Thanks for the reaction! LOVEBITES are the GODDESSES of heavy , power , thrash metal ! In 2018 , LOVEBITES won the prestigious Metal Hammer GOLDEN GODS Award for "Best New Band" (London,UK). The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians,such as : Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy (and this is not a complete list).
LOVEBITES is a Japanese female power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Japanese heavy metal band DESTROSE members Miho( bass,backing vocals) and Haruna(drums). The band has successfully performed at various major international rock-festivals many times .In the spring of 2018, LOVEBITES performed on the Japanese leg of the Warped Tour. In August 2018, they performed at Wacken Open Air (Germany), becoming the first Japanese female rock band to perform at the festival. Also in August 2018 they performed on the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air (UK). In 2019, LOVEBITES performed at the Download Festival in Donington (UK) and Download Festival in Madrid (Spain). Their performance in Donington was named by the festival organizers and Metal Hammer magazine as one of the highlights of the festival! In the same year they performed at the Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) and the Summer Sonic Festival (Japan). Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic that began in 2020 prevents LOVEBITES from performing at festivals and forced a drastic reduction of concerts.
LOVEBITES is a phenomenal band, all the ladies are talented musicians! For 5 years they have recorded about 50 songs and all the songs are very good!

🐺Miho has been playing the piano since the age of 5. She started playing the bass guitar in school. Great bass player! The fact that such a wonderful band appeared is, first of all, the merit of Miho. She came up with the idea of starting a band and what kind of music the band would play, a combination of power metal and "old school" heavy metal. Miho was able to find and unite all these talented ladies in LOVEBITES.
🐺Haruna has played drums since she was thirteen years old, she also plays keyboards. Haruna is the smallest (4 '9 ") , but appearances are deceiving. When Haruna sits down at the drums, this is the "little BIG Engine." She is one of the best drummers in Japan.
🐺Midori (blond hair) has been playing the piano since she was two years old and the electric organ since she was eight. She started studying guitar at the age of 20. Super guitarist, "Crazy Shredder". She surpasses many male guitarists in speed and technique of playing the guitar.
Graduated from ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka , GIT-DX department (superfast guitar department). ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka is an international music school , headquartered in Hollywood, California, USA.
🐺Miyako (black hair) has been playing the piano since the age of three, received a classical education (piano) and wanted to pursue a career as a pianist. She has been playing the guitar since the age of 18. Super guitarist! They call her "The Golden Touch" and she is a real musical genius. Miyako is the main composer of the band, she wrote over 50% of the music.
* In terms of teamwork , synchronization and harmonization of guitars , Midori and Miyako today are perhaps the best pair of guitarists in the world playing metal. One music critic said that two guitarists of this level (Midori and Miyako) in the same band is a crime!😊
🐺Asami started with R&B and soul music . She studied classical ballet for about 16 years (this is noticeable in her movements on stage, especially the movements of her hands). Started ballet lessons at the age of two. After leaving school, Asami lived for some time in the US, where she came to study jazz and hip hop dance. Plays the piano. Asami wrote most of the lyrics of the band's songs.
All songs LOVEBITES are written in English. Unlike other metal bands, LOVEBITES are always on stage in white dresses . White dresses are their style. The Wolf is the mascot of LOVEBITES and is featured on all band's albums except the first EP "The Lovebites". The band's fans call themselves the 🐺Wolfpack🐺

Singer was from RnB cover group and she handled mariah, whitney etc stuff , so these ranges for her are picnic, all member trained in piano, Miyako the cool gtr playerhad 16ys of piano at concert level, so speed and tapping , a walk in the park for her, power stance gtr player is competition power lifter/ body builder, and yes she has a six pack, drum and bass come from a successful metal act Destose , and they in fact formed the band, bassist Miho has left the band. and the new bassist 20yo Fami , who has already 57million views on her own album, has just joined Lovebite for their next album out in Feb.

