It seems like the largest corporations and ventures can end up so misguided. Youd think big companies have the resources to make sure they succeed in their projects, but big projects are fragile, and its a lot of hard work to make sure things follow through. But when they derail, it becomes impossible to manage. At this scale, the failures are devastating and affect a lot of people
They clearly have not been sitting for 5 years yet, production started in 2020 , the prices were quite high and they were produced both as a BEV and a PHEV. The cars on paper looked good, interior was largely MB inspired, however, the cars as sold disappointed and sakes were low, in 2021 MB reduced its share of the JV from 50% down to 10% and the Denza X was dropped. It was considered a learning curve by both parties. MB then formed a partnership with Geely to develop the “Smart” brand in China. These cars are likely tail end 2021 production so just over 3 years old. Someone will probably buy them cheap and ship them to Africa or S E Asia.

Looks like a business deal got sour. Nothing really related to byd one ev/hev.
The purpose of joint ventures in the automotive industry always means they both have something that will help each other. In this case Merc was after the Byd Ev tech and i can assume Byd being a new brand was after mercs build quality , interior / fit and finish ect. Multi billion dollar company's are not stupid when it comes to these things
And this helps the planet how
GIVE THE CARS TO THE VICTIMS OF THE ONES DESTROYED BY THE CCP'S MADE FLOODS?
They’ve suffered enough, no need to punish them further with Chinese electric vehicles
Ha Ha, Is an EV really a car? :D
Not until it can charge it's own battery. lol
Nature always wins
Bought for massive money then stacked on trucks like junk? Makes no sense.
Excessive fuel?
The lady said that the battery makes up 50% of the total cost of an electric vehicle , so after 5 years outside whats it value ?
As far as I can see there’s 800 bedrooms for the homeless 😅
It seems like the largest corporations and ventures can end up so misguided. Youd think big companies have the resources to make sure they succeed in their projects, but big projects are fragile, and its a lot of hard work to make sure things follow through. But when they derail, it becomes impossible to manage. At this scale, the failures are devastating and affect a lot of people
I wonder if anyone can just get a car
and drive out!?
Sure just need to hack the software first then work out how to get it home past a billion cameras.
Damn what a waste of time They always go overboard
CCP 🇨🇳
That's sales quotas and part of china's #1 global EV sales.
Great news 👍
No green mold on window seals etc. My car gets like that without driving it for a while and I’m not under any trees.
Future my arse😊😊😊
The motor trade call this a landmark.
Somewhere, out of sight, Pooh Bear takes another pie in the face. He's approaching Soupy Sales terrritory.
Thank you buddy
Rise up People of China
I'm not in favor of Communism, but isn't this "doing it wrong"..? There are a lot of Chinese people who can't afford cars, there are cars just sitting there, why wouldn't they give these cars away to people in rural areas along with a charging station for the village? We have more "Communism" in the United States, as far as things the government hands out to the people.
Are you new to the world bro
You know…most “communist” countries have never been truly communist. I hope you realize that.
@@Windows98R Of course I do, just pointing out the hypocrisy, and why the whole "real Communism has never been tried" argument persists.
Communism has 2 stages : 1st socialism , earn how much you work then 2nd. communism , you get how much you need. Communism is like horizont , how close you come the higher it get.
That actually happens a lot now that solar powered cars are being produced.
Que marcas son? Coches chinos?
Why haven't these cars been stripped? Seems like a decent amount of money could be had just stripping materials and components.
Socialism at its best.
Question is why you haven't got thoses headlights out? Lol😂😂😂😂😂
Where in the US is the pile of Fiskers?
How come none of these have went on fire ?
PMSL these cars are Not EVs they are plug-in hybrids & they have not been sitting for 5 years.
I find it interesting that the doors still open, isn’t that one of the problems of the new BYD’s?😅
For a brand new car, with zero miles, to lose 85% of its value in 5 years is completely unsustainable!
The Chinese EV market is a race to the very depths of destitution...
Ship them to USA, many cannot afford cars made locally
Thats super good for the environment
For future generations all humans should plant trees and save water soil ☘️🌱🌵🍀🪴🌏Save Earth 🌍
Looks like a great car
Padahal bisa dijual dengan cara cicilan tanpa bunga agar menarik. Atau di expor dengan harga pokok ditambah biaya pengiriman dan pajak.
That makes them great for markets like Russia & USA that sanctioned or have third party part sources for replacement parts or repairs like vintage collectibles cars like done with 3D printing parts & American Ample battery swapping
Hey send them to us in Ghana, none of our cars has effective brakes, so they will fit in fine if cheap
Woy3 kwasia 😂😂
Cant you trace them from reg and chassis number
I don’t know why they make cars without rear wipers. Stop. It’s a dealbreaker for me.
INSTEAD OF ABANDONING CARS PUT THEM ON SALE IN OTHER MARKETS
$50K EACH is way too much for a made in China car!. More like $15k is more reasonable. These are untested designs and will have parts problem due to its make. Pity they are just e-waste!.
I know from my childhood that China was good at making fireworks ;))))
No. Fireworks are fake, unless they have the words 8000 Watts, BTC, 95+Gold, ATX in it.
These would make great homes for homeless people
2:12 like what the actual fvck, man?!
BYD-Mercedes?
Mercedes has no cooperation with BYD and they do not produce any models together.
' A US Navy warship commander was relieved of duty over a 'loss of confidence' 4 months after he was photographed firing a rifle with a backward scope '
MB burned their fingers .
Now lay offs at the plant in South Africa :-(
LOL , if the cars from the field do not sell locally , just export them :-)
What country is this... Question do you want do investment in this country... Never so volatile politics... So dangerous market... Need pull out all investment 😔 never returned...
This is insane. What a waste!
