This particlular airframe is a -203FF, which is a 2-crew version, and also the world's first 2-crew widebody type (service entry Feb 1981). The other one of the two left in the world, EP-IBG, (ex-OH-LAA) is still flying in 2016, this one is now stored. The a/c's were manufactured in 1984 and were no doubt a bargain for Finnair to buy from storage as new in 1986 and 1987. (Kar-Air was the charter arm of Finnair).
I know, but I have nothing against it(who doesn't?).Anyways, both the DC-10 and older A300s are available with the GE CF6-50C,which sounds different to the current CF6-80C(747,newer A300s,A330,etc.).Personally,I don't mind them both.
Nice, my favorite version of the A300. I have always been intrigued with that unique whistle/bell sound that this version of the GE engines make as you apply power. You can really hear it from a long ways off when one is in landing mode and they change engine power.
I enjoyed the A3B4 several times out of the cockpit between Brussels and Antalya (MNG airlines). Each time those CF6's were spinning up from 24% N1 tot 110 %N1 all my hair on my arms raised..... every time: What a Sound!!!! Thanks for digitalizing this sound again with HQ.... great job
Great video..Brings back so many memories of the A300B4..Now only Iran Air flies them, i think, plus the A300-600R..I flew them many times..it was one of my favorite aircraft..And a great one for short and medium-haul flights of heavy demand..Those engines pure heaven..They just dont make them like they used to...Now the new planes are sooo quiet that for aviation fans and spotter it's boring..I flew a 787-8 and was so very quiet on spool up and take off..The same goes for the A320neo...A shame..This vids are a treasure!
Great video and audio of this A300. Engine sound is close to that of the older DC-10s, now retired from commercial service. Presumably, these jets have a newer version of the older GE CF6 engines. I am guessing that most or all A300s are retired or about to be? No more known DC-10s or MD-11s flying in a commercial passenger means, just as cargo planes now.
most A300 (especially newer ones) still used as cargo aircraft. For commercial Passengers, Iran stil uses it, which also the only country still operating commercial A300.
I love the sound of those ge cf6s

Great takeoff! Sounded like a DC-10!
I thing they have the same engines

+Mah584jr HD Aviation Same engines :)
The DC-10 and older A300 are available with CF6-50C. And the MD-11, B747-400, B767, and newer A300 are available with CF6-80C.
@@ABSDEFRD I will guess that the engines are "newer" versions of the GE-CF-6 engines used on legacy DC-10 wide-body jets.
Nice CF6-50 engines. Sounds like full TOGA
Great to be back on board an A300B4-200. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

Even in IDLE,it sounds like a beast!

Iran Air seems to have all the best planes
Vincent V those are the old plane
Personally I think the ge-cf6 engines in the airbus a300 and dc-10 sound quieter then those used in the Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 767.
Cyrus Mathon Yes you may. Please send me the link to the published video when completed.
Those engines. Wow.
Love the droning sound, always did
Can i use your sound for an other video ?
10/10 VIDEO!
That engine
Nice, right?!
the buzz
@@flymajj Yup, nice. It sure sounds close to that of old DC-10 engines, and maybe MD-11 wide-body tri-jets.
@@DH111d they're closer to DC-10. Older A300 uses CF6-50 which same as DC-10, also have. Newer A300 uses CF6-80 which same as 767, 747-400, MD-11.
seat number?
Nice video...............thanks for sharing.
a lot of empty gates at Mumbai..I guess that peak time is during the evening and at night??
who was the Cpt?
Iran air has great service on their flights.. only downside is no alcohol beverages :/
IR811 is 747SP
+Murtuza Dh Yes, it is at the moment. I have also flown on the B747-SP on this route.
