You are amazing! I actually gasped and said "no way" a few times watching this video! I experienced all versions of these gas lighting methods. All the way down to the example about asking if he was cheating while we were in Hawaii (something that we never do) to was doing this while I was recovering from a near fatal sledding accident which required an ambulance/ stitches and months of physical therapy. Thank you. I've always felt that the hardest part to forgive was the making me feel "crazy" part. I had actually started seeing a therapist prior to discovery because I was so confused and thought "I must be crazy and insecure if I think my husband was having an affair". Going to read your book as well as "the gas light effect". Again thank you so much for this content. Wish I had found it sooner in my discovery.

My ex was blaming me for going to others. I now see the hole truth and that l was with a manipulating gaslighter.

When someone has a pattern of denying and manipulating your reality you must be willing to accept this person has no conscience and is indeed a " sociopath".
I agree with Dr. George K. Simon's classification; Character Disturbed.
Every therapist would benefit from his work rather than excusing these behaviors and retraumatizing victims of this abuse that is far from any form of normal .

Is it possible to refer to the addict’s deceitful behavior as “common” as opposed to “normal?”
There is nothing normal about deceiving and gaslighting your spouse for decades.

I agree. When she said “normal” it completely threw me off.

What about a one night stand with a sex worker ? He says it’s not a big deal. But I feel blown away . What’s real ?
