Pautzke doughbaits don't quite cut it but their eggs are top of the line. I'm a Natural deluxe man myself, mainly because they catch all three species pretty well. One of the few egg colors a Brown will take. Water is low down here in NC as well. We need some rain. Good video per the norm.
Like usual you out caught me 10:1, but I've had pretty good luck with Pautzke eggs too. I don't have to best luck fishing my local river (pretty stained water) but my local creek is a different story. Great video and thanks again for making my day earlier with that win 😀👍

How would you know when to use a mice tail vs trout magnet vs baits (eggs, worms, butter worms) ?? Do they change tastes during different temps or what? Sorry. Trying to seriously get into trout fishing. Want to learn everything I can
I always recommend starting with your favorite and work your way through your tackle box from your favorite thing to your least and you'll find that something along the way is the deal for the day. I thought I might come up with a secret weapon by scenting a trout magnet in the oil from the garlic pautzke eggs. Boy was I wrong! It made the trout magnet plastic rock hard and brittle.
With a hook that size you gotta use several. I am not talking shit either just agreeing. If you use a small egg hook, you can use a single which is what I like to do.
Is this crooked creek? My fiancé and I are getting married this Saturday and will be honeymooning in Fancy Gap, a hop skip and a throw from this creek!
Isn't part of the reason for catch and release to allow fish to grow to a greater size? Creek chubs compete for the same forage as the trout do. That's the reason some trout fishermen will just toss them into the woods for the raccoons to eat.
