    Thanks for this video! I wanted to comment so if anyone else runs into the same problems. My sons Teton stock motor stopped functioning after about a month of use. So we followed your video and I ordered the GoolRC motor and esc, and the Ovonic battery. I ran into three things worth noting,
    (1) We had to buy an XT60 to T plug (Deans?) adapter in order to connect the battery to the esc, it cost about 5 dollars at my local hobby shop, but there are lots on amazon too.
    2) We moved the original pinion gear to the new motor and it would not fit over the new GoolRC motor shaft. So I took a drill bit that was slightly smaller than the hole on the pinion gear and ran my drill pressing against the walls reaming the hole of the pinion gear until it slipped over the the shaft of the GoolRC motor shaft. This took some time, but eventually is smoothly slipped over the shaft. I also bought a metal 60t spur gear. I asked for a 54t but the guy gave me a 60t and I didn't realize it until I was home so, right or wrong I just stuck it in there with the original metal 9t pinion. I did have to remove the mesh spacer and adjust the mesh. This was not difficult but warrants focused attention to get it right.
    (3) The GoolRC motor and esc that I received from Amazon did not look exactly like the one in the video. Nothing on it was labeled as "GoolRC" and the esc was red and blue. That seems to happen when buying such things on Amazon. I put it all together and was ready to try it out. I intentionally hooked the colors up blue to blue, yellow to yellow and peach to red just to see what it was like and forward and reverse were backwards even after resetting the controller it stayed with the controls backwards. So I tried it blue to blue, yellow to red and peach to yellow. Like in the video, the car was about the same as the original speed, but now the controls were correct. We ran the car until it was drained of all battery it lasted probably 30+ minutes, probably much more. Which was satisfying. Still I was disappointed that we didn't get the same kind of speed results, then I read somewhere days later, I don't remember where, that someone had the same issue. They solved it by wiring it red to blue and peach to blue and yellow to yellow. I tried this and the car was then achieving that higher top speed, which is probably too fast but still very fun. After a bit the tires came right off the rims and rolled down the street.
    This was our first attempt at something like this, and start to finish, I had 4 hours invested in doing this. Honestly, this would be way too difficult for my 8 year old son to do by himself. It was well worth our time for us to try something outside of our comfort zone!
    If you are still reading this, you can do this and in probably less time!

    • @ReadytoRunRC
      @ReadytoRunRC  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@D8Dozer I didn’t have any problems with the pinion. The seizure is called cogging and that’s because it’s an uncensored motor. Some do it bad some not so much. Mine on this didn’t do it much at all. I’ve had another motor on another car do that. I had to give the car a little push to get the wheels moving so it turned the motor. Then it ran awesome. Once I stopped it would cog again and I couldn’t move. It did it really bad in grass. Pavement was a little better but I still had to give it a slight push.
