Install a Maxxair Fan on a Ford Transit

- Follow along step by step as I install an Airxcel MaxxFan (Maxxair Fan) on the roof of my Ford Transit 2021 high roof extended cargo van using the Hein DIYVan adapter.

Longer screws: #8 1.5" pan head screw, stainless

Great but now what about power?
12V DC. I haven't had any issues with my fan's control board. Some people have insisted on putting something in-line to ensure 12V DC. I think the company fixed the issue with newer boards and will send a replacement board if needed. Call them for details.
Awesome video! I bought a Ford Transit Trail EXT and it came with the Maxx Air Van Deluxe 7500. It is a poor installation from the factory and I need to remove it and put it back like you did. My question is ...the Vent adapter that you use is going to be the same for the front of the van? I know you put the fan on the back but the transit came with the fan on top of the crew bench. Do you think it is the same or I need to buy a different one for the front of the van? 🤔 Thanks !!!
To get the correct roof adapter, DIYVan has offerings for different locations on the roof. Select the one which best fits your location. I'm sure they can help you get the correct one.
My fan is in the furthest forward spot on the Transit roof, btw. :) My RTX 2000 is in the furthest rear bay of an extended length Transit.

@@VanTransitionsohh good to know. You said that you have an RTX2000 A/C. Can you use it while the van is running or only with the battery bank? I asked you because I will install a 3 seats bench for my girls because I think the front A/C is not strong enought to get to the rear bench.
Will you do a water test to ensure no leaks? Also, does the butyl tape come with the Maxxair fan 7500 series?
After all the research I did I trusted my install. A few days later I had several strong windy rain storms and it is bone dry. I ordered the 1' butyl off Amazon: a.co/d/3a2Qbcs This is one of a ton of options.
