- Had a chance to charge my Rivian at a Tesla Supercharger location. I was surprised by the speeds! @tesla @Rivian #supercharger #tesla

You mentioned an extension cable for use at the superchargers. Remember the cables on the Tesla V3 superchargers are liquid cooled so an extension cable wouldn’t be cooled so that could be a big problem.
Once it slowed to 41kW you might have been able to stop and restart again to increase kW. Alternatively consider switching stalls. I hope this slow charging is a glitch and not how Tesla Superchargers are designed to charge Rivians.
I’m sure it was just a glitch. I decided not to change stalls or reset, as I wanted to test to see if it would speed back up. If I were on a road trip, I would have changed stalls for sure.
@@CarSpecGarage that makes perfect sense. Thanks for the informative video!
When was the last time you saw most of the stalls taken?
Not sure, I really can’t remember ever seeing them full.
Great, here we go with these other brands clogging up the superchargers for over an hour.
Get over it. They don't even have access to all of them. Certainly not the ones in the best spots.
Over the entire charge it just never occurred to you to check if the adapter is hot??
I hope it doesn't work for 'generic' brands.
16 stalls - 1 Tesla - your guilt of taking up a parking spot is not warranted 🤔... Thanks for your honesty, and tranparency . I can see why Hertz and others have bailed on EV's . The price you paid is not incentivising.
What you illustrated in this video is that your carbon footprint is so much larger than most ICE cars.
Absolutely not true - especially with home charging. With respect to both cost of ownership and with carbon footprint, home charging is where it’s best. Within 2 years the carbon footprint benefit is met and then gained from there on.
@@justinstewart3248 hmmm. No. The mere facts that you have consumed (bought a vehicle) consumed and utilised the new infrastructure, and the source constituents puts you in the carbon greed category. Try holding onto your older car for a few years longer.
But thats OK . I am not condemning you for your consumption.. i am actually all for it. I just DO NOT appreciate people being misinformed and being used as props for the Green industry, and signalling to others some moral standard.
@@TheoSmith249 bro haha WTF is “carbon greed”. You clearly don’t understand how EVs work. There is definitely an upfront “cost” with respect to carbon output - but it’s the long term aspect that makes sense. Especially when you consider they are the only option to even have the possibility to be fueled via the sun, or nuclear power or anything else that doesn’t burn hydrocarbons. That’s all I’m saying.
@@justinstewart3248 BTW, do you charge your Rivian inside a garage.
@@TheoSmith249 yes of course, at home. And if I’m traveling I always try and charge at the home I’m going to even if it’s a 120v outlet on the outside of the garage or off the porch.
