@@rosh4017 Was there tonight and hope to be there again for Houston. The Twins have been playing legit ball since the AS break. They did fine against teams outside of our weak division. Have both the pitching and offense to beat the Astros. Not saying Twins would or should be favored, but I think they would have a 40% chance to win the series.

The Jays and their fans really never learn to stop acting so cocky for no reason all the time. Like you said, they were only gifted a wild card spot by relying on another team to lose and basically acted like they won the World Series. Last year, they were almost guaranteeing victory and then got bounced in two games. They've been riding the coattails of that one big home run in 2015 for some reason, considering it didn't even really get them anything besides out of the first round.

It wasn't that challenging of a throw. More overaggressive of Bichette (although I was thinking the same thing when I saw the ball roll under the third baseman's glove)..

Definitely not an easy play, he was off balance, if Bo didn't slow coming to third he would have made it. Liked the aggressive play

That defensive gem by Correa at 6:28 isn’t being talked about enough. That possibly changed the whole game
It changed the game, but it wasn't SO difficult a play (for any major-league shortstop). More of a dumb decision by Bichette (and/or the third base coach).
@@damac5136 What are you talking about? That throw was a laser and couldn't have been any more accurate. Not to mention he came all the way over from 2nd base. People are missing how great of a play that was. It was NOT a bad decision for Bo to go there, Correa just made an amazing play. Also, not difficult for any major league shortstop??? Bo makes it home if almost any other shortstop attempts that throw.

I think the Twins defense also deserves a tip of the cap, especially Taylor. I'm a Jays fan, but the Twins had a few highlight reel plays tonight, any of which could have swung the game. Well played Twins.

The Blue Jays: Gausman struggles the most against the Twins, it's his worst match up and they never chase his pitches.
Also the Blue Jays: So we're starting Gausman and having him throw outside the zone exclusively to get them to chase!
I love Gausman, hes my favourite to watch, but clearly he has a bad matchup vs the Twins and it got in his head, why start him over Bassitt? He still managed to pitch well only giving up 3 from HRs, but I'm really unhappy and worried about these decisions made by the Management.
His issue in this game was that his pitches weren't close enough to chase, fastball 6 inches off the plate regularly, and splitter bouncing in, not hard to lay off it.
"But he's our best starter!" - Blue Jays Management.
"But he gets no run support" - Everyone with a brain.
"I know! Let's announce Berrios INSTEAD OF BASSIT for Game 2. That way Bassit can come in and clean up Game 3. Gosh, we are so smart." - Management
It's like they planned on losing Game 1. I strongly hope the higher ups fire the analytics people. They clearly don't understand this team.
Also, Bo Bichette needs a smack. 3 awful plays with 2 of them being costly.
@@davidwhidden9337 Completely agreed, Bo needs to take a course on base running. And Berrios game 2 makes no sense.. I’d rather see Kikuchi, but ideally Bassitt. Issue with Kikuchi is you know we need all the Pitchers we used in relief of Gausman’s start, because as soon as Kikuchi gets tilted or tired, he becomes a batting practice pitcher.

The Twins hadn't won a game in the Postseason in 18 straight games. The cure for that was simple - Compete in the Postseason against the Blue Jays.
I don't think Gausman was tipping the splitter, he was just failing to make it even close to enticing. They were starting out low and falling to the ground. Not so difficult to lay off those. Lousy start by him. Seeing as he is anything but a big-game pitcher, I am not surprised.
I'm a Mets fan but I love baseball and I love seeing the twin cities rock out like that. Duran will be my next jersey.

Finished as the 6th seed of the 15 teams in the AL. (Actually slightly ahead of Minny, so finished 5th by their W-L record). Not outstanding, but not shabby. Lotsa inconsistency in their ability to string hits together. But, overall their pitching and defence has been stellar and the experts say that's what wins during playoffs.
I've watched every single 18 game loss. Now I've watched the end of the streak. Glad that's done. Now win tomorrow boys! Get it Done! Woo!
Literally zero Jays fans are surprised by this. We know who's moving on, frankly I'm sick of investing my time in a failed reboot, and a "core" that reminds me more of the Leafs than a baseball team. Sad to say but I hate our team lol, I can't get excited or be surprised or even upset anymore. All I can do is wish the Twins the best and hope and pray for a.complete teardown this off season.