LOVEBITES 🐺 INCREDIBLE
This is from 2020. Listen to the same song live from 2021. Asami's voice have improved over that year.
Midori, the blonde guitarist, always plays ESP guitars. Her two main guitars are the reindeer blue ESP E-II Horizon that you see here and a black Horizon for when the song is tuned to drop D. She also has a red and white ESP Arrow that she uses for one song, "Winds of Transylvania," and in their older videos, you might see her playing a gorgeous white ESP FRX. She has a few other guitars that you may see here and there, but I'm not going for exhaustive lists here. As far as I know, she's always played Marshall cabs and Kemper amps.
Miyako, the brunette guitarist, typically plays the Dean USA Icon you see in this video. She switches to either a Dean Switchblade ML or Gibson Les Paul when the song is tuned to drop d. She also has her signature Dean V and will play a handful of other guitars depending on the song and her need. She's a big fan of wood grain in her guitars. She typically plays through a Peavey 6505+ amp and an Orange cab. She recently debuted her artist series Orange cab which, of course, is white.
Miho, the bass guitarist, makes it easy because she always plays an ESP Amaze. In older stuff it'll be blue, in the 2021 show I believe it was a black one. She plays a Darkglass Electronics rack. Unfortunately, Miho left the band in August of 2021 for undisclosed reasons. After a lengthy audition process, the new bass guitarist, Fami, was announced just last month.
Haruna, the drummer, plays Pearl drums and Sabian cymbals.
i would love to see her use the white frx just once in a live concert. after all that's the guitar from the first 3 or 4 videos that made many of us fall in love with her. that and the fact that it just one of the coolest looking guitars ever made. and she must have owned it for a long time because she had it before in GEKIJO METALLICHE
The white ESP E- II frx is the most beautiful of Midori's guitars. A blonde in a white dress decorated with gold, with a white guitar with gold details.... 👍 It's a pity that Midori hasn't used this guitar in concerts in recent years.

No other female guitarist can play solo or duel, but no other female guitarist can play in tight synchronized unison or harmony for more than 30~90 seconds as well as Miyako(Black hair Gt) & Midori(Gt) of LOVEBITES.
The two guitarists are not only talented, but also play different types of feel music, which synchronizes their guitar playing in their solo performances, creating a continuous, non-monotonous guitar performance between them.
Their guts and determination to not be afraid of failure in their twin shredders during live performances is based on their trust in each other.Of course, this is due to Haruna's (Dr) tireless, fast, and precise drumming, Miho's (Ba) equally tireless, fast, dedicated finger-picking bass, and the long hours of stoic practice by all members.
This live performance was in 2020, but in 2021, Miyako's face was swollen and she was different from the Miyako of "Ice Smile" as usual.
At the time of gig in 2021, Miyako(Black hair Gt) was 4-5 months pregnant.
The two-hour concert must have been a performance that took a considerable toll on Miyako.
Miyako's mental strength is steel metal.
Prior to 2019, Miyako would headbang, crowd-pleasing, and smile at live performances.
Vocally, Asami(Vo)'s e5 range will amaze anyone.
Asami has a voice that can transform from ballads to thrash and power metal.

congrats for finding them. lovebites are inspired by classicl metal like iron maiden, judas priest, metallica, testament, slayer, pantera, helloween, megadeath etc. . and they add their flavour, modern elements and techniques, symphonic and classical, even proggy elements and create the lovebites style. you´ve seen and heard their amazing musician skills and stage charisma. they really are unique and something else. but even more amazing for me are their composer skills. since 2017 they have three albums out, one remastered best of, four EPs and four live blurays. about fifty songs. and not a single bad or mediocre one. just very good, masterpieces and epic masterpieces. thanks for your expert reaction and appreciation. the lovebites rabbit hole is very rewarding.

Japan's all-female and female-led Rock and Metal bands are the best on the planet and are making all the exciting, unique, new and epicAF music for the 21st century. You've encountered some - Lovebites, Band-Maid, Babymetal - but there's many more for you to be amazed by - Nemophila would have to be my next choice for epic female Metal but Asterism, Lonesome Blue, Wagakki Band and (just to show there are some male bands too!) Ningen Isu, a superbly talented Metal trio who've been performing for three decades are all worth experiencing. I'm sure you'll get round to them all eventually but Japan is a deep and very full treasure chest of excellent music so it may take a while (unlike your bro if he isn't a reactor as, if you send him this, he'll be watching all of their stuff!).
Also, don't forget Unlucky Morpheus and Galnerius.
These two bands have a "certain connection" with Love Bites.

One of my favorite hobbies is watching new reactors react to Lovebites. They see these 5 beautiful women all dressed up like they are going to a prom or a ball and then get slammed in the face with their amazing talent. There are so many layers to this band. They play from 80s-style metal to power metal to thrash. They are all maestros of their chosen instruments but for me, it's their songwriting abilities, lyrics, and the energy of their songs that make them really stand out. I can honestly say I love every one of their songs. Of course, some are better than others but they all have something that is amazing. The chemistry is so off the charts good. It was a bummer seeing Miho, their former bass player, leave the band, but it seems they found an excellent replacement in Fami. I think they are going to continue bringing us fantastic metal without skipping a beat with their new bass player. By the way, welcome to the world of Lovebites. Once you go down that rabbit hole, do not expect t to come out.

