Love our X Plaid overall but there are some quirks. I’m not a fan of the self presenting front doors - turned the feature off since there were too many false positives. Also had 2 instances where the car threw a bunch of errors - did the reset and luckily hasn’t come back in the last 2 months but still see a bug with lightshow - wanted to load up a custom light show for Halloween but it would stop several seconds in regardless if it was a custom show or one of the stock ones. I do have to say I love the falcon wing doors and would go as far as saying if you have a kid, it’s a must. So much easier loading our 4 1/2 year old in and out of the X compared to our Y or 3 that I traded.
Agree 100%. Though I personally have never seen those issues there are other small things that occur from time to time that I don't like.
That red on white is TOO FIRE! How's the ride quality on the 20s? I tested a X long range a few weeks ago on 22s and it was rough

Could that be due to they take sensors out since they want to use vision control. By the way, I like the wing door since it's so cool.
Did you get Auto Summon feature enabled in the app?
I definitely a big thank you for the X content. I’m back-and-forth between whether I want an X or a Y I like the extra space in the X for sure, but I just don’t know if it’s really worth paying double the price of a Y.
No problem! I’d agree not worth double the price. The X just has some (pardon the pun) X factors that you can’t get anywhere else. The Model Y was a great car and especially now provides great value
Will Tesla fix panel gapping, paint swirls/chips?

Just got our Y 2 months ago. It’s my wife’s but I love it. Went on our first long road trip this past weekend and love it even more with the ease of supercharging. I drive a F150 and would totally be up to trading it in for an X. Even with 0% financing I got back in 2020. There’s 4 of us, 5 including my sister plus I’m on the taller side so the X intrigues me. That much roomier?
Definitely feels like a lot more room coming from the Y to the X. Glad you guys are liking it
On your trade-in, did you have to get it reappraised since it went over 30-days? If so, did they attempt to lower the value? I’m waiting on my MX Plaid in the same color. The date has jumped around a few times. Currently it says Jan 3 - February 28. Also, has Tesla fixed the sensor issue so you can use your parking, autopilot, and door features?
Yes it did have to be reappraised and yes value did decrease as mileage had also increased during that time. But nothing drastic that I can remember.
Unfortunately no, these features are still limited. My wife also just picked up a MX plaid and same for hers. This is frustrating but overall we clearly like the car as we now have two.
Just picked up our x plaid today. What a car! The issue of not detecting close stuff does suck. So the hardware 4 will eventually do that?
It’s a nice ride! And yes however there’s no definitive timeline of when it will actually happen. What color did you get?
Edit: right on cue got a software update today for park assist 👍🏿

@@justinmorris9802 unfortunately the driver and passenger doors still do not open wide. I spoke with a Tesla designer/engineer and they said this is something they are working on diligently but no release date as of now
Tesla does not have dealerships. The service dept. gave you value added customer service. Since the falcon wing doors are a bit too flashy, you might consider the Tesla Y in the future.
If you watch any of my previous videos or even the first few minutes of this one, you can see that I came from the Y. I like the doors, however from someone who likes a little flash they do come off as even more flashy, so I figured I’d give that viewpoint for someone on the fence. And call ‘em what you want, service center or dealership 🤷♂️
@@Macstechtoybox Traditionally, car dealerships have been individually-owned franchises.Tesla doesn’t have dealerships, they have Tesla Stores, and service centers. They’re usually found integrated into a popular mall or shopping center. This format entirely removes the stereotypical sales-pitch that often comes with a car dealership; the people working in the Tesla stores are not trying to sell you a vehicle. They are there simply to educate and yes, a possible test drive. Unlike a dealership where one can purchase a vehicle right off the lot, you can only purchase a Tesla online.
Dealership is not synonymous with Tesla.

Any idea when they finally get us update with Tesla Vision? Without USS sensors and with no Tesla Vision it very difficult to park and drive in narrow spaces in the huge X car. It is a pain for me. Paid such a money and even no USS neither bird view ni Tesla Vision, hate Tesla for that. Same issue with the doors, though the angle would be a wider, but the service said new cars has same small opening due to missing of USS. Bought same front mudguards, for me I found them too long, so the idea was to cut it for 2 inches, thankfully they have long softer part. Didn't apply yet and still thinking how to cut them correctly.
No clue on when the update would arrive. I wish I had some insider information on that as I too feel like this is an issue with parking

For me, insurance was slightly more than the Y. Teslas in general carry higher premiums depending on the car you are coming from. You should be able to get a quote from your current insurance provider though.
I'm picking up my MXP '23 in 2 days and i'm not happy to hear about those features not being there. I received no such email about them not working.
Curious to know when you placed your order? I wonder if you placed order after they made the announcement of no IR and moving forward with Tesla vision, if they would no longer send any emails

I've heard that the model Y has better backseat room than the model X because the floor is a bit lower. Have you noticed this?
Hmmm not sure it’s a good comparison. There’s definitely more room in the second row/backseat of the X as there’s only two seats
@@Macstechtoybox I suppose I mean thigh and leg room. would you say your knees sit a bit higher in the model X? The overall cabin room is larger in the X no doubt, but the leg room and thigh support seem better in the Y because the seats sit a bit higher IMO. I was wondering how you've felt since owning both
@TECHPROPH gotcha. I wish I could give you an honest opinion but I don’t do much time sitting in the backseat of the X and didn’t spend much time in the Y. Because I have the X now I’d like to say there’s more leg and thigh room there now but 🤷🏿♂️ I just never sit much in the backseat. Sorry

Did they offer you a fair trade in? My trade for my Model 3 was AWFUL.
It was a decent offer. Car Max probably gives the best offers on used cars if you’re shopping around. However I didn’t want to sell to a third party. The biggest lost in residual value is due to their drop in prices on new Teslas across the board from last year to this year.
@@Macstechtoybox Thanks for the info. I was offered $22k for my 2018 Model 3 with AWD/FSD 50K miles. Looking around online I saw similar specs going for $35,000~. I ended up settling with someone I know for $30K. Im guessing they're offering nothing on model 3s and more on model ys
I agree, Carmax usually offers more. I was disappointed with the offer Tesla gave for our 21 Model Y.
