gotta chance..
I will keep on saying it, Poch should have stayed another season, Maersca is not that experienced, we have Chukwuemeka and Felix. Also Nkunku is not being adequately utilized
Why do people think players are just plug-n-play... Like we're just going to put Santos in the team the first day back from loan and he's going to play just as well, no problems at all? Mind you he's playing in a worse league. Let him develop, let him cook!

Not any better than Mark Guiu.
We need Oshimen because he also brings leadership. Remember oshimen is a title winning striker
and demands money. i don't think this ownership will give him that with the way they want their contracts structured
New owners won’t spend on Osimhen I know in the summer it was allegedly close, but when you think about how long the window was open for and how they took it to the wire tells me they weren’t that interested if not for the price they want to pay.
Leadership and primadonna vibes, hard pass
He plays in Afcon. He's a complete waste of time and money. We need dedicated strikers every month. Not another going missing every Jan and Feb. Get that into your head. Plus he's not doing it in Turkey.
We tried to sign him in summer when he was DESPERATE to leave and still couldn't get his wage over the line. He went to Turkey LOL. So people really need to smell the coffee on that one
Delap, a defender, and Santos back as midfield cover … would be a dream.
We need to offload Disasi take 15-20 call it quits
Its huge mistake buy Delap is too soon for him,we need Gyokeres or Oshinmen
We need a rotation striker for now Osimhen maybe soon
The disrespect and disregard of Felix and Nkunku is now overboard and for the wrong reasons. Nkunku played excellent v Southampton earlier when he actually started. How's his 65 min performance v Ipswich, where arguably the whole team was poor scrutinized so abnormally? Are we so demented that we forgot how good Felix was v Leicester?
No not Felix, but Madueke earlier in place of Sancho and on the right would have helped.
Delay is a different profile so I will take him
cesare casadei is a very good player, he was one of the best U-18 players in the world and bests players in the world cup. we just didn't give him chance at the highest level but he can definitely play for us.
Hey Yan,Fantastic content(with a true&leveled!,,representation of where we are as a team this season) as always brother!🐼...Just a Question?, using Maresca System!?...What would be your All time Squad(not just first team 11),But squad(26 man)?!,Here is a taster...GK: Petr Čech
RB Reece James
RCB Ricardo Carvalho
LCB John Terry
LB Ashley Cole
DM Claude Makélélé
RCM Frank Lampard
LCM Michael Essien
RW Arjen Robben
LW Hazard
ST:Drogba....first team...Squad!..Čech,Courtois,Cudicini...Terry,Carvalho,Rüdiger,Desailly,Cole,James,Cucurella,Azpilicueta... CMakélélé,Kanté,Lampard,Essien,Oscar,Palmer...Robben,Duff,Willian,.Hazard,Zola,Anelka,Hasselbaink,Drogba
...KTBFFH 🏴☠
The only change that would of help us is of lavia was fit take if enzo
At last, someone talking sense rather than just complaining that maresca should've made substitutions.
👏👏👏👏👏
Sancho could have moved to the right Felix on to the left Vega into midfield and play a holding 442 with guiu
Lavia will really shore things up and free up Maresca mentally to have Felix and Palmer on at the same time if need be
Blank check on a defensive line yet chalobah, guehi, Lewis hall, & livramento were at the club to begin with
Maresca is also learning on the job. Making right subs at right time, utilising 5 sub rule etc he's yet to learn
I want Jhon Duran, amazing striker, liver of the chels and looks good this season for a backup striker!
We've won the game we've played it nicely. Change the flow dig in and hold.
Guiu
Sancho Nkunku Palmer
Enzo Caicedo
Cucu Colwill Acheampong Gusto
Please play this lineup. Lavia in if fit for Enzo, and Reece for Gusto if fit.
Also I like Santos but is annoying hearing how he leads in all these ball winning stats that Gallagher literally lead in yet we got rid of him bc he’s not a “fit”
Enzo wants new expensive CB? That assumes Disastersee is getting the heave ho this summer and Fofana will never last a season.
“Fofana will never last season” 🧐
Not probably a popular thought but Palmer lost the ball in central midfield that led to the equaliser. He made very little effort to re win the ball or track back. In a game where we are one nil up 15 minutes to go. What about bringing in a defender that could play defensive midfielder like james on the bench who could do with some small amount of time or Tosin. shore up and take the three points. 1 up we dont need flair we need solid and steady.
forgot to say bring on that defensive player at the expense of palme . man needs rest too.
Nico a'int it Liam Delap is the real deal
Yes bring back Santos with lavia struggling with injuries. Delap is like Jackson raw not the finished article
Felix can’t be on the field until we have more stability in midfield and defense. He loses possession for fun along with his creativity.
