Thanks for this summary. I’m totally self-taught and naturally adopted a moeller-ish style without knowing what I was doing. This has helped me understand what I should be doing!

Jim Chapin was my teacher, friend, and mentor..I first went to JC in 1968,at 17 years old.We remained friends until the end.I learned so much from him, and Ed Shaughnessy had me doing more of the Henry Adler method...Both were valuable, but Chapin was the best..............Ralph Onofrio

Very good illustration showing with practicing the techniques how well these excercises help flow especially at higher speed. Helps motivate me honestly.
Curious your opinion, on these exercises, would you use a metronome on the and beat? Or just on the quarters? I've heard some drummers claim its better for your timing. I suppose I could mix it up as well.
      Thanks again, definitely helpful.
I have played for over 20 years but learned wrong never really had lessons. After a hiatus, I've been spending the past year or so focusing on reteaching myself back at basic technique level on all limbs.

@@rosstafarian24 thanks so much for the feedback. Yes, I highly recommend moving the metronome around. Definitely on the off beats or “and” but also on 16ths as well the “e” and “a”. I’d also have a click going for all the 16ths so you can really feel the subdivisions. We actually have a set of lessons about metronome strategies in our lesson library on our website.
