Have had that same model for a while, has been extremely handy, I like the high volume option… used it the other day to blow water out of the line to install new hydrant where a conventional compressor wouldn’t be convenient. Christy left it threaded onto a hay wagon and I drove away with it tumbling l, repaired the air line and the unit still works flawless so I can contest on its durability !
Yesterday an air compressor for the new tractor was added to my list of purchases for the week ahead. The timing of your helpful and informative video was perfect and the Dewalt is just what I need. Thank you for tuning in to my thoughts!
We have two of these. I take one in the SUV out to the farm and used it multiple times. I got a second one to leave at the house and the wife and daughter uses it to air up their tires. Simple, easy to use. I would recommend the carrying case. It adds some protection to it, so if you just toss it around in the trunk or back of the suv, it keeps it from getting damaged and all the pieces together,
@@MyClutteredGarage as you noted, the expensive part is the batteries, which you are already invested in. Most of the tools aren't that bad of price (they get you with the batteries). The older I get the more I like convenience over saving a few bucks. Still like to save money, but convenience is much higher on the scale.
I have one since a year or so, love it. I almost never read the instructions, so thanks to your video I found the 12V cord compartment. Did not know it was there! 😂
Thanks for the tip on the Suraielec 50 FT Extension Cord Reel I installed it on my carport ceiling .I bought the air compressor, too. It turned out I had 61 inflatable tires, so I carry it on my UTV so I don't had to bring all those tires to the garage compressor. Thanks for those suggestions.
Thanks for the information.I just got one of these for Christmas as I have a 5th wheel camper and it should do the trick. Although, most vehicles are not coming w/ 12v outlets anymore, so a USB charger would be a lot more user friendly in the near future. Thanks again for sharing.
Great review and he gets right to the point!. I wish I would’ve seen this before I got the crappy one they sell on Amazon that looks no bigger than a cell phone.! I don’t know how people read those well. But this product works. Thanks man!
Hi Ed! That’s a very impressive air compressor! I might have to add it to my growing collection of DeWalt tools. Thanks for sharing this cool tool with us!
We recently bought one similar to this, we are invested in Makita equipment so bought one from them. That looks to have more features than ours and a better design. The ability to connect to a 12v outlet is cool. Great review and we have subscribed (Joseph from the UK), I am not sure why we have not seen your channel before
I have another battery system and a very similar compressor. Love the thing. Great for flats out in the field. I keep it in my car on long trips or am pulling a trailer. Nothing shortens the life of a tire like low air pressure. I almost never use my big compressor or use a gas station's quarter eater. If you use it in 12 volt mode follow instructions carefully you may blow fuses if you don't. Carry spare fuses with the air compressor if you will be using it that way. Mine shuts off due to heat not time. Cannot be used until it cools enough. Still can fill one car tire from empty without it shutting off. Good reason to leave caps on and remove them as you go tire to tire as the compressor has a little time to cool between inflation. Also higher pressure meats faster heating (PV=nRT or pressure times volume is proportional to temperature). Tractor rear tires it will shut down a couple of times.
Good Morgen Sir Ed 👌👍😇 Yes project farm is OUTSTANDING like YOURSELF Sir Ed 😇👌 Yes I agree with you about to have on type of batteries 😇👌 OUTSTANDING compressor Sir 👌👌😇👍 Keep up your OUTSTANDING sence of humor Sir Ed and have a nice week end Cheers 🍻🍻
Great video Ed!!! Very handy😁👍 I had a idea💡 if the little accessories get loose you can put them in the 12V plug compartment. Thanks for the video. 🚜💨💡
The question Ed, is will this give enough of blast to reseat a tractor tire that rolls off the bead? Great review! I like it. It’s definitely quality and a pretty well designed tool, and I’m not a HUGE fan of battery tools…but I admit to having a few, like a drill and impact driver. That’s pretty much it though. Still, I may consider this for two reasons; it’s Dewalt quality and, it does provide an auxiliary corded plug for vehicle use in case the battery falls short. Thanks for sharing. One other observation I’d like to make, and it speaks to your character AND, why you’re one of my preferred content creators. You give credit to another content creator, not just verbally but in a link during your video and, it your information section. That sets you apart from so many others. Great fall day! Enjoy!
Thank you, Keith. I appreciate your kind comments. I sort of used the wrong terminology. This is considered a tire inflator, not really a compressor. It will not give a blast of air but as long as you can seal the bead it should inflate any tire. I’m looking forward to better maintaining pressure in all my tires since this thing is do darned convenient. Battery tools have come a long way! Thanks again. -Ed
Thank you for the review! Purchased one and love it! One question though, does your battery wiggle a little bit? I'm not sure if I got a defective but there is slight side way movements to the battery :/
@@MyClutteredGarage Hi Ed, thank you so much for your comment! It's definitely clicked all the way in but there is slight movement side ways. it doesn't seem to affect the functionality just thought it was bit odd.
good review, I am wanting to purchase an air inflator for 4WD Ute and our light 2.4 ton light truck - tires need to be about 50-60 psi. I hace watched about 6 videos and you are the only one so far that mentions the AC optional power adapter. Being Nov 23 how is the Dewalt going ? cheers Glenn
Thank you. I use it to keep all my tires properly inflated. I love the convenience and portability. It’s slow, but still easier than dragging out the heavy compressor. I don’t have the ac adapter and have no need for it. I also have not used the 12v cord since I always have plenty of 20v batteries on hand. Thanks for your comments! -Ed
What would you use for an adapter for RV motorhome dullys outside and inside. I have 1 of these Dewalt air compressors, but but & but…I cannot find a solution for RV dully tires which are same size as Semi-Trucks. I need an extender to reach to both outside and inside dully
Great review Ed. I switched to Milwaukee a couple of years ago but I really like that feature set. QUESTION: Any report on the battery usage? I seem to recall in Ross' video his Milwaukee unit used up batteries pretty quickly. Has your experience been the same?
Remember Kids it can only run for 10 minutes at a time or it will overheat and damage the device. After 10 minutes of run time you need to let it sit for 20 minutes to cool down and then you can start it back up.
It displays lo P and then automatically shuts off when I plug it into 12V and try to pump my bicycle wheel. Any ideas on how to use 12V to pump my wheels?
Maybe. But it’s best for topping off pressure. I’d use a traditional compressor if you’re inflating from zero psi. If you’re just topping off, you can do many many tires with one battery.
Thank you dewalt. Milwaukee wants to be greedy and makes you have to buy a 120 dollar battery to operate their inflator. I'll be sticking with my dewalt line.
I don’t see why not. It does time out after 10 mins and you’re supposed to let it cool down. I think it’s more for maintaining tire pressure than “full blown” filling.

