That unassisted double play by Peña may have been the most important single play in the game if not the series. It was the difference in the Twins scoring 2 vs 3, all other things being equal. Of course, if he hadn't gotten the tag, who knows what else might have happened, but it was huge regardless.
Julien should of had a triple. If that wasn't bad enough he gets caught watching the softest line drive and gets doubled off. Twins were unserious from the start
Nah 7 straight ALCS is absolutely ridiculous. This is a level of winning that becomes ever more impressive when you’d see all the changes that have occurred in Baseball especially the playoff format over these seven seasons. At this point you have to respect the absolute dominance Houston has achieved.
It is pretty damn amazing. I don't remember much of anything after 2016 after my O's got bounced by Toronto in the Wild Card. I just quit sports for awhile after that 😅
The rangers Astros ALCS series is going to be one of the best ALCS of all time. I have it going 7 games with the Astros winning. Both stadiums are going to be extremely electric, and I would not be surprised if the benches clear. I’m really looking forward to it as an Astros fan

Astros need Tuck to start hitting and hope that neither Yordan or Abreu get cold. Having Brantley is a so much needed outfielder bat, because Chas and Jake are not consistent hitters.
A tip of the hat to the unsung hero, Urquidy for pitching a solid game. He hasn't pitched well when he's been called upon, but he came through when the team needed it. Also, this is the Jose Abreu that we all hoped to see during the regular season. I'm just glad he's rocking right now when it's most needed. Solid defense and great pitching is what will win these upcoming games. If the Astros can get to the rangers bullpen, that'll be the big difference. They need to be patient and take some pitches to run that pitch count up on those rangers starters. These two teams know each other well. It'll be a battle but I believe the Astros come out on top when its all said and done. GO STROS!!

The guy has only pitched 63 innings (maybe a third of a season of pitching) and has a 5.29 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. Those are definitely not good numbers. Thankfully he was solid in this game and I'm hoping that gives him the boost of confidence to pitch like that again when called upon. As for Abreu, as my friend pointed out, I was talking of the 1st baseman JOSE Abreu. Not the lights-out pitcher BRYAN Abreu.
I agree. Urquidy isn't good for long stretches but he's always had a solid 3 or 4 innings. Once he hits the 5th he usually gets shakey. I wouldn't have minded if he and JP France did a split. I'm glad for the most part that our pitching is better. Graveman I was happy to have back but he hasn't been as shar as before. He may play the next series but we've got a great core so far. Yeah a lot of folks were saying how bad the Bryan Abreu deal was after the first few months of the season. Now people realize why we got him. Go Stros!

that play by pena in the first proved to be a game winning play. unbelievable that it's only his 2nd year in the bigs. He flies under the radar cause his offensive stats aren't always there, but he has such poise and never shies away from the moment

In all likelihood, Astros would’ve won 100+ games if Altuve, Alvarez, Brantley, etc didn’t miss at least 40 games this season, and Dusty wasn’t busy experimenting with the lineup all the time. Some may say, this helped them feel “battle-tested” for the postseason, but it certainly led to a lack of confidence during the regular season.

But you get these scrubs who had to fight for a sixth entering the playoffs already in playoff mode then playing teams that sat for over a week and haven't been in playoff mode for a while because they were so good.
