I agree, nice informative video on a subject of which appears to have lots of gray area. I’m a new drummer and have been spending a lot of time on basics using stick control book with a metronome. I’ve yet to develop decent finger strokes or the Moeller yet, but I’m getting decent on standard singles and doubles using free stroke. I’m trusting that at some point the speed will come and thus far, concentrating on time and same dynamics if possible with all strokes. Given that the up strike requires a bit more movement than a typical up stroke or bounce of a free stroke, is the Moeller more of a method for adding dynamics vs speed? Cause it seems no matter the player, when speed gets quick, the fingers take over and wrist remains fairly still🤔 I’ve been watching videos by Bill Bachman which I find very useful as well, and his use of the Moeller looks quite different to yours though both seem very effective. And then of course I’ve tried to follow along with the old Jim Chapin video describing it, but maybe when I tried duplicating what he was teaching, I had not the skill to make a decent attempt. No matter what, I’ll keep at it and get this stuff eventually. Thanks.

I believe the two stroke is not a tap. It's downstroke and upstroke. No tap.
A 2 note Moeller is also called a Moeller pump. That’s how I usually play the hi-hat.
