Hey I'm from Arkansas. I have a Sphinx SDP myself. As a matter of fact the slide is off to be milled for a red dot this week. I got a really good deal on my SDP back several years ago. Thanks for informing me about the B&T. Good to know.
It was just a few weeks ago that I learned that the CZ P.07 took its looks from the Sphinx rather than the other way around. That would make an interesting comparison, a high quality all metal "copy" versus a polymer "original. "
I have ample experience with the Sphinx and Phoenix firearms, but have none with the B&T. There's a local viewer selling a B&T MKII with threaded barrel so I may take the plunge. Nice comparison and thank you for the plug.
Hey, just stumbled by. I have an Mk.2 that I bought new and have put about 1K rounds through it. At first I felt bad about shooting such a piece, but to relegate a firearm to the life of a safe queen is even worse a fate, if you ask me! I know I’ll never get rid of the thing. What an absolute riot of a thing it is to shoot! Even with such a plain front sight, it just seems to fall right into the groove right out of the holster, and the thing hardly even twitches under recoil, so it’s a real laser beam. I always get a kick out of blasting a fist-sized hole in a paper Ivan at ‘fighting’ pace after two magazines. The thing just makes it so easy. To my knowledge, when Sphinx went under, their assets went to government auction and B&T bought THE machinery that Sphinx was using; They didn’t just copy a CZ75 again. They copied the copy. Normally that kind of operation would raise an eyebrow to me, but when Sphinx was already doing such a good job and B&T was around to say, ‘hold my beer’…these little machines only got better. They take EXACTLY CZ75 magazines, that’s actually what I use at the range. I’m fairly certain B&T buys them right from Mec-Gar (surprise) and just etches their logo in them. Last I checked, one from B&T was double what one from CZ was going for. As far as holsters go, I’ve had a local shop make me a one-off shell that I’ve customized a bit myself, but I’m also fairly certain a holster for an SDP or perhaps even a CZ P.07 should work as well, with a little adjustment.
AMAZING feedback - thanks so much for sharing that!! and for watching!!! You have inspired me - I need to carry my Sphinx more. I have an IWB from Crossbreed that works - have just never had it fully into my heavy rotation.... it's a sin to not shoot that gun as much as possible!! Both fantastic guns!! THANK YOU AGAIN for stopping by!
I had to get the B/T back to the owner but will 100% do a comparison with the P07 (I just picked one up) in the future. Great idea - thank you for that - and for watching!!
Hello, please, how would you compare the front sight on the B&T vs. the old Sphinx one? I think the new one looks to be quite low profile, to the point where aiming might become uncomfortable for the eye. Whats your opinion?
I was curious about that flat trigger in a hammer fired gun. Glad to hear you liked it!! Have been super impressed with my LTT guns! Thanks so much for the comments and for watching!!
Can’t find a holster for my BT MKii. Alienware makes a holster for the sphinx. Do you think that holster with the mkii? Also. I did not know that the barrel has a left handed threading. That sucks for using a suppressor.
The Sphinx SDP was my coveted pistol choice when I first got into guns. I never got one but seen nothing but great reviews on it except for one (NutNfancy) said it was garbage! I opt for Walther as my 9mm choice but this video makes me want to grab one of these fusion pistols.
shot both. exact same shooting experience. if you can find either i would highly recommend. Just curious - which Walther do you prefer? THANK YOU for watching!!!
@@TheArkansasGunGuy You can't go wrong with a PPQ or PDP in 9mm from Walther but I love how the PDP-F model feels in my hand. Best triggers out of the box.
B&T bought the tooling and remaining parts in Switzerland after the bankruptcy. What Kriss had from Sphinx prior is what they had. I have Sphinx’s and the B&T MkII.
The looked identical. Mk II fit in the Sphinx and cycled, so I think it should work - but I never fired it before returning to the owner. Thanks for watching!!
@@TheArkansasGunGuy I wish I picked up a Sphinx SDP with a threaded barrel when they were still in production. It would be nicely convenient if the MK-II threaded barrels fit perfectly!
I was told that Kriss went bankrupt and sold off their inventory to b&t. The result is the same pistol but you can see the areas where they've milled out any of the identification from the Sphinx pistol. Before they went belly up I was able to get my hand on a Sphinx but mine says "Sphinx Switzerland," not "Sphinx MADE IN Switzerland." I asked Kriss support about this and they weren't very helpful.
Thanks so much for watching!!! I was allowed to use friend’s MKII for the filming and I’ve already retuned it. Will see if /when I can get my hands on it again. Did a quick search and, man, there is NOTHING out there!!! Sorry I couldn’t help this time - sure do appreciate you stopping by!
Pretty sure the mkII is the same exact gun as the Sphinx just w the design cuts. B&T used remaining inventory it purchased. How is the safety on the Sphinx? The one on the B&T is garbage and I’m looking for a remedy

Wonderful idea!!! I've just added it to the list - THANK YOU for that suggestion AND for watching!!

Thank YOU so much for all your awesome videos. I am beyond honored that you stopped by. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Please do a comparison with these and P07, and let us know which is your favorite and why. Thanks and awesome video!

Can’t wait for this episode to drop!
very much appreciate you watching!!!

I’ll see if I can get the BT back from my pal. I didn’t think to check that. Thanks for asking and for watching!
Good job on your videos! I wonder if the sphnix shares magazine compatibility with the cz75 compact and po1 ???

It should but you should call them to verify. Crossbreed made my Sphinx holster. Thank you for watching!!

Don't listen to the nut. I stopped watching his videos years ago.

I've been looking for a Sphinx with a threaded barrel. So will the Mk-II threaded barrel work in the Sphinx?

I was just searching for this earlier haha
hope it helped!! thank you for watching!!!

How do you get the rear plate off? I’ve unscrewed the rear screw but the plate will not move. Does it slide off or lift off?

Nice guns but I like the Sphinx better
Love my Sphinx! Thank you for watching!!
Can anyone confirm frame, slide & even beavertail getting real hot after about 100rds ?
...Speaking of B&T.
Wait until you learn there is a Phoenix Fusion and Predator ;-)
Did you get to shoot them both side by side ?
yes. Identical. both shoot GREAT. THANK YOU for watching!!
