I'm a Singer" This is not "The Voice", it's a competition of already known and talented singers.Adding that the organizers keep secret the names of the participants - quite famous singers.
Dimash was the youngest of them. Its organizers invited him themselves.Dimash sang "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" in the competition he was supposed to sing first. There were eight singers, it will go on to seven. Dimash passed. Each day, one participant receives a cup and one leaves the project. There are 14 cups in total. This means that you have to take part in 14 turns. The winner is the one who receives the most cups. New singers join along the way.The peculiarity of the project is that the cameras in real mode observe your every move, film how you eat, how you behave In 2017, Dimash's competitors were very strong, experienced singers, multiple winners of the "China Music World", "M T V Awards" and others.
The peculiarity of this show is that the singer is not limited to performing the song on stage, he is constantly under real-time supervision.The main requirements for the singer in the project "I am a Singer":
1. A singer must win the hearts of the audience.
2. He has to show his new face every time.
3. To perform in a new style, in a new genre.
4. Sing Live.
The winner in each round is selected by 500 spectators aged 20-60 sitting in the hall. Each viewer has the right to vote for three singers. These 500 viewers no longer vote in other rounds. In each turn, the singers receive a total of 1,500 votes. In the first round, Dimash received 78% of the votes, ie 1170 votes out of 1500 !!!After January 21, they lost the possibility of a "normal" walk in China! The fans don't let us do that, they're everywhere. By the way, a group of fans enrolled in Kazakh language courses to understand Dimash's native language.Greetings
The sad part is Dimash came in 2nd place on The Singer. Honestly think it's because they didn't want to let a non Chinese person win. He was by FAR the best singer on that edition, or hell, any edition of The Singer!
@@randywissler9923 Agree. He won the very first round as a foreign singer then won the second round. The show producers were not going to allow Dimash to win every round which he should have if you watch the audience reaction to his performances. Case in point: Autumn Strong won Dimash the Golden Melody Award (Asian Grammy) as the best foreign singer in 2017 and he didn't come in first in The Singer for that round? I don't believe it. Same with almost all of his other performances. He was so beyond the other singers, it likely would not have caused enough controversy and anticipation to hear the other singers if Dimash won all the time. 🙄

Currently, Dimash's repertoire mainly consists of original songs, including those composed by himself. Stranger is an original song composed by Igor Krutoy especially for Dimash. Just yesterday Dimash released his new song Zhalyn. He is the co-writer of this song.

Participants in the 'The Singer' competition had a week to learn and arrange the song that has been chosen for them. Dimash didn't speak a word of English at the time and only learned the lyrics phonetically. It was the 3rd song in the competition.

👉 In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden until then. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door.
"The Show Must Go On" was the 3. song in the competition. Participants have one week to learn the lyrics and arrange the song. Dimash did not speak English at this point.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won).

Oh yes, "Hello" definitely has Dimash's stamp on it! I always admire in this video that you just reacted to how Dimash steps over the cord from the guitar without missing a beat or seeming to pay attention to it! (I know that's not anything to do with the song, it's just what I always notice!)
I also noticed that the first time I watched it. I thought of how experienced he already was at 22 to be aware of the cord and just so that automatically without skipping a beat!

"Hello" by Lionel Richie is an excellent choice. So is "Olimpico", another original by Igor Krutoy composed specifically for Dimash. For the visuals and the atmosphere, the best version for this song can be found on Igor Krutoy's YT channel.
I kept thinking he's 22, a Kazakh singing in front of hundreds of MILLIONS on Hunan tv ( this show is enormous in popularity) knocking their socks off, poised, and he's singing in English better than many people I know in front of a Chinese audience. And does it in 12 languages. Unbelievable. Thanks guys !
His calling card ( his term for it) has always been SOS the 1st song he sang on this show, had been singing it for years and 6 years later, still is.

It is the official MV, the style is called "mood" : "The music video for the incendiary composition was filmed by Kazakh director Shyngyskhan Tazhikeev in the MOOD VIDEO genre.
The director shared that this music video was an experiment both for him and for the performer himself. During the creation of the storyboard of the music video there was no script with a story behind it. “The purpose of the MOOD VIDEO shooting was to show the performer from a new side using dynamic editing, as well as the use of a special laser and other lighting devices without introducing a specific concept."
I’ll admit, I’d love to hear him revisit this one now that his English has improved so much. Dimash is incredible no matter what, but it’s beautiful to hear his progression! Stranger is a Dimash original, as is Olimpico and a slew of others (a new one dropped today also!)

He takes "Hello" to a whole other world, when he does his cover of the song, it was reported that Lionel Ritchie stated " Did I write that Song' , when he heard DIMASH do it.

The version done in Kiev 2020 is epic the dears did English subs right on the screen and in large letters to understand the meaning of the song, that coupled with the videos of war and children victims is a great performance, Make this the best of WAR&PEACE. This one is a clip from his Kiev concert, other great songs on that concert also. And not from Digital Show.

If indeed his vocal range is insane, he also has masterpieces without any vocal acrobatics: Omir Oter (he just released the Digital concert version), one of his most powerful song, and an original written by the extraordinary composer Renat Gaissin, Know vocalise version, which offers a mystical experience, my absolute favorite Dimash's song, Qairan Elim, also written by R. Gaissin (the music video, he directed himself, is breathtaking), etc.
For song written by him, you have Unforgettable day (the crazy Gakku version or the sublime Digital concert version) or War & Peace.
You still have a lot of masterpieces to discover in his repertoire!

I honestly don't get the appeal of the Know Vocalise. For me it's one of the most boring things he's ever done. Luckily we all have different tastes though.

It's even been referred to as self indulgent. But as I said it's okay for everyone to have different tastes and we don't have to like everything he does.

He came back to perform the following year from this & you’ll see how much improved his English was. *War & Peace 2021* is his composition, he got someone to translate his lyrics to Mandarin. The 2021 digital show was shot in Ukraine, with a Ukrainian director, & mostly ukranian crew/dancers etc (it may have been all, often he had Ukrainian Russian & Kazakh people working together), was debuted 13 months before the invasion😥… War & Peace is very much a song that speaks to the heart of who Dimash is. That said guys- please understand you have a ways to go before you begin to even understand all this artist does. War & Peace has less acrobatics than some- but the mastery is in every breath. I bet you’ll also love his music video *BE WITH ME*- another original song he also wrote/composed, with some English lyrics help. I personally believe it’s incredibly underrated for its music, but it is a departure from anything you’ve seen so far & a hell of a lot of fun.

He is a person of depth and intelligence, unique childhood, and of virtuous a character as you're going to find anywhere among the human race. He's an ordinary human and Demi God put here for us. He's young and already has so much under his belt. I am a Dear through and through and I'm here to journey with him. Pit falls and zenith. It's a growth experience as well as musical ecstacy in many cases. The beauty and thrill of his voice is gold. Yes. I am addicted.