Glad it helped!
Thank you for showing us how to attach the nozzle to the tire!! Most reviews don’t even show us how to do that…🙄
If you have the Gooloo jump starter you can use the DC female adapter that comes with it and power it up if you don't have a DeWalt battery handy.
I use this for more things than I thought I would. Latest was blowing out some irrigation lines in prep for winter.

Will it charge your battery while plugged into a vehicle?
Hi Dan. It will not. You need to use rte external Dewalt charger.
Is it ok to leave a 4AH battery connected while not in use? Or take the battery off when not in use?
I’m not sure but I tend to remove mine when not in use.
Remember Kids it can only run for 10 minutes at a time or it will overheat and damage the device. After 10 minutes of run time you need to let it sit for 20 minutes to cool down and then you can start it back up.
Yes. Good for topping off tire pressure. No replacement for an air compressor. That’s why I have both! 😄👍
I got one
I turned mine on and I ger Er 5 code. I connected it to my tire and I still get the same code.
Darn. I don’t know what that means but it may be defective. I’d dry another battery as a test.
It displays lo P and then automatically shuts off when I plug it into 12V and try to pump my bicycle wheel. Any ideas on how to use 12V to pump my wheels?
Does it displya Lo P (Low power) with the Dewalt battery or only when plugged inot a 12v outlet?

Maybe. But it’s best for topping off pressure. I’d use a traditional compressor if you’re inflating from zero psi. If you’re just topping off, you can do many many tires with one battery.

Yes but it's another thing to mess with
Will it realistically fill an RV tire to 125psi?
I don’t see why not. It does time out after 10 mins and you’re supposed to let it cool down. I think it’s more for maintaining tire pressure than “full blown” filling.
I have the same one and it stopped working after about 6 useses maybe I just got a lemon .
Bummer. I still use it all the time. I’d contact Dewalt if I were you.
this tool has issues with the pressure senders and DeWalt does not sell it separately , codes er5 and or OP on screen renders this useless
This is a piece of junk ! Didn’t put air in the tire! Don’t waste your money!
I use it all the time. It’s great unless the bead is broke.
Not good for tires 🛞