Well you've gone down the rabbit hole now ! 😂 . These ladies are some of the best metal musicians on the planet . Asami ( vocals ) is from an R&B background . Midori ( blonde guitarist ) and Miyako ( cool guitarist ) believe it or not only started playing guitar at the ages of 19 & 20 respectively - both had studied classical piano from a young age . Miyako's virtuosity is showcased in songs like " Swan Song " ( with the Chopin intro ) and also " Edge of the World " which also shows Asami's versatility .There are too many banging tunes to list - but they're live performances are all superb .

This is virtuoso musicianship. Arguably the best dual lead guitarists ever. Miyako, the one on the right, is my all time favorite musician. She's a virtuoso on piano too (Swan Song with Chopin intro from same concert th-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/w-d-xo.html ).
I concur. Hammer of Wrath is pure thrash and is as good (or better) than any Slayer song.
And when Asami has her cute little head bang at the start, I'm in heaven.
@Evidence Matters Funny, but from a pure thrash standpoint thinking of Slayer, Break the Wall live Five of a Kind Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020 is the best pure thrash song ever to me.

Asami doesn't do growls, but she has a powerful voice and can really belt it out all concert, although not all their songs are this high.

Great reaction. Yes, the singer Asami sings mainly like that all through two hour shows, and they all keep this velocity and energy for 2 hours without a drop of sweat. The 4'9" drummer Haruna keep kicking that insane double bass for 2 hours. You got a very good point. Yes, they are heavily influenced by Iron Maiden and old school great bands from 80s and 90s. They got a female Bruce Dickinson on vocal, and ex-bassist/band founder/ex-leader Miho is a great fan of Steve Harris. Great reaction bro, you can’t stop now. You need to react to more Lovebites and you will not find a bad song from them. They are that good. They are taking heavy metal to another level. Yes, they are wearing white dresses and heels to show that they don’t have to sacrifice their feminine to rock hard. Yes, there are bands that can shred loud and fast. But Lovebites doing it with melodically. These ladies are world class talents and they deserve worldwide recognition.

This band has some truly epic songs. I will highly recommend Edge Of The World as one of them. It starts off slow and builds beautifully. But no song of theirs will disappoint you.

They recently went on a year-long hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 and their fans eagerly await their next move. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. With Miho having left for personal reasons, they recently announced their new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. A Lovebites track that doesn't always get the attention it deserves is Today is the Day. An excellent showcase of all their skills, including vocalist Asami on piano (you'll soon find out that guitarist Miyako is the ace pianist of the group, to another level in fact, check out Swansong with the Chopin intro), however I understand they can all play keyboards, including the new bassist Fami. They are awesome and have incredible songs, they write all their lyrics in English with help even though they don’t speak English. Miyako speaks a little English but it’s limited, she’s the taller black haired guitarist, she writes a lot of their music. She’s a genius and a masterful composer with a long history of classical piano. Keep up the great reactions especially Lovebites, Band-Maid, and others including giving bands like Nemophila, Hanabie, Trident, Bridear, Asterism, Aldious a try.
I'm sorry, I want to clarify. Asami and Midori speak English. Miyako and Miho speak some English. I don't know about Haruna. After graduating from school, Asami left for the USA and lived there for several years. Therefore, she speaks English best of all of the band, but with an accent. Asami is the main lyricist. The level of knowledge of English allows her to write good lyrics in English.

Sorry for the late response, but a great reaction and pleased you have discovered Lovebites! I understand they will be playing in the States next year(2024) and in Spain - other locations to be announced. I have seen many iconic rock bands playing live in my lifetime, e.g. Deep Purple, Led Zep, Heart, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, AC/DC, RHCP, etc. but Lovebites are now my favourite by far.
For a more mainstream all-girl rock band, check out Rolling Quartz from S. Korea - all are very cute, but they make a pretty good sound also, and they now have over 2 million views for their latest single 'Fearless'. But for serous metal, there is only one band.....

@@alfredtorres2188 Miyako’s genius is in her compositions and in her soloing. Furthermore, she arranges all the music for the band. In addition, she is the ONLY musician worldwide to have mastered (not just play) 2 instruments. Her compositions contain changes which are complex: Time changes, Key changes and technicality in rhythms, and yet, unlike Frank Zappa, the music flows smoothly and easy to listen to. Her guitar solos are masterful. They are very melodic and very technical. Her solo to Holy War is an example. She starts off with the guitar pick and moves smoothly to the fingertapping going up the fretboard and going back to the guitar pick without missing a note to a climatic ending. She is not just shredding off scales - she is playing very melodically. The notes she chooses and how she phrases them is nothing you will hear from another guitar player. She can literally play what she hears. She is probably the greatest ROCK musician in the history of ROCK music. She started playing piano at the age of 3 and immersed herself in classical music. She started teaching herself guitar at 18 and took all that musical knowledge from the piano and just adapted it to the guitar.