Well look why we lost another 2 points against Palace.
Palmer lost the ball and bang equalizer.
Felix a very good player but they don't give him a chance to start.
We need a prolific and established striker because we can't only trust average Jackson as our striker to finish top 4
Liking Fofana is like liking Reece James. It’s nice, but you can’t plan on them being available.
Get oshimen we need a established ucl ST
Drwam on
No one is taking Chilwell because every season he gets injured.
Don't remember him being injured this season... I know he hasnt played im just taking the piss.. but he hasn't been injured. Can easily see him slotting into Amorims UTD
I'd like the club to sign lukeba, sheloterbec or sule
We need to splash the cash and get Osimehn now!
Yanny please add chapters vi a timeline so we can scroll to topics
I don't understand how we're not at least recalling ugochukwu to me he proved last season he's capable and can help us off the bench
Your too polite, where is your anger. Manager has been awful.
Casadei will be going on loan.
@tonythebomb4147 yeah I don't understand why?
Well I think Enzo don't get on with him if he goes on loan cause he should be get at least 20 minutes in the Prem he's got power pace is good in the box & his defence work is getting better.
I would rather have oshimen over delap…… We need a point man that can score headers and finishes = oshimen
No way that Ipswich sells Delap if they have a chance to avoid relegation
He would have made a sub change cole palmer for Felix he would was tired
We win last game with Delap or Duran absolutely needed. Get a young talented RCB move Josh to RB no need to recall. Huijsen or Khusanov
An established striker and defender is what we need
Anselmino was recalled from Boa Juniors.
Recall Chalobah.
We should sell Disasi and buy back Tomori for 25M as weve been offered as I dont feel tha club are lookin 2spend big in this window..
We should have an agreement to buy and loan back
Need a goal scorer for 2 years now for gods sake , got to change it up Jackson has it but not consistent enough
Getting a good should have been the focus when Tiago left....but no we were in the wonder till reality hits
Wasn't there criticism re Maresca's stubbornness over subs at LCFC? Or was it something else and I'm getting my facts mixed up?
IF HE WAS A TOP CF HE WOULD HAVE BEEN TRIPLE THE PRICE
chelsea need gyokeres
Unfortunately he will go to Manchester United.
Couldn't agree more on Colwill. We're gonna need to have a serious conversation about that brother.
Jackson is good but we need a top finisher and not a defender in Chelsea.
Yes buy this manager more players for him to leave on the bench when we need them
Delap doesnt even make my top 4.
1. Issak
2. Gokyeres
3. Duran
4. Oshimen
Delap cant even touch the laces of any of those above
None of them will come to Chelsea.
Skriniar and Osihmen
“Two draws and two losses against lower-ranked clubs. Trust the process.” - Enzo Maresca
For god's sake get Sanchez out asap 🙏
Finishing sixth would be totally unacceptable
Same as last season? NO !
We need sporting directors to wake up and sell players who are never going to make it with us
Several keepers, Chilwell, Disasi, Casadei, Dewsbury Hall, Carney, Nkunku and various kids boehly signed in the early days who nobody can remember
How much are they worth? Conservative 200m ?
I think we’ll persevere with Sanchez but we could get a world class centre back and striker
Anselmino now at Chelsea why we raking about another defender.
CIACEDO,JOSH,COLWILL,CUCARELLA,SANTOS,ENZO,PALMER,WILLIAN,ISAK,PAEZ ,,, job done oh yea and find a KEEPER
Up the chels no matter what happens
I will keep on saying it, Poch should have stayed another season, Maersca is not that experienced, we have Chukwuemeka and Felix. Also Nkunku is not being adequately utilized
Well said.
Great teams can do the ugly stuff as well as the beautiful game.
OSIHMEN, HINCAPIE AND ORDOÑES THAT IS ALL WE NEED
Other than Osimhen the rest are mid
Pretty sure hincapie just signed a long contract
Delap is a CHEAT dived last week and again this week, leave him where he is and break the bank for ISAK
Getting de lap will be a mistake - geza is a diver. Lets not get on the hype train pls; we need a proven striker. We have enough potential ..
There’s a few striker I feel like we should try to sign:-
1) Oshimen
2) Gyokeres
3) Guirassy
4) Isak
5) Duran
jaoa Pedro
@ ohh yeah Pedro is another good one
Boniface
CHILWELL is an inury prone LWB who was well below par during his last run.
Why do people think players are just plug-n-play... Like we're just going to put Santos in the team the first day back from loan and he's going to play just as well, no problems at all? Mind you he's playing in a worse league. Let him develop, let him cook!
